2. Solace

Chapter Two

SOLACE

“I want y’all to make sure everything is on point in two days. We all eating well, but can be making plenty more dough. Mattea should be back tonight, and I will be picking her up from the airport.”

I tried to sound calm about her returning, but the truth was I was overly excited to see her sexy ass. She had been gone for a couple of months on one of her biggest paid hits that I assigned her to. She was practically new to the team, and I trained her very well.

“You sure you ain’t doing a little more than just picking her up? Ream doesn’t like us mixing business with pleasure. You know he says it fucks up the vision.” Kat took a long hit of her blunt and gave me a pensive stare.

“Bitch shut yo’ dick sucking lips up. Ream doesn’t give a fuck who I’m laying the pipe to.

You just mad he hasn’t graduated you yet, from being on your knees.

” Kat turned beet red in the face, but it got the job done she shut her fat mouth.

Kat was a sexy, short, thick chick with an okay body.

She wasn’t sloppy fat, but she had a gut on her.

Her face was very angelic looking, so I could imagine why my nigga Ream loved having her down on her knees.

“Why you always gotta be so rude?” Hakeem voiced his unwanted opinion as I gave him a shut the fuck up look and continued to eye Kat’s hoe ass down.

I had a lot of secret beef with her dog ass but put it to the side.

The bitch was hella smart when it came to math, so she complimented the team.

She was my bitch back in the day when we were teens.

When Ream took over his uncle’s business that was handed to them from Ream’s fine ass momma Rellianah, they ran the blue diamond dynasty with an iron fist but retired a decade later wanting to settle down.

The higher Ream rose in power, the quieter he became.

I stayed down and was now his right-hand man.

I basically was the head nigga in charge when he wasn’t around.

His mom didn’t too much care for me. She really didn’t care for anyone for that matter.

Ream and I became close in private school and stayed boys even after graduating.

Ream was a different type of nigga. He was street smart, book smart, and always had the world’s best advice.

While niggas were out shooting dice as teens, turning quick tricks, Rellianah had Ream in boxing, and chess tournaments and kept his nose in the books.

We were like day and night, but I rode hard for the nigga no matter the cause.

“As I was saying, Ream gone be here in a couple days. So, Kat make sure you have all his reports laid out and ready. Last month, you fucked the numbers up by a thousand.” I gave her a serious glare as she looked at me with hatred.

“When will he be ready to meet Reaper?” Hakeem asked as I gave him a look.

I really didn’t have no reason not to like the nigga but at the same time, I felt like he had a crush on my girl or some shit.

They hung out a lot, and Hakeem is who brought Mattea on the team.

Hakeem was Reams cousin, through his uncle Khaos.

Khaos and Cease weren’t Ream’s real relatives, but they were like bestfriends with his mom and had been in his life since he was born.

I gave Hakeem a pass plenty of times because I didn’t want to cause any beef.

It was just something about his always quiet ass that I didn’t like.

He was always observing shit, then speaking on things days later. He went to school with Mattea so the two of them had some sort of bond that they claimed was brother and sister shit. I didn’t put shit past anyone, so I wasn’t buying that with how protective he seemed to be of her.

“You know I don’t meet new people, that’s Solace job.

” Ream said from a distance never raising his voice.

He always kept his voice monotone, never yelling or showing emotion through the way he talked.

Everyone stood around the table including me to greet him.

He coolly walked in with his appointed henchman Solo.

Solo never really talked to any of us unless he was addressing Ream.

He was a no-nonsense type of nigga that didn’t look for much of a reason to kill you.

Solo was a big and tall bulky-looking nigga with scary dark eyes that intimidated plenty of people.

Wherever you seem Ream, you saw Solo, followed by guards.

Ream dapped everyone up, including Kat’s hoe ass that stared at him with dreamy eyes. I slapped hands with him and brought him close. Instead of releasing me he pulled me closer and talked lower.

“Once everyone leave, I need to holler at you.” Releasing me, he took a seat at the head of the table and gave a nonchalant smile.

“I made it in town a little early. I expect reports and a run down by tomorrow morning, so everyone needs to be here early.”

Everyone nodded in agreement and grabbed up their things.

Kat strutted up to him with confidence leaking threw her pores.

They talked lowly and as she turned to walk away, he palmed her ass.

I wondered if he was fucking her now. Shaking that thought off I looked down at my phone and noticed it was Mattea texting me saying she was already at the airport.

I wanted to jump out of my seat and run to her but couldn’t.

I hope she wouldn’t be upset; she should have been understanding since she told me she wasn’t going to be here until nighttime.

Mattea was complicated as hell I didn’t understand how a twenty-four-year-old was still a damn virgin.

She didn’t open up much to me, her attitude was bad as hell. Half the time when I looked in her eyes, she seemed like she had something she was mentally battling. I was determined to break her ass down and make her mine.

“I’m about to go pick Reaper up from the airport.

I really think you should meet her Ream.

” Hakeem said with a smile on his face. I didn’t even get a chance to respond to her yet and here she was asking this nigga to pick her up.

I couldn’t speak on it in front of Ream because when it came to Hakeem’s young ass he would snap.

“As I said, I don’t meet new people. She was your decision to bring on into our intimate circle.

I just hope your judgment is right with her.

When the time comes, I will meet her. I might have a huge job for her out in the Dominican Republic that I need her to handle.

” Ream smiled, as Hakeem nodded his head reluctantly.

Seeing his disappointment, Ream followed up by what he said.

“You seem to be close with her. Bring her by my club tonight, I don’t need an introduction.

I will observe her through my office.” Ream sparked up a blunt as Hakeem dapped him up and walked off happy.

I cursed in my head and made a mental note to pull up on Mattea in the am.

Once the room was clear, I rolled me up a blunt and put my phone on do not disturb.

We made small talk while Solo stepped away to take a phone call.

That’s when I decided to bring up an issue that I had been hearing about concerning Solo.

“You know, I been hearing about a nigga on the southside name Debo. He been causing problems for Solo selling work from that he’s coping from the Italians.

” I gritted. I knew my thing was the paid hits.

I wanted to do more in the dynasty, so I tried to keep a close eye on Solo. I hoped he fucked up one day.

“Why wait until he walks away, that’s something he needs to know. You already know the drugs is his operation, I just supply whatever it is he needs. Solo always knows his enemies. You need to focus more Solace.” He gave me a serious look, that pissed me off.

“I am focused, my ears always to the streets. You my boy, so you know if I hear some shit, I’m gone make it known.” I reminded him.

“That’s good, but at the same time, it’s not good to focus on what the next man got going on.

That’s too close to counting his pockets.

I say you need to focus more, because I’m not understanding why a rookie bitch that Hakeem put on has already went on a mission that I didn’t approve of.

Seem like she got y’all nigga’s smitten. ”

“Who told you that?” I gritted.

“Nigga does it matter? Do I have to remind you that this is my shit? Nothing passes go, without me hearing or knowing about it. Which is why, I don’t need you informing me about Solo’s side of the business.

” Ashing his blunt he looked away and told one of his guards that he wanted a glass of cognac.

That young-looking guard ran off to get what he requested as he focused back on me waiting for a response.

“I trained her well and she’s lethal.” That’s all I could say. I didn’t like the way he put me on the spot.

“Her pussy must be lethal if she got you making dumb decisions. Solace, you my boy and I got love for you. I would hate to have to put you on ice if you make another rookie mistake like the one you made. You went months without informing me about this new chick being put on a high-risk mission. I don’t need shit falling back in my lap because someone spotted her or know that she took out the got damn mayor of Atlanta.

So, I hope you did train her well, I hope the pussy hasn’t blinded you. ”

“She a virgin, Reaper ain’t on that type of time with me. She’s just real cool.” I reasoned not trying to reveal much.

“Nigga a virgin? So, you ain’t hit and she got you making dumb decisions because you trying to break her in? Leave her alone, I don’t need an emotional woman on the team because you done took her virginity. Focus on your wife and kids’ nigga.” He cocked his brow up at me.

“It ain’t shit like that, and she far from emotional. Like Hakeem said, you need to meet her.”

Nodding his head, he lightened the mood asking how my kids were doing. My kids were his God-kids, and he took pride in them. Ream spoiled my two kids like they were his which made me respect him even more. When we stood to leave, he mentioned Mattea again, which had me kind of tight.

“So, she a virgin? You ain’t at least taste the pussy?” he smiled as he put his arm around my shoulder. Solo was now walking behind us in front of the guards, and I heard him chuckle lowly.

“I tasted the pussy, that’s about it. I wasn’t impressed because she smokes cigarettes shit tasted funny. So, trust me when I say, I ain’t sweating that girl. Don’t want her at all.”

That was some pussy shit for me to say. I didn’t give a fuck though, I had to throw salt on Mattea so Ream didn’t find any interest in her.

Ream couldn’t stand a woman that smoked cigarettes and acted like a nigga, so I knew for a fact his interest in meeting her and possibly fucking her was now gone.

I told a flat out lie because Mattea’s pussy tasted like candy.

“I can’t believe you put yo’ mouth on a woman that smokes those cancer sticks. That’s why I don’t smoke behind you niggas at all.”

I laughed off what he said. I made my way to my whip and didn’t start the car because I was trying to call Mattea.

She sent me straight to voice mail and it pissed me all the way off.

I needed to tighten up and focus more. The last thing I wanted was for Ream to question the way I handled businesses.
