Chapter 35

Cyra sat at the table, eating the breakfast Dez had prepared. She refused to give her crew any insight as to what had happened in Dez’s quarters. She asked them questions like a captain should. Unfortunately, she couldn’t seem to focus on their answers. The things Dez had done to her body kept playing through her mind like a video. He was the best thing that had ever happened to her and her worst mistake. She had to find a way to keep him at arm”s length if she was going to keep her sanity and stay focused on her goals. She couldn’t let one night of fucking ruin her entire life.

It hadn’t been fucking though. It had been the most intense lovemaking she’d ever experienced. She didn’t know sex could be like that. Maybe it wasn’t like that with anyone else but Dez.

That would be horrible.

To have tasted and never taste again. To have seen color and now be blind. To have sailed weightless amongst the stars only to be forever grounded. She refused to believe it. Dez was just a young virile male. Yes, they seemed to have a connection, one he insisted was once in a lifetime, but she traveled the galaxies. She would find it again, or something like it. It would be good enough.

“Cyra? Hello, Cyra? Anybody there?” Rhysa was waving a hand in front of her face.

Damn, she’d been caught, lost in her own thoughts. “What?”

“I just asked you three times if you wanted to review the revised flight plan with me. We were able to pick up some new data on dust cloud coordinates and I made some modifications.”

“Of course. Right after I finish here.”

“Fine, I’ll meet you on deck.” Rhysa rose to leave.

Apparently the rest of the crew had already finished eating and left.

“I’ll come with you.” Cyra hastily stood and followed Rhysa rather than be alone with Dez in the galley. What could she say to him? Thanks for the orgasms, but you’re still cargo. She couldn’t be that much of an asshole, even if it was true.

Cyra managed to keep herself occupied the entire cycle. She spent more time than required discussing the flight changes with Rhysa. She reviewed the systems with Blaize until her eyes glazed over. That female could make the dead rise just to escape her never ending verbal spew. She met with Bodi. They discussed her duties and set up some communications to be transmitted as soon as they were within range of a communication satellite. She visited with Veda and learned more about hydroponic gardening in space than she’d ever wanted to know. She even updated logs that no one would ever see until her eyes ached. Her thoughts were filled with Dez during every moment. She had avoided checking on the dogs, to avoid him. But she could resist any longer.

She pressed her hand to the access panel on his door requesting entrance. The door slid open almost instantly. Dez stood in the middle of the room. He appeared to have been waiting for her.

“Come with me.”

“Yes, my queen.”

“Your captain.” She said firmly moving toward her own quarters.

“That too,” he said quietly in her ear.

She shivered. He was right behind her. So close he was almost touching her as she placed her hand on her room’s sensor. Once the access panel acknowledged her, the door slid open to reveal her own more spacious quarters. She stepped inside and grabbed him by the shirt, dragging him in behind her. The door closed, and she pressed him up against it, kissing him deeply. More, she craved more of his taste. Craved the feel of his bare skin against hers. Craved the feeling of him stretching her as he thrust inside her.

She stepped back.

“I missed you this morning, my queen.” His gaze seared through her.

“I had things to attend to.” She tugged off her clothes. “I don’t want to talk, Dez.”

Dez yanked his shirt off and dropped it on the bench at the end of her bed.

The sleeping platform was wider than the one in his quarters and not mounted to the walls on three sides. The padded headboard ended below a large portal with a view of the stars.

She planned to use every square inch of this big bed. He sat down and carefully removed his shoes. Laughter bubbled up, recalling the header he took when they were trying to strip in his room the previous cycle. He glanced up, heat smoldered, his arm muscles rippled, and the breath left her body. The awkwardness between them had burned away, leaving heat and hunger.

He freed his stiff cock from the confines of his pants. Her mouth watered and her pussy gushed. “Get on the bed.”

Dez followed her instructions and sprawled across the mattress, his gaze never leaving hers. She crawled over him and as her pussy met his mouth, her mouth met his cock. She wrapped her hand around the base and directed him deep into her throat. He gripped her hips, tugging her lower until his tongue parted her wet lips, lapping at her opening. She gasped around his length, finally fulfilling the fantasy she’d played with the entire cycle.

She licked at the open slit of his head, savoring his strong flavor. More. She sucked him hard and milked him with her hand. She would make him release his cum in her mouth and pull his essence into her body. Anything to get closer to him. The longing for him was inexplicable.

She ran her gaze from the tips of his long toes, up his meaty calves. His thighs supported her arms and her blue skin looked even bluer against his charcoal shade. She dragged her hand slowly up the inside of his leg, committing the smooth warmth to memory. She discovered his sac and caressed his balls. With her nails, she scratched lightly over the skin, the texture so different from the rest of his body. There were no marking on his sac, just solid black. She rubbed her knuckles down the skin behind his balls toward his firm ass.

He rumbled in appreciation, the vibrations going straight to her core and causing her pussy to flutter toward orgasm. Not yet. She stroked the sensitive area again, sucking him deep at the same time. A third time, she pressed against that smooth strip of skin right before his ass. His rumble shifted to a roar. Her pussy spasmed. He erupted and his salty stream shot deep in her throat.

A scream of ecstasy tore through her. Her whole body throbbed and vibrated. Her core clenched around his fingers as his tongue continued to work her clit until she had to shift away. She was spent. She rolled off him. Dez spun around and took her in his arms and held her, his front to her back.

“Thank you, my queen.”

“You don’t have to thank me, Dez. If anything I should be thanking you for the best orgasms of my life.”

“I am glad that we both found equal amounts of pleasure with each other, once again.”

She caressed the muscles of his arms, tracing the dark lines that traversed his warm, gray skin. “Where were you today? I was all over the ship, but I never saw you.”

“I worked out. Did some light training with Princess. Exercised the other thuringies. I tried out your water chamber. It isn’t as relaxing without gills. I took inventory of our food stuffs and planned out the meals for the next several cycles. I helped Veda with her plants. They are growing quite nicely. We should have our first harvest soon.”

“You were busy. I’m amazed we didn’t run into each other at all.”

“I didn’t wish to interrupt your work. When you were in the same room as I was, I retreated into the shadows to allow you to work without the demands of your mate.”

A tinge of regret that she couldn’t be his mate stuck in her throat. She swallowed it down. “You were in the same room with me today?”

“Yes, my queen. My markings allow me to utilize the shadows better than others. As your gills allow you to enjoy the water more than others.”

“I wish you would have interrupted me.” And at that moment she did. But that sentiment would become a problem once they arrived on Kolben. She’d spoken from her heart, but she shouldn’t.

“I will remember that in the future.” Dez kissed her neck where it met her shoulder. He continued to nuzzle her, kissing her hair, her ear lobes, sucking gently. He took the tip of his tongue and traced the edge of one of the flaps of skin that separated to reveal her gills. She moaned involuntarily and thrust her hips back into him, finding his growing erection. He was so much warmer than her. He grabbed her hip and kept her ass pressed tightly to him. His cock was almost in her cleft. It was so good, so naughty. He should be inside her already.

Cyra raised her leg, opening herself up and tilted her hips back further taking the tip of his head between her wet, needy lips. Dez released a potent growl. He moved his hips and shifted his tip inside her.

“More,” she demanded.

He responded by pressing inside by the tiniest amount, still licking and kissing her skin. He released her hip, shifted his leg to open her completely, and squeezed her breast. His other hand was in her hair. She couldn’t move and he wouldn’t move. He was making her insane with unfulfilled need. “Now, Dez. I need you to fuck me, now.”

“How, my queen? How do you want it?”

“Hard. Now.”

He rolled her forward so that she was face down on her bed. He released her breast and her hair and pulled her hips up and back and he thrust hard, fulling seating himself inside her.

“Yes,” she screamed and braced her arms so that she could push back to meet him. He wasn’t making love any longer, he was ass-pounding fucking her exactly as she demanded. Exactly what she needed to get out of her head. He was all the way inside her, filling her and making her forget that they didn’t have forever.

He thrust faster and harder. The tension in her body built and built, straining her skin to hold her together. He leaned forward and bit her neck below her gills, overpowering every other sensation. The pinch hurtled her atoms through a billion quantum bridges, scattering her through space.

Wetness pulsed over them where they were connected. Jets of hot cum filled her spasming cunt. She screamed again as another wave ripped through her, leaving her boneless. He held her together, anchored to the bed until she quit shaking. They lay there without moving, his soft cock still sheathed inside her.

Cyra wasn’t sure when she fell asleep or for how long, but she had the best rest she could remember. She freed herself from his embrace went to her private bathroom for a quick clean up before she retreated to the deck. She didn’t wake Dez. She had no words for him. How could she acknowledge what they had and what they would ultimately lose?

She tiptoed past the bed to retrieve a fresh uniform.

“Are you avoiding me?”

His deep voice startled her. “Hardly, I’m right here.”

“You haven’t said two words to me. I would have liked a kiss on waking up.”

“I’ve never had someone stay with me overnight.” She sat on the bench and put one foot into her pants. “I wasn’t sure what the protocol was.”

“It’s not about protocol. It’s about affection.” He crawled along the bed behind her, swiped her hair aside, and kissed the back of her neck. The touch of his lips shot through her body.

She turned in place and kissed him on the lips. “I just don’t know what to do with you, Dez.”

“How about we decide not to decide? For now. Just enjoy the time we have.”

“I didn’t know I would like sleeping with someone.”

“Not someone, Cyra. Your mate.”

She closed her eyes and turned away. “So you say.”

“I’m not going to argue with you.” His hands skimmed her shoulders. “I’m going to spend as much time with you as possible. I want to sleep with you every night you will allow me to do so.”

“Okay.”

“Truly?”

“Yes.”

He kissed her neck again. “I’’ll go cook for your crew, my queen.”

“Your captain.”

“That too.”

“Cyr?” Veda had found Cyra.

Did her best friend realize she’d been avoiding her?

“You can’t hide from me any longer,” Veda said as she stepped into the galley.

So much for eating at an odd time. “I haven’t been hiding.”

“Have you come to your senses yet?”

“About what?”

“Really, Cyra? You’re going to play it that way. Dez. Have you made the correct decision about Dez?”

There was no decision to make. “I’m delivering him to Kolben, along with the dogs and the food from Arbotriz.”

“Are you insane? You’ve been spending every night with him. He’s your mate and you’re in love with him.” Veda crossed her arms and raised a judgmental eyebrow. “Unless you’re just using him as a sex slave.”

The words slapped her. She gaped at her friend’s harshness. “I would never use a sex slave. I’ve never treated Dez as a slave or used him in that way. We’re enjoying each other, for now. We both agreed to this.”

“So, you love him.”

Love was such a huge word. Dez hadn’t dropped it for cycles, but it seemed Veda was ready to take over. “I never said I was in love with him. We agreed to spend the time we had together. That time is ending.”

“You are so ridiculously stubborn, I can’t even begin to understand how you think. You have a male who worships you. He adores you and has done nothing but help you as you took over being captain of this ship. Yet you plan to drop him on a god forsaken planet and leave him to die.” Veda shook her head.

“I’m not leaving him to die. Don’t be so dramatic.” Cyra picked up her empty dishes and cleaned up the galley, hoping Veda would let the conversation drop.

“He hasn’t told you.” Veda’s voice was low as if she was talking to herself.

Cyra glared at Veda. “Told me what?”

“I did some research. His people…they can’t be without their mate for very long or they’ll die.”

“Oh please. Just because you read that on some site doesn’t make it so. He would have told me.” Wouldn’t he? “Besides, I’m not his mate.”

“Don’t be dumb on purpose.” Veda huffed and left.

Cyra stared at the empty doorway. She dreaded their arrival on Kolben but she couldn’t change anything. It was an unfortunate situation that Dez believed she was his mate, not a dire medical emergency. They weren’t the same species. She couldn’t be his mate. It was an impossible.
