Chapter 10 #2

But other parts of her took over. The parts that had been picturing Simone when she touched herself became everything. Simone covered her sex with her fingers and massaged the outer lips lightly.

“Do you still want me to touch you like that?” she asked. “It’s never too late to change your mind. Never too late to say no.”

Caroline swallowed and then she opened her legs wider. “Please. Please.”

Simone’s expression grew dark and possessive before she ducked her head and let her mouth join her hand between Caroline’s trembling legs.

For a moment she just kissed with a closed mouth, stroking in time with her fingers.

Caroline twisted at the sensations rocketing through her.

She wanted more, wanted everything until she exploded like a star as she’d seen that woman do in the hell.

“Easy,” Simone whispered against her and the vibrations of the words on her sex made Caroline gasp in pleasure again. “We’ll get there.”

Simone opened her outer lips with her fingers, further exposing her.

She felt so wet she was embarrassed to be seen that way until Simone licked her and took every drop of her arousal with her mouth.

Caroline collapsed back against the carriage seat, swept away as Simone went to work on her sex with precise strokes of her talented tongue.

She was gentle, then harder, tasting every inch and then slowly spiraling down to the nub of what Caroline had learned was called her clitoris.

The place she played with to make herself come.

Simone was far more certain in how she did that and the long licks slowly turned to more focused ones, then gentle sucks, then harder.

Caroline twisted beneath her, pleasure ramping up, rising to a fever pitch.

She tried to hold off, to cling to this magical moment where everything felt so sharp, but then she was gone, fallen off a towering cliff as wave after wave of impossible pleasure wracked her entire body.

Simone continued to lick through it all, never ceasing, never giving quarter, never releasing her from the outrageous power of the pleasure until Caroline was a limp pool on the carriage seat, unable to even moan anymore she was so spent from the experience.

Simone looked up at her, face half-shaded in the dim carriage.

But her expression was feral and almost feline as she smiled and then eased back into the seat beside Caroline.

She cupped Caroline’s cheek and bent to kiss her.

She tasted herself on Simone’s lips, something sweet and dark and wanton.

They kissed for a while and then Simone pulled away, knocked on the back wall of the carriage and shifted to the opposite seat.

“Happy birthday.”

Caroline blinked as she smoothed her skirt back down over herself. “H-happy birthday?” she repeated.

“You said it was yesterday. The gift may be belated, but I hope you liked it,” Simone explained.

Caroline tried to find her gaze, but Simone dodged it. Her heart sank. “Was that why you did that? Out of pity over my complaints about my age at the hell?”

Simone shrugged. “Of course not. I don’t give pity fucks, Caroline. This was for fun and I hope you had that.”

Caroline drew in a long breath. She’d thought Simone didn’t wear a mask at the Donville Masquerade because she was already revealed to all around her.

But that wasn’t it. She didn’t put on a mask because she wore one all the time.

It was in her ability to separate one moment from the next, to cover her emotions until it sometimes seemed she felt none.

But she couldn’t feel none. After all this time, Caroline didn’t believe that. She only wished Simone trusted her enough to let her past those wicked, well-scarred walls.

“I had a great deal of fun,” she admitted, and realized the carriage was slowing, turning into her drive. That must have been why Simone knocked on the wall, to let the driver know he could finally stop. Caroline blushed as she wondered what he thought about what the two women might be doing.

But then again, that must have been why Simone had chosen her rig and her driver for the assignation. Privacy. Lack of questions or revelation or judgment.

They stopped and for a moment Caroline continued to stare across the expanse between them.

It was hardly more than a foot, but it felt like an uncrossable chasm.

She wanted to ask Simone to come inside.

She wanted to talk with her and then take her up to bed so she could spent time exploring her the way she had been explored.

She wanted to share breakfast with her in the morning and then do it again and again and again.

“Good night, Caroline,” Simone said gently, putting a swift end to those fantasies.

Caroline nodded slowly. “I—yes, goodnight, Simone.”

She opened the carriage door and found one of her servants had come to help her down.

She let him, glad that she could stand on her own legs when she was still shaking from everything that had happened that night.

She looked back but Simone’s carriage was already pulling away.

If Simone was watching her, she couldn’t tell.

She sighed and went inside, went upstairs. She didn’t ring for her maid, but sank down on her knees before the fire after she was alone. Her body felt alive in a way it never had before. Like she had only been asleep until Simone woke her up in the most powerful and explosive way.

And then she’d ridden off like it was nothing. Worse than that, it was possible it was nothing to her. And so Caroline would be forever changed, and Simone would just carry on with her week and forget.

A thought that was sobering as she gathered herself and managed to launch herself into her bed for what she was sure would be a sleepless night.
