Kendall #3
I’d let myself fall for him years and years ago, but that had all been a fantasy.
Something I could think about when I was alone and know it would never happen.
There’d been something vaguely painful about being in love with a guy who could never love me back, but I was suddenly discovering it was a much more pronounced agony to have a tiny part of him and know I could probably never have more.
I moaned, arching my back as my balls drew up, all my muscles tensing as I came, his harsh, aroused panting echoing in my ears like a fucking symphony.
I let myself fall into the bliss, grateful that my mind went totally blank so my dark thoughts couldn’t ruin it.
I’d barely floated back down before I heard him speak.
“Was that good?”
I felt slightly hysterical by the mix of emotions suddenly boiling inside me, but I could only laugh, covering my face with my palms for a moment.
When I slid my hands away from my eyes to look at him, he was staring at me expectantly.
Hanging on my words, like my answer was some huge determining factor in the happiness he would experience for the rest of his life.
Maybe I could have more of him, if I could figure out a way to make him understand how devoted and loyal I would be.
That being with me wouldn’t be anything like his marriage.
That I’d never let him feel neglected or lonely ever again, as long as we were both alive.
But it wasn’t the time to ponder that stuff.
We’d tested fate long enough. I was surprised someone hadn’t already stumbled onto us back here.
“So good, baby. I can’t believe that was your first time.” And it would definitely not be his last time, if I had anything to say about it.
He let out an exhale, as if he’d been holding his breath in anticipation, and looked so much more relaxed.
I noted that he’d let go of my softening cock but kept his hand clenched on my hip, like he wasn’t ready to stop touching me yet.
Most of my cum had shot out onto the ground, so he hadn’t had much to wipe away.
“Well, I mean, I’ve… You know, done it to myself enough, so…”
“Still,” I insisted, gently peeling his hand off me so I could pull my shorts back into place. My underwear was sticky, but I could deal. “You were perfect.”
Obviously pleased by the compliment, he made a happy little noise against my mouth when I lifted up to my toes, wrapping my arms around his neck for one more quick little make-out session.
I wasn’t sure how long it would be before we could do this again, and I wanted to make sure he had plenty to think about.
The more I cemented myself in his mind, the better.
When he finally released me, looking reluctant enough that I knew I’d done my job, we carefully slipped back out of the alley into the crowd.
The sun hit my eyes hard enough to make me squint, the music and noise back in full effect.
The perfect little sanctuary we’d created was gone, but…
My heart was basically gooey marshmallow fluff in my chest. He would probably need time to adjust, to come to terms with the line he’d crossed by getting me off this time, but I could help him with that.
“Hey,” I spoke up, just loud enough that he could hear me over all the commotion. “You can text me, you know. Anytime. For anything.”
He stared into my eyes for a long stretch, before his perfectly sculpted mouth slowly stretched into a small smile. It felt like watching the sun set.
“Yeah. Okay, Sparkles. I’ll text you.”
I opened my mouth to say more, but a familiar voice from behind us stopped me in my lovesick tracks. I’d sort of forgotten, for a moment, that he’d come with Benji and Josie.
“Hey, you guys!” She called out, and my eyes scanned the crowd until I saw the two of them heading toward us, Josie’s tote bag bulging with purchases already.
“Oh, hey Rhys, you found him!” Benji said excitedly, before looking my outfit up and down and laughing as he shook his head. I’d already posted pics of my outfit in our group chat, but I guessed he thought it looked wilder in person. I wasn’t offended. I knew I looked hot.
“Uh, yeah,” Rhys stuttered out. At least I knew he’d never be able to lie or hide anything from me. Everything he felt was always stamped right on his face. “I found him.”
“We ran into each other just right now,” I supplied, blinking innocently at them.
“Ha!” Dolly’s dry bark of laughter cracked through the air so loudly that I was surprised it didn’t shatter windows.
Rhys paled, slowly turning to face her, with an expression of sheer terror in his eyes.
He didn’t need to worry about her ratting us out, but he probably didn’t know that.
And anyway, Benji and Josie hadn’t seemed to notice.
“You’re going to hang out with us now, right?” Josie questioned, and I glanced back at Dolly.
“Well, uh…”
“Go,” she said, waving a hand dismissively at me. “You’re only young once. Have fun with your friends,” she added, emphasizing the last word just enough that Rhys winced again.
“Thanks, Dolly,” I said gratefully. We’d volunteered at a lot of LGBTQ-centered events together, and I’d pay her back next time I saw her.
“Nice meeting you, handsome,” she added, giving Rhys a sly little wink.
“Nice meeting you,” he mumbled, clearing his throat and scampering to Benji’s other side as we walked away.
He was so cute and awkward I wanted to squeal.
I’d thought I’d loved the confident, outgoing quarterback who did sweet things in secret because he was too embarrassed to let anyone know what a softie he was.
But since he’d come back to Cherryvale, I was discovering more and more about him to obsess over.
It was kind of a double-edged sword, because I was already head over heels.
But I couldn’t exactly get rid of my feelings. Better just to embrace it.
And maybe there was a tiny chance that I could convince him that we were sort of perfect together.
If you ignored the whole part about him being in the closet.
And also my best friend’s brother, who might see us being together as some kind of betrayal.
And also the son of the people who’d taken me in as their family when I’d had no one else.
But when he slowed his steps just enough to let Josie and Benji get a few feet ahead of us so he could lock eyes with me and create one brief, secret little moment between us, all of that stuff seemed totally unimportant.
