Chapter 17 #2

“Mami, tengo hambre y te quiero comer.”* With that, I lean closer, pressing my tongue against her wet center, and sucking up the fabric into my mouth.

“Cono… Yael…” Her legs shake violently in my grasp, but I don’t stop my torture.

Her juices coat my goatee and my chin—it will stay that way just so I can smell her at all times of the day.

I love eating her pussy. Love seeing her squirm and twist as she groans and moans—always begging for more.

Using my teeth, I tug her panties to the side, then use the rhythm of her song to give her exactly what she’s asking for.

“Dios…” she screams, and I gently bite down on her clit, before licking it all better.

Adri looks down at me, a lazy grin plastered on her face, her mouth open to scream and I shake my head. I don’t care if it’s god, the only man’s name she’ll scream is mine, only mine.

“No lo llames Adri*, it’s me that’s worshiping you.

” I place a kiss into her wet pussy, feeling its pulse.

“Tu eres la gloria,”* I breathe. “The miracle I never deserved, the prayer I never stopped saying.” This time, I thrust a finger inside her, making her arch off the counter. “And I’m your devoted believer.”

Her breath catches, body trembling against mine, and for a heartbeat, the world feels still, the music fades, and it’s only her and I. Two souls tangled in the same history.

“Ruin me,” she begs. “Please…”

And who am I to deny mi Ciela anything?

This is her world, and I’m the planet that orbits around it.

I dive back in, giving her exactly what she asks for.

My tongue working her to the edge, fingers playing her like the perfect string, making her body bow and shake.

Just as I apply the pressure she needs to tip off the edge, the front door slams shut, and a voice slices through the rhythm.

“Adri?”

We freeze, my body tensing, preparing to protect what’s mine even if I have to from my own blood.

My gaze moves to Lenny who stands in the doorway, a bouquet of sunflowers and white roses in hand.

Eyes blank and unreadable as he takes in the scene before him.

There’s no denying what we’re doing, fuck I’m still between her legs and she’s frozen in shock.

The silence is unbearable, and I rise to my feet not bothering to clean the evidence of my meal.

“Te voy a matar, mamabicho,”* he snarls. That must have been his final straw, because Lenny charges forward, his right fist swinging, almost catching me in the jaw. I swing up, landing a hit square in his gut.

Adri’s screaming now, telling us to stop, but this was something that needed to happen years ago.

I didn’t like my cousin, and he didn’t like me.

And now, there’s no pretending otherwise.

We grapple at each other, my cousin mostly.

I try to push him away but he’s a koala trying to cling and wrestle.

While I'm a fighter, desperate for the reach.

Our grunts fill the kitchen, echoing against the tiles, drowning out Adri’s cries.

When I finally shove him off, we’re both panting, blood on our lips and sweat on our foreheads.

And Adri is a mess of tears. He just stares at me.

Not as family, not even a rival, but as the man who took everything he thought was his.

Pero como lo sigues lo perdien*. This shouldn’t be the moment I blurt out the truth.

But what can I say, maybe this is my final straw.

“Don’t be mad now, cuz. I let you have her.” I point at Adri, anger bubbling through scorching rage. “I never told her the truth.”

“Callate* Yael,” Lenny warns me in his usual calm demeanor that’s cracking at the edges. Any other day, I would have probably let this go. After all, I could have spoken out years ago and I didn’t. Yet, the truth demands to be spoken, in order to set myself free.

“You left him,” I start, my gaze moving to Adri.

“Lenny found out about us, because he heard me talk to Neno. He set your brother up, trying to set me up. The thing is, Neno wanted me straight for you. He never called me, because Lenny was the one who had his phone. Those missed calls all came from Lenny.”

Adri's face breaks into an emotion I’ve never seen before. It flashes from anger, to anguish and rage before settling into nothing. Lenny’s face twists in a similar way but it’s more rage and something darker… Something that warns me this isn’t over. She walks past me, calm and collected.

“Adri,” Lenny whispers, his eyes searching for any part of her he can still manipulate. Her hand flies up in the air, before descending with force into his face. The slap echoes off the walls. Lenny instinctively raises his arm, as to return the favor but I’m quicker.

“Touch her and it’s your luto, I’ll be attending next.”

My cousin pulls away from my hold with a grunt, his eyes darting between her and I. Nose flaring and chest falling in quick short breaths. I look down at the discarded bouquet, watching his leather shoes twist them further into the ground.

“Get the fuck out of my house,” I bark out, bracing for another fight.

Only I didn’t have to.

Lenny chuckles, picking up his aviator shades that lay discarded on the floor.

He stops in front of the antique mirror hanging off the wall to fix the collar of his red polo.

Just as my cousin makes it to the door, an idea sprouts in my head.

It’s juvenile and silly, but I know Lenny and no Cruz backs down from a bet.

No matter how stuck up the mayor’s ass, a Cruz plays fair. A Cruz plays to win.

“Tirame una ficha?”* I call out.

He pauses, his hand hovering above the doorknob. “You sure you want that smoke, primo?”

I click my tongue, hearing the smirk on his words. “Been waiting years for it. Now put your mouth where the table is. If I win, forget about Altura. Forget about Adri. Fucking disappear.”

Lenny turns then, a grin painted on his face. “Y si yo gano?”*

I meet his gaze, and shrug. “Then you get the store.” This time, he doesn’t respond. He laughs, low and cruel, before stepping into the sunlight. And something tells me, this the beginning to the end of it all by the end of the summer, Altura will either thrive or cease to exist.
