Chapter One #2
Kendall and Sloane were standing in her bedroom.
The door was closed. A single bedside lamp projected a low light over the space.
She felt a bit woozy, like she’d been submerged underwater for far longer than her lungs could handle.
The only explanation for it—and it wasn’t alcohol since they hadn’t even bothered to order drinks before leaving the restaurant—was the storm of nerves sweeping through her stomach.
Sloane made her nervous.
“Blind dates are the worst,” Sloane said, stepping forward and closing her fingers around Kendall’s wrist. “But sometimes, there seems to be light at the end of the tunnel. Even if it’s just briefly.”
Kendall didn’t have time to ponder the hidden meaning behind the woman’s words.
The moment Sloane had touched her, goosebumps had erupted across Kendall’s skin.
She didn’t pull back, wondering if this was a good idea or not.
She didn’t even let her gaze drift to Sloane’s perfect lips.
Instead, she stayed still, waiting, allowing Sloane to take charge.
It had become clear that Sloane liked being in control.
She’d shown it at the restaurant, swinging the door open for Kendall as they left, then hailing a cab with a flick of her wrist. She had directed the driver to Kendall’s place without hesitation, and finally, when they arrived, she’d even taken the keys from Kendall’s fumbling fingers and unlocked the door herself.
Sloane leaned in, taking Kendall’s bottom lip between hers. Her hands snaked up Kendall’s arms, over her shoulders, to her neck, and stayed there while her tongue slipped into Kendall’s mouth. The woman’s breath was sweet and minty. Her body radiated heat.
As if a bell had tolled, Kendall couldn’t resist anymore. She moved instinctively. Her hands grabbed Sloane’s hips, pulling her close until their bodies were flush. Her thumbs grazed those sharp hip bones, over and over, before her palms slid up Sloane’s back.
The kiss deepened, a heady heat building between them, until there was nothing left but the wild, electric sensation of lips and skin.
Kendall was so hungry, she thought she might starve to death.
She hadn’t felt that way in a long time, like she was lost in a desert with nothing but the mirage of a double cheeseburger just out of her reach.
Sloane was her mirage.
But since this was probably a huge mistake, she needed to get a grip.
Now.
Before she could think to end this, Sloane was already pulling Kendall’s dress over her head, and unclipping Kendall’s bra far too easily before tossing it to the floor.
With the same practiced ease, she slipped Kendall’s panties down over her hips and down her legs, letting her step out of them.
She then brought her hand back up and cupped her completely.
Kendall groaned. Loudly.
Bad idea or not, whatever this was, it felt too good to stop.
But Sloane suddenly stepped back. Her eyes roamed over Kendall’s face, her breasts, her stomach, and then to the landing strip between her thighs. Kendall was aching for whatever she had almost convinced herself would happen. Sex with Sloane.
For a minute there, Kendall thought the woman had read her mind, her doubts, that she too considered the entire thing a bad idea.
Kendall was suddenly cold and vulnerable, as if a spotlight had been turned on, focusing squarely on her.
Before she could even think of finding something to cover herself, Sloane lunged forward, one arm coiled around Kendall’s waist, the other hand squeezing her breast as she shuffled them both to the edge of the bed.
When Kendall fell back onto the mattress, Sloane began to undress herself, slowly.
Starting first with the sleeveless blazer, she took her time with each button before she tossed the garment to the floor.
She removed her bra and her breasts bounced freely—beautiful round breasts with hardened pink peaks that made Kendall’s mouth water.
Sloane then did the same with her pants, moving in excruciating slowness until a tightness between Kendall’s legs threatened to overcome her.
“Fuck,” Kendall moaned, staring unblinkingly, not daring to miss even a split second of this show. “You’re gorgeous. I mean, I’ve dated beautiful women before, but you’re like—”
Sloane swallowed Kendall’s words when she pressed her mouth against hers, crawling slowly, moving until she was directly over her before she lowered herself.
Their breasts touched. Their hips flushed.
Legs locked together like perfect puzzle pieces.
The woman was soaked, her wetness apparent on Kendall’s thigh.
And, knowing her own body well, Kendall was just as wet, just as soaked.
But how could she be any other way when this woman was hotter than the very sun that baked the pavement in summer?
Sloane slid one hand down, palming over Kendall’s breasts, flicking her nipple. And then her hand moved lower, grazing her stomach until her hand disappeared in the thin slip of air between their bodies, moving down south to Kendall’s thighs. And then between them.
“Oh,” Kendall groaned. The tightness swelled low in her belly, spreading out as Sloane touched and trailed and dipped a finger into Kendall’s wet heat.
She added another. Two lovely, tantalizing fingers, pumping in and out, in and out, while Kendall’s body wriggled and quivered.
Tiny groans slipped uninterrupted from her throat.
Those waves of pleasure were lurking near, waiting in the distance. They were so close she could almost feel them ready to crash into her like she was the sandy shore.
“You have to stop,” Kendall stammered when Sloane’s mouth swallowed her nipple. “Before I…” But she was too late. Her body went weak as her climax rippled through her.
Sloane laughed. It was a genuine, human-like laugh that Kendall hadn’t thought her capable of.
Kendall was just about to make a joke—she had a habit of using humor to diffuse any awkwardness—when Sloane brought her finger up and licked it.
Kendall whimpered, desperate for more. She wanted nothing more than to taste the woman. She was just about to flip them both over so that Sloane was lying on her back, Kendall on top, eager to push the woman’s legs apart, when Sloane took the lead again.
This time, she pinned Kendall’s hands to the mattress and slowly inched up toward Kendall’s face with her eyes fixed on the woman’s mouth.
Without a word, she moved one leg at a time so that she was straddling Kendall’s face and then she lowered her body down until her center was inches away from Kendall’s mouth.
Sinking her weight onto Kendall’s face, she ground her hips against her mouth as she quickly rode out her climax.
When a low moan left her lips, Sloane loosened her grip on Kendall’s wrists just as her thighs tightened around her head.
“Well,” Sloane said, still breathless, rolling off Kendall and over to the side of the bed like she couldn’t get away quick enough.
“Thank you. That was nice,” she added, standing up.
“It wasn’t exactly the night I had planned, but I can’t say I’m unhappy about it.
How long do you think an Uber will take to get to Beverly Hills? ”
“What?” Kendall muttered. “You aren’t seriously leaving, are you?”
“Yes,” Sloane replied matter-of-factly as she slipped on her pants and buttoned up her blazer. “Didn’t I mention that earlier?” Her expression softened, but not kindly. “You’re lovely, Kendall. Beautiful. So don’t take this the wrong way when I say I hope I never see you again.”
What other way could she possibly take it?
Kendall’s heart sank like a stone as her mind raced to find some clever comeback, some way to salvage the moment.
Although she wasn’t sure what she even wanted to salvage.
It seemed whatever had happened between them was already doomed to failure.
Instead, Kendall just lay there, legs spread out, completely naked, feeling like her tongue was tied in a knot.
Sloane slipped on those red heels and gave one last cold smile over her shoulder. “Goodbye, Kendall.” With that, she meandered out of the bedroom. The sound of her heels clicking on the wooden floor gradually faded away, only to be replaced by a definitive slam of the front door.
Kendall moaned and dragged her fingers down her cheeks. “OMG, what have I done? What a witch.”
