Azeira
The door to the room I was being held in pushed open. I shot my widened eyes to it, noticing a man I’d never laid eyes on before.
After uncuffing me, again Kairus had left me alone. The odd part of it all was I wasn’t sure if I was happy or upset he hadn’t been back. The last time he was in here and threatened to cut me I wanted to fight it, but I got turned on. It was sick, but I couldn’t stop the wetness from forming between my legs when he bit my breast. Every time I showered, I studied the teeth marks now tattooed on my skin.
The only time I had any human contact was when the woman who brought me food came in to bring me something to eat or clothes. It didn’t matter though because she never spoke to me when she came in, barely made eye contact. It made me wonder if she was being held captive as well. I was growing stir crazy being alone day in and day out. I had lost track of time, not even sure how long I’d been here at this point.
My attention went back to the guy. He stood at the door with a snarl on his face and cold, empty eyes.
“Get up,” he commanded in a deep and gruff voice as he stalked toward the bed.
“Stay away from me.” I scrambled toward the wall, not sure what was happening.
He went to reach for me but I slapped his hand away. “I don’t have time for this shit,” he grunted and snatched me by the hair.
“Let me go!” I bellowed, swinging my arms wildly.
“Unless you want me to beat your ass, I advise you to chill the fuck out!”
Not listening, I grabbed his wrist and bit down.
“Ah, you bitch!” he shouted. He backhanded me, causing me to let go and fly onto my back.
“I should fuck you up for that.” He examined the wound.
I held my face, glaring at him. “I swear I don’t know why the boss is even bothering with a bitch like you.” My eyes bucked when he pulled a syringe out of his pocket. “I should have some fun with you before I deliver you to him.” My head shook quickly.
“No, no!” I kicked my feet as he climbed on the bed. He grabbed my ankle, yanking me forward. His hand went to my neck and he squeezed. “Either chill out or I’ma break your fucking neck.”
I struggled to get words and a breath out. Tears clouded my eyes. I felt a poke in my neck and soon blackness followed.
I blinked a few times to get my eyes to focus when the bag was pulled off my head. A shiver passed through me at the coolness in the room. I wasn’t sure if the air conditioner was on full blast or if it was cool because of the concrete floors and walls. My eyes bounced around and my heart lurched.
“Daddy!” I shouted, attempting to move but my hands were secured behind me.
“. Honey, I’m so sorry,” he pleaded. His cheek was bruised, his lip busted and bleeding.
“What did you do to him!” I screamed, tossing my eyes toward Kairus who stood at his side. Coldness covered his face. His eyes were vacant of any emotions until something twisted and he stalked toward me.
He grabbed my chin and examined my face. I yanked out of his grasp. “Don’t touch me!” Blood rushed through my head, causing a headache to form.
Kairus stood straight and turned toward the man who brought me here. I watched as he pulled a gun from the small of his back.
“You put your hands on her.”
The guy’s eyes darted to me and filled with fright. “Boss, wait she—” Before he could finish, Kairus lifted his gun, sending a bullet between his eyes. His body dropped.
“Get his ass outta here!” he spat darkly to the man standing next to him. He didn’t even flinch when the body dropped.
My back stiffened, my heart pounded, and my mouth grew dry. Bile rushed up the back of my throat.
“Daddy!” I cried out, fighting harder to break free. Panic shot through me. My chest grew tight.
“Are you hurt, ? Did he hurt you?”
I sniffled as tears clouded my eyes. I shook my head. “I’m fine. What about you? Mom?” I cried.
“She’s fine. Stable.”
Blinking slowly, I sighed in relief. Since being locked up I feared my mom might take a turn for the worse.
“I want to go home.”
My dad swallowed roughly. “Let her go. Do what you want with me, but please don’t take it out on my daughter. She has nothing to do with this!” he shouted, trying to break free.
I’d never seen my dad look as scared and out of control as he did right now.
Kairus spun around, his gun resting at his side. Fear shot down my spine when he stared as if he was looking through me. The scars on his face suddenly looked more frightening.
Tears ran down my face and my stomach twisted.
Kairus stalked toward him and I yelped when he sent the butt of his gun down. “I told you, you don’t make demands here.”
“Stop! Please, stop!” I begged. My wrists burned the more I tried to break my restraints.
“This is how this is gonna go. Your daddy owes me money. He’s unable to pay. Do you know what I do to people unable to pay me?” This time he re-tucked his gun and held his hand out. The man who dragged the other guy away handed him a knife. Kairus forced my father’s head back and held the blade to his neck.
“Don’t do this!”
“People who owe me don’t make it out to tell another tale.” I watched as my dad flinched when the blade pierced his skin.
“Now, I consider myself a reasonable man.” He moved the blade and my dad’s head lowered. He was now bleeding from the top of his head.
The doors to the warehouse opened. The new guy that walked in caused a new wave of fear to pass through my dad’s eyes.
“I see you started the party without me.” He cracked his neck along with his knuckles. The grin on his face was one that made my blood run cold. Nothing about it was friendly.
“What do you want?” Dad asked tightly.
Kairus’s cold stare never left me. “Your daughter.” My eyes bucked.
“No! Anything but her,” my dad blurted.
“You say that as if you have a choice.” The man who just came in walked toward Kairus. Both were roughly the same in height and built, his complexion a shade or two darker. His hair was cut into a fade with a connected beard surrounding his pink lips.
“I see the party is just starting.” He patted Kairus’s shoulder but was shrugged off.
Kairus shifted his eyes to my dad. “The deal is your daughter is mine to own for the next six months. In that time you get my money back, double the interest .” At that last part, my dad’s eyes widened.
“Dou-double?” he sputtered.
“ If you fail to get my money, I’ll kill you, your daughter, and end the suffering your wife is experiencing the moment the clock strikes twelve.”
“But, but how am I gonna get a hundred grand in six months!”
My heart dropped at the amount. “A hundred grand!” I shrieked.
He flinched when the blade went against his skin again. “That’s a problem for you to worry about.”
I sniffed back my tears. Blinking rapidly, I bounced my eyes around the room, hoping to find something that could help.
“Please not my daughter.” The brokenness in my dad’s voice caused my heart to crack open. Right now I couldn’t care less about myself. I just didn’t want my dad to suffer anymore.
“Please, don’t hurt him anymore! My mom needs him!” I begged, but it fell on deaf ears.
“Your daddy here can end all of this if he takes the deal.”
“Not my daughter!” His voice held a little more bass.
A crude grin formed on Kairus’s face while his friend chuckled.
“Then I guess she’ll have to watch the life drain from your body.” Again, he lifted my dad’s head and went to slice his throat.
“No, no! I’ll do it. I’ll do it,” I cried out in a rush. “For six months I’ll be yours, just please. Please don’t kill him.” My body trembled as I cried and my head fell. My throat felt raw. “I’ll do it.”
“. No,” my dad pleaded.
Slowly I dragged my head back up and stared at him with a shaky smile. “It’s okay, Daddy. Mommy needs you. I need you.” I locked eyes with Kairus. “I’ll stay with you.”
One corner of his mouth lifted in a wolfish smirk. He left my dad and walked to me. Grabbing me by the hair, he yanked my head back and stared me in the eyes.
“Agreeing means I own you . Whatever I say, you will do . You try to run, your father and mother are going to die.” It felt as if he was going to rip my hair from my scalp. I winced in pain.
I clenched my jaw. “I get it.”
My stomach felt like a pile of bricks had been dumped inside of it. My body shook with fear, breathing became difficult to manage.
“Good. But just in case you think this is a game. I think I should have some insurance to make sure we have an understanding.”
I was about to ask him what he meant when he forced my head straight to face my dad. I watched in horror when his friend grabbed my dad’s hand and pulled a blade out.
“Wh-what?”
My dad squealed in pain as the knife went down on his hand. This time I couldn’t hold my insides in. When I eyed the pinky on the ground I emptied my stomach all on my lap.
My dad’s cries pierced my ears.
“You try to fuck me over and it’ll be the hand next.” Kairus let me go.
My tears continued to flow and my stomach rolled. I had heard rumors about Kairus’s wrath and even saw glimpses when he came and visited the room he locked me in. The last thing I expected was for my dad to lose a limb in the process. The more I was around Kairus, the more I saw the beast he truly was.
“This will be your new room.” Kairus pushed me away, causing me to stumble. I eyed the room. It was bigger than the one I was held in. There was a dresser, nightstand, and lamp inside. It also came with a window that had a window seat under it.
“Your job is to take care of the manor and keep it clean.”
I glared at him, cowering toward the wall. “This place is huge. You expect me to clean it all?”
I hadn’t seen the whole place, but on the way back I wasn’t blindfolded or anything. I was amazed when we pulled up to the house, seeing how large it was. There wasn’t another house for miles away. Trees surrounded the long driveway leading up to the house.
“You’ll do as I say.”
I bit down on my bottom lip. “So you want to make me your maid? Are you kidding me?” I stood straighter.
“If there are complaints I can go back to Daddy and we can end things here.”
My eyes cut to slits. He flashed me a taunting grin.
“I thought you would agree. For the next six months you’re mine to do whatever I please with. If I tell you to clean, you clean. If I tell you to bark like a fucking dog, you bark. Your ass is mine, it’s best you remember that.” With that, he turned and left the room, slamming the door shut behind him. I jumped and sank down on the floor with my back pressed against the wall. Pulling my legs into my chest, I burrowed my face into them and released my tears. The smell of my vomit hit my nose. My sobs grew and my body trembled.
I couldn’t believe how quickly my life had changed. I didn’t know how much my dad had saved toward his debt, but I was determined to help and get it paid off sooner rather than later.
