Chapter 3 #2
I wanted to believe him, but I knew the Association.
I knew the leader, Credare. He was ruthless and mean.
He didn’t even bat an eye when ordering the deaths of those who slighted him.
He didn’t even pause when demanding the deaths of their families.
I knew without a doubt that once he got wind of my treachery, my family and I would be dead within a month.
They were going to come for me, and I wouldn’t have anywhere to run.
Even Bane wouldn’t be able to protect me when they came.
I’d have to figure something out and soon.
“Come. Let’s eat some breakfast and then we’ll go meet up with the scheduled arrival of our next batch of smuggled goods,” he said, and I nodded, careful to keep my expression neutral. He glanced at me for a moment, cocked an eyebrow before he turned, and I breathed a sigh of relief.
I followed him down to the kitchen, where he programmed a hearty breakfast of bacon and eggs to appear on the table. I sat down and dug in, finding myself hungrier than usual.
“Worked up an appetite then?” he said with a chuckle and I shook my head, unable to keep myself from smiling, just a little anyway. Instead, I hid my face by turning toward my plate. I ate a few more bites before my curiosity got the best of me.
“What kinds of things do you smuggle here?” I asked and he shrugged.
“Pretty much anything. Weapons. Drugs. New tech,” he answered.
“People?”
“Sometimes. Yes, but that’s pretty rare,” he replied, his tone matter of fact.
“You profit from the slave trade?” I pressed, narrowing my eyes with suspicion.
“No. Not like that. Sometimes I smuggle them here to escape the Intergalactic Coalition. Aiding the escape of an innocent witness in a crime, or maybe the criminal himself for the right price. Others that want to get away from their sorry lives somewhere far away. I give people an option when they don’t have another,” he replied and the tenseness in my body softened.
He lifted his eyes to meet mine.
“Pricks like the one that tried to kidnap you yesterday are dealt with harshly here, under my leadership,” he added.
I nodded curtly, and it was then that I realized that I was beginning to respect him. He was strong and powerful, but under all that bravado, he might actually be a good man. I didn’t say anything about that though. Wouldn’t want to give him a big head or anything.
I smirked.
“I’d have given that bastard a piece of my mind, sooner or later,” I replied.
“Sure, you would have,” he countered, not believing me. That was fine. I’d happily let him underestimate me until I could find my way out of here.
Shortly thereafter, we finished our breakfast and made our way out the door after I pulled on my boots.
We walked outside and were greeted by several guards stationed outside the doorway.
At the end of the front walkway was a small, metal-plated flying shuttle.
I looked at it with trepidation, eyeing the rusty shell.
I mean, I’d flown in way worse-looking things before but this one looked like it was ready to fall apart in the next five minutes.
“Get in. It’s disguised,” he explained, a smirk playing at the corners of his lips.
I sighed and then he pulled aside the dingy-looking curtain.
I climbed in first and gasped as I saw the luxurious interior, red velvet-lined seats, and gold trim.
I reveled in the cool artificial breeze circulating inside the shuttle.
“This is nice,” I murmured as I took a seat.
“Freed it from some nice Coalition folk,” he said with a wink and I laughed.
“Yeah. Sure, ya did,” I replied with a grin.
“That was back when I was doing the smuggling myself,” he added.
“Explains why it looks like a hunk of junk then,” I retorted, my tone light.
He chuckled as the shuttle rattled a little as it rose into the air.
I leaned toward the side and moved the curtain, peeking outside the filthy window.
Below, the abandoned suburban sprawl of Dryac spread out, people walking the streets toward the city center.
Off in the distance were the landing fields. Where I had arrived only yesterday.
“What is it you want me to do as your assistant?” I asked then, dropping the curtain and turning back to him.
“I want you to be my eyes. I want you to watch for signs of deceit, for money exchanging hands other than my own. In my line of work, people underestimate women like you. They let down their defenses,” he answered.
“How will I know what to look for?”
“You’ll know. You’re a much smarter woman than you let people believe,” he said, his tone sincere and I chewed the inside of my cheek, analyzing him from my seat opposite his.
“If I see something, how will I let you know?” I asked.
He grinned.
“I’m sure you’ll find a way,” he replied.
I was quiet for the rest of the journey. Several minutes later, the shuttle rattled again, and I felt it settle on a cushion of air. The door slid open. Bane pushed the curtain aside and then turned to me.
“After you,” he said with a smirk, running his eyes up and down my body.
I bet he just wanted to see my ass in this slutty little skirt. I shook my head and climbed out, making sure to wiggle my ass just a little for him. He laughed and slapped my backside, catching my right cheek with a solid spank.
I squealed and straightened, reaching back and covering myself.
“Just remember one thing, Cara. You’re mine and no one is going to take you away from me. Ever,” he said darkly, and a thrill raced down my spine.
I wanted to hate him, but I couldn’t because when he talked like that, I liked him even more. Even now, I could feel liquid heat gathering between my thighs and I flushed just a little at the realization.
I shook my head and started walking in the direction of the landing fields.
“Mine,” he growled. “And when we get back, I’m going to fuck that tight little body until you beg me to stop. And then I’ll fuck you harder.”
A shiver raced down my spine and I swayed my hips a little more as I took the lead, knowing his eyes would be on me. The skirt was so short that I was sure he could see the bottom curves of my ass cheeks. Hell, he could probably see the red handprint he’d just left on my backside too.
Honestly? I kind of liked it.
* * *
A short while later, a rusted, dirty freighter ship landed not far from our position. Many guards had arrived, surrounding both me and Bane. They moved outward in a large ring and armed themselves with their own biometric weapons as the ship’s latch lurched open.
“Bane! My man!” a tall blue alien bellowed from inside.
He strutted down the gangway and I took a step back, instantly getting a weird feeling from the man.
I couldn’t put my finger on what it was though.
He looked innocent enough. Maybe a bit overweight with a white beard that could use a serious trim.
His eyes shifted from Bane over to me and he grinned.
I lifted my chin, blushing slightly as I felt him look over my body.
He was probably imagining me without the scraps of cloth that covered me.
I shot Bane a hateful glance and he smirked before he turned back toward the blue alien, his expression turning serious.
Several other younger-looking blue alien men pushed massive crates on wheels out of the ship, passing nervous glances to each other as they did so.
Hmmm. Something was off about these men.
I moved closer to Bane and pushed my hips to the side. With my fingers, I started to play with my hair, twirling it while I arched my back just a little, pushing my breasts up and out. With my other hand, I traced the skin of my throat.
I’d captured the attention of the blue men. They kept their eyes on me and not Bane then and I giggled, catching the gaze of one of them. He smiled at me and lifted his eyebrows suggestively.
Fucking gross.
I kept smiling at him though. I sauntered over to the gathering of crates, watching as some of the men tensed while Eyebrows kept watching me.
I wagged my tail back and forth, dragging my fingernails along the crate.
The men had relaxed some, but then I touched a smaller black crate and even Eyebrows tensed.
Something was in that crate that didn’t belong.
I continued my journey and then I purposely stepped on my bootlace, untying it with a single smooth motion.
I scoffed out loud and bent over, giving the blue men a premium view of my ass as I did so.
Slowly, I tied my laces and then stood, glancing back to see the drooling faces of the blue aliens behind me.
Convinced that they were sufficiently distracted, I made my way over to Bane and came up behind him. I dragged my palm down his back and around his waist, then across his hip until I cupped his cock in my palm.
I gripped it roughly, leaned in, and whispered in his ear.
“Black crate. Something’s wrong with that one,” I said quietly, and he moaned in response.
“Fucking hell, human. Later,” he answered, his voice loud enough for everyone to hear and I knew my ploy had worked. I squeezed his dick once more defiantly and he groaned, very clearly aroused.
“Want me to spank you here in front of everyone, naughty girl?” he said next and all the blue men laughed.
“I’d like to see that,” Eyebrows replied.
Fat fucking chance, buddy. Keep it in your pants.
The overweight bearded blue alien came forward. He was probably the captain then. I watched him closely from beneath my lashes, catching his nervous tics as he glanced toward the crates and then back at Bane.
Bane bantered with him back and forth for a while, before he handed over a slim piece of plastic.
“Untraceable credits. Available immediately upon deposit,” Bane said.
Blue Beard nodded and I saw a twinge of relief pass over him. Bane walked away and the two men parted. Once Bane reached the guards though, he paused.
