AVERY
I feel him inside me before I even open my eyes. My lips twist into a smile, and my hips move on their own, rocking back against him as he thrusts, hitting all the right places.
Then I feel his lips against mine, his tongue pressing into my mouth. I open for him, spreading my legs wide. My eyes open to a wall of muscles—mountain man muscles. They flex and ripple with each stroke.
“This is a nice way to wake up,” I mutter. I don’t even know what time it is. “Are you my alarm clock now?”
He chuckles into my ear. “Alarm cock.”
I erupt with laughter. “That is such a dad joke!”
He nods as he caresses my breasts with his rough palms.
“That doesn’t mean it’s not true.”
I’m about to respond, but that’s when I feel his finger on my clit, and a rush of sensation silences me. My voice catches in my throat as the pleasure hits me. Rourke is unstoppable. He already knows exactly what I need, and as he bottoms out inside me, I’m almost afraid of what’s about to happen.
“I’ve already come three times today,” I manage to gasp. “Are you trying to kill me?”
His lips gently caress mine as he smiles. “There are worse ways to die.”
Just a bit more pressure on my clit, and I go off. I yelp as yet another orgasm tears through me. It’s like being struck by lightning. He cups the back of my neck and goes off with me, growling as we come together.
My whole body goes tight as I slowly regain my senses. His body is like a slab of hot, primal man, and I can’t keep my hands off it.
“I am never leaving.” The words just fall from my lips without thought. But they’re exactly what I wanted to say.
“No, you’re not,” he growls back. “And if you tried—”
“You’d tie me to a chair?” I giggle, looking up into the ocean of his blue eyes. Gently, he threads his fingers through my hair, brushing it back and out of my face.
“Only if you want me to.” He winks. “But I think it would be more fun to tie you to the bed.”
Something buzzes through me. A new form of excitement. Like he’s igniting yet another place within me that I didn’t know existed. Just knowing that he could stop me from leaving is a massive turn-on.
“Or just tie me up?” I suggest, running through the scenario in my mind.
“Don’t tempt me,” he growls.
“Oh, so you won’t do it?”
Smirking, he leans in and lets his teeth drag up the soft skin of my throat. “Oh, I never said that, angel.”
I’m still not sure what time it is. I’ve deliberately avoided looking at a clock. Maybe it’s because it makes this whole experience feel like an incredible dream, or maybe it’s because I can’t get my eyes off my mountain man.
Rourke.
“I should take you out on the snowmobile,” he says, handing me a coffee. I point to my clothes, still hanging on the line by the hearth.
“Wearing those?” I giggle. “Or do you have a bunch of women’s snow gear stashed away somewhere?”
He slips his arm around my waist and pulls me close. I’m still just in one of his T-shirts, which smells deliciously like him. And he’s wearing a pair of rugby shorts that are so short they might as well be briefs. They do an incredible job showing off his muscled thighs.
“A buddy of mine runs a shop about a half-mile away. Mostly for tourists, but I could pick you up something there.”
I frown. “So you do leave the house?”
He chuckles, waving his arm at the cabinets filled with supplies. “Where do you think I get all this? Or did you think delivered up here?” I laugh and part my lips to welcome his kiss. “I make a run now and then. But I wear a disguise just in case.”
“A disguise?”
Setting his mug down, Rourke smirks and walks to a closet door I hadn’t noticed before. “Yeah, you wanna see it?”
“Please tell me it’s not a Pokemon.”
Still smirking, he opens the closet door and steps inside. When he emerges a few seconds later, my jaw actually drops. If I hadn’t memorized every inch of his physique, I would not recognize him.
Covering his eyes is a massive pair of black sunglasses. But below that, the thing that’s really throwing me off is a fake mustache. Almost like something you’d picture an old cowboy rocking.
“Wow.”
“I call it my sheriff look,” he chuckles, striding back over to me. I giggle as he wraps me up in his arms. “What do you think? Should I arrest you?”
I blush but nod eagerly. “Only if it involves handcuffs.”
Rourke slides his hands down and grabs my ass tightly.
“You are so naughty.”
He starts to kiss me, and I eagerly let my tongue dance over his as the fire inside me rises. I don’t know how we’re ever going to get anything done around here considering how quickly we both turn each other on.
But just as he presses into me and I feel his bulge starting to harden between my thighs, he pulls back.
“Christ, look what you do to me,” he grunts, taking a large step back. Shaking his head, he gulps a heavy breath. “If I don’t leave now, I’ll be back inside you, and the store will close.”
Licking my lower lip, I play with the hem of my T-shirt. “Oh, we wouldn’t want that, would we?”
I see the desire in his eyes, matching what I’m feeling in my chest. But just when I think he’s about to jump on me, he purses his lips and waves a finger at me.
“Don’t you do that, angel.”
“Do what?” I reply, playing innocent.
He lowers his eyes, calling my attention to the bulge between his thighs. My nostrils fill with his scent as he steps closer to me. He leans in like he’s going to kiss me, then brings his lips to my ear.
“I’ll have plenty of this for you when I get back, princess.”
Kissing me, he turns away, and I watch as he slides into a pair of snow pants and a jacket. It almost makes me mad. I’m not used to seeing him any other way than half naked.
“I’ll be back before you’ve finished that coffee,” he says, plucking some keys from beside the door.
Slowly, I sit back on a stool and let my legs fall apart, giving him the whole show. The reaction on his face is priceless. Never in my life have I felt this kind of desire from a man. Especially not one of this caliber.
So this is what love’s like…
Even from the door, I hear Rourke growl as he turns and steps out into the snow. I hear the lock latch behind him and take a deep breath. It feels strange being alone in this enormous home. I’ve only ever been here with him. Inches away from him. Or with his inches inside of me…
Realizing I’ve never been upstairs, I stroll to the second floor, taking slow sips of my coffee as I explore.
There are several more bedrooms, clearly unused but made up.
There’s a room filled with books, like an old British manor.
And at the end of the hall, there’s a sitting room clearly designed just to look out at the incredible view of the mountain.
Feeling all fuzzy inside, I stretch out on a lounge chair and look out at the snow. It’s everywhere—a beautiful white landscape. Even the treetops are covered. The sky is clear with only a handful of cumulus clouds.
This house is my home now. The thought is hard to process, but it’s true. I belong to Rourke, and this house belongs to him. I think, to make things official, we’ll have to have sex in every single room at least once. I’m sure he won’t have a problem with that.
My mind starts to drift back to our earlier…events, when something out the window catches my eye. Movement.
I squint, but all I see are shapes. Standing up, I move closer to the window, and that’s when the shapes come into focus. Men. Three of them, all in black, and they’re armed. And they’re headed for the house.
He found me. He found us!
My heartrate skyrockets. I drop my mug and run downstairs as the adrenaline courses through me. My blood burns, and each breath tears through my lungs like acid as I search for my phone.
“What are you thinking!?” I curse at myself. My phone was trashed when I crashed my car. It’s buried under two feet of snow. And even if I had it, I don’t have Rourke’s number.
The sound of the snowmobiles outside grows closer. I turn and see them pull up outside. The three men hop off and race for the back door, moving like a hit squad. Like trained soldiers.
I do the only thing I can think of. I race to the closet and hide.
But just as I close the door, I hear the sound of wood splintering, followed by hushed voices.
My heart pounds in my chest. The hardwood rumbles beneath me with each step the men make.
I hear one going upstairs and another moving into the bedroom. But another is moving this way.
I want to scream, but who will hear me? The only man in the world who could protect me is gone.
The door whips open, and I cry out as I find myself facing down the barrel of a rifle.
“Boss!” a husky voice calls out. “Found the bitch.”
The next thing I know, I’m being pulled out into the living room. I squirm and fight the best I can, but it’s hopeless. These men are much stronger than me. I try to kick out, but someone grabs my ankles. And then, everything goes black as a bag is pulled over my head.
I’m going to die…
