Chapter Thirty-Three
HAKEEM
“Let’s just come back out here tomorrow and see if this bitch nigga made it back in town or come back from wherever he’s at.
” Mattea looked down at her phone like she was anxious to be somewhere.
We were camped out across the street a couple of blocks down from Tre’s house.
It was nearing ten at night and I wondered where she was in a rush to get to.
Even her attire wasn’t her regular baggy get-up.
Her ass had on black leggings with black Nike air max shoes and a black hoodie that fitted her kind of snug.
Out of all the years of knowing her ass, I never saw this woman wear some fucking leggings.
“Shit, we could have got this out the way had you not stood me up a couple of nights back.” I looked at her as she flicked her cigarette out the window. After she rolled it back up, she glared hard at me.
“That’s my business why I didn’t show up, I end up having shit to do.” She replied back defensively like she was trying to hide something when I never asked her why she hadn’t shown. Since she was hiding something, I decided to fuck with her even more.
“Shit, last I checked with my cousin Ream, you ain’t fucking with the dynasty and outside of that, I know your ass ain’t got shit else to do like that.” I chuckled as I watched her shift in her seat uncomfortably.
“Don’t believe the shit that nigga Ream say, I’m actually on an assignment with him. Since you want to be so nosey.” She rolled her eyes and pulled her personal phone from her hoody and typed some shit in real fast.
“Yea I hear you.” I gave her sneaky ass the side eye.
Something was really different about Mattea.
When I picked her up, she was happy to see me, gave me a big hug something she normally wouldn’t do.
The only people I have witnessed her hug were her siblings and parents.
When I tried to explain me and Kachella to her and where we stood, she waved me off and told me we both were grown and could do what we wanted.
Long as I didn’t put my hands on her she didn’t care.
She kept saying Kachella was grown and could do as she pleased.
She talked the whole time instead of me picking her brain.
Although I loved to see her happy and stepping out of her tight box.
I still wondered what had got into her. I started the car and slowly drove away from Tre’s new spot.
I couldn’t wait to kill this nigga and tend to other things.
I was ready to go home and catch up on some rest. Things with Kachella was kind of getting weird and I regretted giving her the dick to soon.
I still liked her a whole lot but was starting to feel like she was moving things too fucking fast for me.
She called me all day and sent text messages.
If I didn’t respond to her text, she would facetime me and ask why I was taking so long to respond.
Shit like that, I wasn’t used to yet, which is why I wanted us to take things slow.
Finally pulling up to Mattea’s street, she had me drop her off right next to her car.
She quickly said her goodbyes and hopped out and got right into her whip.
I pulled off and looked through my rearview mirror watching her yank a U-turn and go the opposite way.
I just hoped whatever her ass was up to she was being smart and safe.
Finally making it home at about eleven thirty, I had stopped at McDonald’s before arriving to feed my growling stomach.
The first person I spotted standing at my door was Kachella.
Her hair looked fresh like she had just got it done and re-dyed to blonde which looked good as hell on her.
The only thing was, I didn’t want company tonight.
All I wanted to do was eat shower and lay the fuck down.
“I have been out here for an hour waiting on you!” She snapped as I said nothing, just opened my front door, and entered.
Turning on my lights she plopped down on the couch and snatched the remote control off the coffee table.
I guess I was about to argue with her because she had to go.
I had been chilling with her ass all week and I felt like she should understand me needing some space tonight.
“Kachella, you gotta go home baby. I got a lot of shit to do tonight, and I wasn’t expecting company. We also need to establish some boundaries to what we got going on because we not even a couple yet.”
“So, what are you saying?” She looked at me like she was confused which was starting to piss me off. Usually, I had the patience, tonight I didn’t, and I hated explaining myself when a person should have already known the deal.
“I’m saying we ain’t together, and I don’t got to explain myself to you. You need to start calling like everybody else before popping up at my shit.” It came off wrong, but I didn’t have time to sit here and go back and forth with her. Uncrossing her legs, she started to bounce her right leg fast.
“Nigga please, you just want me to leave ‘cause you want to have one of them dusty-ass broads fall through.” She rolled her eyes as I pinched the bridge of my nose.
“You know what, get up and get out. This shit with us ain’t gone work.” She stood to her feet and rolled her neck with each word she spoke.
“You damn right it ain’t. It’s your loss never mine.” I watched her walk out and I did nothing to stop her. I was just happy to have the place to myself for the night and get my mind right alone.
