Epilogue

Harley

Six months later

“Carter,” I whimpered, looking down to where he was filling me with his cock.

I was sitting on top of him, my back turned away from him, his hands gripped my waist, and he was guiding my movements on his shaft.

As always he was in complete control.

“Get there, Dynamo,” he muttered from behind my back where he was reclining on the pillows.

“God,” I threw my head and moaned as he once again guided me down.

His hands squeezed my hips and he stilled me.

“What’d I say?” he grunted.

He couldn’t be serious.

“Please,” I breathed and tried to shift my hips, but his hold was too strong.

“Warden, please, I need to move,” I begged.

“You know what you need to do,” he said, his voice strained.

Some small part of me was glad that it was costing him the same as it did me, and I tried to deny him, I really did. But my need for him was too great.

“Carter,” I breathed.

His hand moved then from my hip and up my torso. He pinched my nipple, and muttered, “Smartass.” but with his other he guided my movements.

I watched, my mouth open, my breathing turning shallow, as his palm trailed down from my breast, over my belly, and between my legs.

He found my clit with his fingers and started rubbing.

My vision turned white and my back bowed as I flew impossibly high in a swirl of emotion until I lost my breath.

I could feel Carter jerking inside me, his tremors becoming my own as his hands came around my body, and he pulled me down on top of him.

As he always did, once our breaths had even out, he palmed my breast and cupped me between my legs.

And he started petting me.

“Hmmm,” I hummed and turned my head into his neck.

I was still lost in the daydream that was us, that somehow became my reality, when he said in my ear, “Marry me.”

My face split into the biggest smile of my life, I tilted my head and looked into his cognac eyes, “I thought you’d never ask.”

“Maybe we should turn back around,” I bit the inside of my cheek so hard I tasted blood. “I mean, we don’t need to do this. This is silly, we shouldn’t do this now.”

Carter chuckled from the seat next to me, his eyes on the road, “What’s this, Dynamo. Are you experiencing a stage fright?”

“As if,” I scoffed.

We were in Denver. We landed last night, and I honestly couldn’t wait to see Alina, Rory, Sky and Carter’s brothers.

Being in L.A. this past few months, and even before that, finishing the tour, meant it was hard to see them regularly.

Sure, we spoke on the phone a lot, but every downtime we had, Carter and I spent up the mountain in the cabin that will feel like home for the rest of my life.

It was almost our sacred place. A place where we became an us.

But with what happened this morning, and a ring that sparkled on my ring finger, I suddenly had an urge to run away and shout our news from a great distance.

“Oh, I think she’s scared of how Rory will react,” Jason popped out from the back seat and I shrieked, grabbing Carter’s arm and almost sending us straight in a ditch.

“Where did you come from?” I gasped, holding my chest once Carter managed to right the car and keep us on the road.

“Oh, well…” Jason scratched the back of his hair.

I turned to Carter and slowly asked, “What did you do?”

His shoulders were shaking, and he was biting his lip.

“Carter,” I smacked his arm. “Why is Jason in our car.”

“Rory has a new client,” he said, his voice shaking from trying to hold back his laugh.

“No, she doesn’t,” I tilted my head. And then it came to me. “You’re after tickets.”

“Oh, we got them,” Carter glanced at me, a glint in his eyes. “Two days ago.”

“But then why are you still here?” I asked Jason. “Shouldn’t you be back at home?”

Jason opened his mouth, but I put my palm up, “Wait! Does this mean you were in our home this morning?”

It still felt surreal to call the house here and the cabin our home.

“Well-” Jason shifted then launched. “The moment those noises started coming from your room, I put my ear buds in.”

At my horrified look, he raised his hands, “I didn’t hear anything, I swear. I just needed some rest. With her hormones, I can’t even walk into the room, without having Rory jump me. I never thought I would say this, but I need to rest. I can’t fuck her all day, every day.

The car came to a stop so sudden, I had to brace against the dashboard.

Carter turned stormy eyes on Jason, “Just this once, I’ll pretend I didn’t hear what you just said. But if you ever mention fu-” he gagged. “Doing that to my sister again, I’ll bind you, and drag you to the nearest bar, and pour liquor down your throat.”

It was an ultimate threat.

Jason didn’t hold his alcohol very well.

The last and only time Ryan boys got him drunk, he ended up in a jail cell, begging Rory to save him from them.

“You wouldn’t do that,” Jason gassed.

“Try me,” Carter growled, then threw the car in gear and started driving again.

“But, Rory’s pregnant, how do you think that came about?”

“As far as I’m concerned, it’s a miracle, and not a horny quarterback's doing.”

“No,” Jason shook his head, a proud glint in his eye. “That was all me.”

“That’s it,” Carter slammed on the brakes. “You’re walking from here.”

To his, and my, ill fortune, we were in front of Jason and Rory’s house.

“No problem, man,” Jason clapped Carter on the shoulder and opened his door. “Oh, by the way, congrats on your engagement.”

We got out, Carter coming around the car and claiming me with his arm over my shoulder and slowly started walking towards the door.

“We can still run,” I whispered from the corner of my mouth.

“It’s going to be all right, Dynamo.” Carter pulled me into his side. “They’ll be over the moon. They love you.”

“I know,” I sighed. “I just don’t want to steal Rory’s thunder. This is the first time we’re going to be all together since she found out she was pregnant, and she’s already five months. This should be her moment.”

Jason looked back, and before he opened the door, he threw me a wink.

As he went in, he yelled, “Rory, love of my life. I have news. Guess who got engaged this morning.”

In a blink, Rory was standing at her front door, a look of pure happiness and rage warring on her face.

Before either of us could say something, she reached out and pulled me into her eyes, “I’m so happy that you’re going to officially become my sister. I can’t wait. Honestly, i’m over the moon.”

The words were rushed, her embrace was fierce and it settled something within me. Something that still ached. Something that in some form would always hurt.

But hearing Rory’s words, I realized I would never again be alone.

“Now, get in, and get warm.” She pushed me inside.

I turned and could see she was staring Carter down, her finger in his face. “You. You plotted to kidnap my husband. And did the dead.”

“I didn’t kidnap him.” Carter defended himself.

“Why haven’t you brought him back two days ago, when I gave Max the tickets.”

“Wait, how do you even know it was my idea in the first place?” Carter eyed his sister.

“It’s my fault,” Max grimaced as he walked down the hall to the door. “She came into our room, and threatened to sleep with us if I didn’t spill.”

“So what?” Carter frowned.

“Well, I was in pain. I hadn’t seen Skylar for three days.”

“And how did she know to come to you?” Carter pushed. “We had a plan, all of us were supposed to be out of town. She would never guess where he was, or who’s idea it was.

“That was me,” Chace mumbled, raising his arm, shuffling to the huddle. “She waited for Alina and I to come home. And then, once we entered our room, she turned the lights and asked if we could have a slumber party.”

I was seeing a theme here.

“You cock blocked them?” Carter gasped.

“I wasn't getting any, so why would they.”

A laugh boomed from behind me, and Jason took my hand pulling me deeper into his home, “C’me on, Harley. Let’s sit, and enjoy the show.”

At his words, Carter smiled, “Well guys, it’s time to get Jason drunk.”

“Oh no , you won’t” Rory got up on her tiptoes.

“Payback’s a bitch, sis.”

I could hear Rory's growl, and Max’s and Chace’s mirth as they closed the door and walked deeper into the home.

Alina grabbed my hand and awed and ohhed over my engagement ring. Skylar was talking softly to Max.

Jason was nuzzling Rory’s neck, and Chace and Carter watched everyone with soft smiles playing on their mouths.

This was it.

This was what I was looking for all my life.

My found little family.

For the first time in my life, I belonged.

And I had someone to call my own.

My eyes found Carter’s, and I mouthed, “I love you.”

His face got gentle, but that was the last thing I saw before I turned around and accepted a hug from Alina, my sister of heart. And soon to be an official one.
