Chapter Thirty
Link
I NEVER EXPECTED to have sex with Annistyn last night.
When Viper called me and said to go to the house because someone was on their way over, I was hoping it was my Pixie.
That she was ready to talk about everything and start to heal the rift I caused in our relationship.
I was planning on laying myself bare for her and explaining everything and then hope she stayed the night.
Even if she slept in the room I gave her when she first moved in.
Instead, she shocked the hell out of me after our talk.
I know there are still more things to discuss, but it’s a start.
I wanted to do so much more with Annistyn than what we actually did.
The second I laid her in bed everything but the need to be buried deep inside her disappeared.
I plan on taking my time with her next time and showing her how good things can be between the two of us.
Showing her how good I can make her feel while expecting nothing in return.
Waking up with her in my arms, I don’t move for the longest time.
I watch her sleep while her body is draped over mine.
Her pale skin stands out against my slightly darker body.
I count the freckles on her arm until she moves her body and snuggles in deeper against me.
Looking down at her, I could stay in bed forever and never want to leave her side.
However, that’s not possible. So, I slowly pull myself out from under Annistyn and grab the sweatpants I removed last night.
Reaching out, I cover her up better and head to the bathroom.
After taking care of business, I wash my hands and leave Annistyn sleeping while I head to the kitchen.
My girl deserves to have breakfast in bed.
I grab my phone from the counter where I left it last night. There’s a ton of missed calls and messages. I spot one from Cali and open that one first.
Cali: I heard Annistyn is back. I want to see her the second she’s ready for me. Please fix this, Kreed. I’ve never seen you happier and you’re so good for her. You give her everything she wants without her having to ask for it. We love you both and are here if you need us.
Smiling, I respond to her message knowing she’s already awake with the kids.
Me: She’s back home. We still have a lot to figure out, but we did talk last night and I explained my side of things.
I’ll tell her you’re waiting to see her, but give her a few days if it’s what she needs.
She was truly hurt by everyone here. I know you weren’t involved, but it doesn’t mean you’re not included in the group in her mind.
We love you too and I’ll keep you updated on things.
Next, I pull up the message from my mom.
Mom: You better find Annistyn and bring her home.
Kreed, that girl is so in love with you and you both need one another.
I know you’re in love with her. Treat her like the queen she is and never let her forget she’s the center of your world.
I love you, but you need to make this right. The entire club does.
Me: She’s home, Mom. She came back last night and we talked.
She was really worried about you and wanted to make sure you were okay and if you needed anything.
We have a long road before things will be fixed, but I’ll put in the work every day.
I love you, Mom. Take care of yourself. Call if you need anything.
Everyone else can wait for me to respond to them.
Nothing matters more than making Annistyn breakfast before she wakes up.
I want to take care of her and show her how much she means to me.
I’ve never made anyone breakfast in bed before.
With Annistyn I want to do all of this kind of stuff and won’t ever make her feel as if it’s out of obligation instead of a desire to do something sweet for her.
Pulling out the eggs, bacon, biscuits, and hash browns, I start preparing everything.
We got the jumbo biscuits this time so she can make a breakfast sandwich if she wants to.
I don’t know that she’s ever tried one before.
We also have orange juice for her to drink.
After cracking the eggs in the heated pan, I separate the bacon and place it on a cookie sheet.
I’ve seen a few of the ol’ ladies bake it instead of frying it on the stove.
As I cook the eggs, I place the biscuits on a different cookie sheet and wait for the bacon to be done.
Just before the eggs finish cooking, I grab plates from the cupboard and have them ready for our breakfast.
By the time I have everything ready to go, I hear Annistyn moving around upstairs.
Grabbing the tray I load our plates and juice on it, I quickly head upstairs to find the bathroom door closed.
Setting the tray on the bed, I sit down next to it while I wait for her to come out.
It doesn’t take long before the door opens and I take in a rumpled Annistyn.
There’s a red crease on her cheek from the pillow and her hair has been thrown up in one of those messy buns.
Sleep fills her eyes as she gives me a lazy smile.
Instead of walking around naked, which I wouldn’t complain about at all, Annistyn is wearing one of my tee-shirts.
It’s a plain black one and barely covers anything below her waist. It’s enough to know she’s not wearing panties. Fuck! This girl will be my undoing.
“Good morning,” she says, her voice raspy as she moves closer to me.
“Mornin’, Pixie. You feelin’ okay?” I ask her, reaching out for her hand and leading her back to bed.
“I’m a little sore,” she admits as I cover her body again and place the tray over her lap. “What’s all this?”
“I made us breakfast in bed. Pixie, last night meant the world to me. You have no idea how it feels to know you trust me enough to allow me to join in on one of your most vulnerable moments. Were you serious about not usin’ condoms now that it’s mornin’ time?
” I ask her, taking my plate from the tray before moving my glass of juice to my stand.
“I mean, if we don’t use them, it won’t really bother me.
I love being around the kids and would love some of my own.
I think I’m ready to move forward, Kreed.
I want you to claim me and get engaged. I won’t ever want a large wedding though.
I’d rather go to the courthouse with a few people instead of being the center of attention for an entire day.
This is stuff I’ve talked about with Debbie because of one of the girls on the ranch now.
She has a very young daughter I helped her take care of.
It made me realize I want a baby of my own.
Debbie believes I’m ready because I’ve been doing really good.
I mean, I had a few rough weeks recently, but she doesn’t believe that will hinder me in the long run,” she answers me and I’m so proud of her again.
I know I say it all the time, but it’s the truth.
Annistyn has done all the work herself with no help other than a few people on the ranch.
“That’s great, Pixie. I hate to bring this shit up now, but Master has discovered somethin’ really important,” I tell her knowing I’m about to ruin her world.
“Okay. What happened? Is your mom okay? Cali and the kids?” she asks, sitting up straighter and almost spilling the tray of her breakfast.
“Mom, Cali, and the kids are okay. This is about you, Pixie,” I begin, making a breakfast sandwich.
“Master dug up information about the accident that killed your parents. It wasn’t an accident at all.
Your aunt and uncle had someone cut the brakes of their car knowin’ they were takin’ you out for the day.
Their goal was to get their hands on you because they sold you to some asshole.
He wanted you as his daughter. I have no clue what that means.
I don’t know much about the fucker right now, but Master won’t stop until he knows every detail about everyone who bought you over the years.
Master has also given this information to your uncle.
The lawyer who is buildin’ a case against them. ”
Annistyn doesn’t say anything for a while.
I watch so many emotions filter through her eyes as she turns to look straight ahead.
My girl is processing what I just told her and I need to give her the time to work through it.
I dropped a bombshell on her and it’s going to take her longer than your average person to realize how truly horrible her aunt and uncle are.
I sit next to her in our bed and place a hand on her shoulder so she knows I’m here for her when she needs me.
“I can’t believe this, Kreed. I want to go there right now and confront them.
To find out everything they hid from me over the years.
I’ve never hated anyone in my life until this very moment.
I always try to see the best in everyone I meet.
I know this world is horrible and there is evil everywhere.
I’ve lived through it. Now, I want to know what they were thinking,” she finally says, her voice stronger than I thought it would be.
“I’d love to take you over there right now so you can confront them, Pixie.
Unfortunately, we can’t. We need to have a plan in place so you’re safe.
I don’t want anythin’ to happen to you because we weren’t prepared.
I want to have the guys there with us in case anyone else shows up,” I tell her, setting my plate aside as I hear a knock on the door.
“Okay. I’ll go see who’s here,” she says and I know she needs to get away from me for a minute.
I take the tray from her and hold it over my lap while she gets out of bed and grabs a pair of leggings from the floor.
They’re the ones she was wearing yesterday.
Annistyn disappears from the room as I set the tray back down in bed and get out myself.
Grabbing a shirt, I pull it on before heading down to see who’s here.
I find Annistyn and Master in the entryway as he closes the door shut behind him while turning off the security alarm.
“What’s goin’ on, Master?” I ask, stepping up next to Annistyn and placing my around over her shoulders.
“I just found somethin’ out and you two need to know,” he says and I feel the dread fill my stomach because this won’t be good. “Did you tell her anythin’ that’s goin’ on?”
“I just did,” I inform him as Annistyn tenses under my arm.
“Okay. I just heard back from a contact. The asshole is in Glendale right now. He’s searchin’ all over for Annistyn.
He knows her aunt and uncle sold her again and she was taken to the warehouse.
He doesn’t believe she’s gone. Everyone in that world knows about the rescue and arrests of the men who were there.
Annistyn, I hate to say this, but it would be best if you stayed on the compound until we get a handle on this,” Master says as Annistyn almost crumbles to the floor next to me.
I hold her up and keep her locked against my side.
“Fuck. Okay. Pixie, can you stay here for now?” I ask, needing her to know this is about her safety.
“Yeah. Well, my camera and Oreo are still at the ranch,” she says and I wonder what she’s talking about.
“Who’s Oreo?” I ask her, looking at Master who shrugs in response.
“She’s my dog. I’m adopting her from Roger,” she answers with a small smile. “She’s a great puppy and follows me all over the place.”
“Okay. We can make arrangements to get your stuff and Oreo brought here. I’ll have Viper bring everythin’ back with him. He’s gettin’ ready to leave,” Master says, pulling out his phone and sending a message to him. “Reckless called church. I just left his house.”
“I’ll be there in five,” I tell him as he turns and leaves the house. “Pixie, do you want to come to the clubhouse with me or are you gonna stay here?”
“I’ll stay here. I’m not ready to go there just yet. I’ll go back soon, just not today. It’s already been a lot and I can’t handle anythin’ else. I’m at my limit,” she says as I nod and lead her back upstairs.
Once Annistyn gets back in bed, I place the tray over her lap and point to her food. It’s cold by now I’m sure, but she has to eat something. My girl takes a bite and I turn to grab clothes out of the closet. Getting dressed, I grab my cut from the back of the door before turning back to Annistyn.
“I love you, Pixie,” I say, leaning down and pressing a kiss to the top of her head.
“I love you, Kreed,” she returns, her voice barely audible.
I leave the house and ride my bike to the clubhouse.
By the time I get in church, Master has everything laid out on the table.
He’s got the blueprints for the house, barn, and any other buildings on the farm.
The table is still half empty when I take my seat and tap my fingers on the table in front of me.
Viper comes in last and he’s out of breath.
“Did you take Annistyn her things?” I ask him as he takes his seat.
“Yeah. The puppy was excited to see her. She’s a cute little thing. I’m honestly thinkin’ of talkin’ to Maysen about gettin’ one from Roger,” he responds with a smile on his face as he looks at me.
“Never thought I’d have a puppy at the house, but I won’t tell her no. Annistyn can have anythin’ she wants,” I say as Caleb walks in church and starts laughing.
“Don’t let her hear you say that shit. If I said that to Cali, we’d have a compound full of farm animals,” he says while continuing to laugh and I join him because it’s the truth. Cali loves animals of any kind and would bring them all home if she could. “Church in session.”
Master goes over everything he’s gathered about Annistyn’s aunt, uncle, and the stupid fucks who bought her over the years.
He hands us folders with all the information on everyone.
I flip through each page and become angrier with each sentence I read.
These men are vicious and don’t deserve to breathe the same air as my Pixie.
She should be living in peace without the fear of someone coming after her.
That’s what I plan on giving her no matter how long it takes and what I have to do to accomplish that goal.
We spend a few hours going through everything and looking over the blueprints.
By the time we’re done, we have a plan in place with a few contingency plans in case something goes wrong.
I feel like we’re in a good place and Annistyn will be able to confront her aunt and uncle with us as her back-up.
Hopefully this is one more step in her journey to heal.
