Chapter 17

Chapter Seventeen

Daniil

Another week had passed, where we tried to act professional at work, only to rip each other’s clothes off the second we were alone.

“You look—” staring at her, I struggled to find the right word. Beautiful barely covered it. Lily looked good enough to eat. My mouth watered for another taste of her, like the one I had earlier, before we had left for work.

If Lily was a drug, I was well and truly addicted, and the more time I spent with her, the more I realized I was actually ok with that.

She was much better than any PA I had ever had. She was fantastic with Timothy, and when we were alone, I blew out a breath. When we were alone, and she curved her delectable body around mine, it was like every fantasy I had ever had came true.

These last five days, since Timothy had come back to live with me and Lily had found out the truth of my situation everything had changed, which was why I was taking her out tonight. She deserved a night off, and if I could show her off, all the better.

For the first time since my wife had died, I had no desire to hide a woman away. I was more than happy for everyone to see her on my arm. Letting my eyes run across her face, I saw her grimace slightly and frown. “What’s wrong?”

She tried to hide it with a smile, but the moment my hand touched her hip, she sighed. “I don’t want to be ungrateful but—”

My face fell. “You don’t want to go out. I mean, seeing you in that dress, I’m not sure I want to either.” My hand tightened until she gasped. “I’d rather peel you out of that dress…slowly.”

A slight pink tinge heated her cheeks. “Daniil.” She shook her head.

“What is really going on in your pretty head, Lily?” I dropped my hand to my side. Clearly, something was going on for her to be wearing that look.

“Its—” She swallowed hard, and I watched her throat move, thinking of other times when she’s had to swallow like that. “Do you honestly think going out with me in public is a good idea? What if people see us?” She sucked in a breath.

“Like who?”

Her eyes darted away. She bit her lip like it was the only thing to eat and she was starving.

I watched her do it for a second before I closed my hands back around her hips and pulled her towards me, brushing my lips over hers until she relaxed.

It was only then that I pulled away. Leaning my forehead against hers, I sighed. “Like who?” I asked again.

“People at work are already talking,” she muttered.

I couldn’t help it, I smiled. If that was what she was worrying about, it was a moot point. “Where we are going, they won’t see, and even if they did, why should we care? Unless you’re embarrassed to be seen with me?”

Over and over again my fingers flexed into her hips, because once I touched her, it was like I couldn’t stop. In fact, the urge to throw her over my shoulder and just go to bed was almost overwhelming.

My eyes scanned the foyer. Maybe I could slam her up against the wall right there and fuck her until she screamed. Timothy was with Anya, so we could fuck anywhere in the house without the risk of interruption.

“No, of course not,” Lily mumbled and drew my attention back to her. “It’s not that. I just—”

I put one hand on her hip, cupped her chin with the other hand and drew her face up until our lips were just a millimetre apart. “I don’t care who sees us together, Lily,” I said forcefully, each word brushing my lips against hers. “Let them gossip.”

“But”

“Are they making things hard at the office?” Maybe that’s what the problem was. She shook her head. “No, not really. Some tried early on, but I mentioned—” she shrugged. “Well it doesn’t really matter what I said. Let’s go out.”

I couldn’t help it, I smiled. I kind of wanted to know what she had said, but that would have to wait.

“Yes, let’s go, I think you will like it.

Not many people know of it, but it’s one of my favorite restaurants.

” Stepping back I offered my arm and after a second’s hesitation, she slipped her hand into the crook of my arm, and I led us to the sleek red sportscar parked outside.

By the time we got to the small French restaurant, I wished I had chosen somewhere out of the city. Lily’s face had literally lit up anytime I was able to go fast. Her squeals of delight as I hit the gas were like music to my ears.

I would never have guessed that she was a bit of an adrenaline junky, but it was clear he was.

Pulling onto the curb, I ran my hand up her leg, dipping my fingers under the scalloped hem of the little black dress she was wearing.

“Next time, we will head upstate and really open her up if you like.” Higher and higher my hand drifted until her thighs were shaking.

“Maybe in the summer we can drive to the lakes.”

Lily’s hand came down onto mine, stopping my slow progress before I could get any higher. “Summer is months away.”

“So?”

“I just mean, we don’t know what’s going to happen in the future.”

I snatched my hand back. She was right, of course. Neither one of us knew what the future held, but right now, I still want her in my life in the summer. Clearly, she was having doubts, though. The tightness was sobering.

Was I falling for this woman? It was a thought that had entered my mind more than once, but in my head, she was falling as well. The fact that she was questioning whether we would still be together in a few months was sobering.

Did Lily still see me as her boss and nothing more? Was it just sex for her?

Taking a deep breath, I silently got out of the car and went to open her door. The familiar anger was building in my chest, even when I knew I had no right to feel it. Lily wasn’t doing anything wrong.

I was the one who had said this was nothing but a business arrangement, and I was the one to break that arrangement by having feelings for her. Taking her hand, I led her forward, and my thumb brushed over the back of her hand.

“Have I made you angry, Daniil?” she whispered from my side.

Turning quickly, I crashed into her, pinning her against the cold brick wall, which made her gasp. She didn’t push me away, though. Instead, she tilted her heart-shaped face to me. Using my thumb I pulled down her bottom lip to reveal even, white teeth and pink gums.

“You drive me crazy, Lily, but any anger I am feeling is not aimed at you. It’s all mine.” My eyes lingered on her lips, but just for a second before my mouth found hers.

Kissing her, even out in the cold in full view of everyone, made me calmer. My heart slowed until it matched her heart’s pace.

“Just like you are mine,” I growled out.

Standing back so suddenly that she sagged against the wall, I smiled. She might not think we would still be in each other’s lives in the summer, but I did because I always got what I wanted, and right now, I want her in my life.

If and when I got bored with her company she would know it, but until then she was mine. I drew her hand up to my lips to kiss it.

“Let’s go inside before you catch a cold.” This time, when I spoke, my voice was completely normal, like I hadn’t just made her legs weak just by kissing her.

She fell into step next to me, but I could feel her unease as we were seated in the tiny exclusive restaurant, and I didn’t blame her for that. I knew most of the patrons here. She didn’t, but she didn’t need to know them to know they were staring at her in open shock.

At the back of the tiny place, there was a half-circle booth with a clear view of the whole restaurant. I let her slide inside first, and then I followed her.

I’d asked for this table because it gave me a clear view of any threats that came my way.

“Danill.” Under the table, her hand landed on my knee, causing me to smile.”This place is beautiful.”

“You just wait until you taste the food.” Half turning to her, my eyes darted down to the swell of her breasts, where they were pushed up, and my mouth watered. Now, I had her here. I wanted her home where I could peel that sinful dress from her tight body slowly, possibly with my teeth.

The thought was so tempting that my cock twitched.

“Although I’m starting to think that I might have to kick everyone else out.”

Lily’s eyes widened. “Why?”

Leaning forward, I brushed her hair behind her ears and brought my lip to it.”Because,” I whispered. “The only thing I really want to eat right now is you. Do you even realize how delectable you look? Good enough to eat.” My lips brushed the shell of her ear, and she trembled.

The hand she had on my knee fluttered slightly. Reaching under the table, I caught it and dragged it up my thigh, pushing into my cock so she could feel first-hand just how hard she made me.

“This.” I nipped on her ear and was rewarded by the smallest of moans.”This is what you do to me, Lily, fucking every second of every day. I can’t get enough of you.”

She didn’t answer me, but her eyelashes fluttered as she closed her eyes. Her hands cupped me. A small smile spread across her face. It was the same look she had worn when she had climbed into my lap in my office.

A look of pure triumph.

Lily liked the idea of being in charge and driving me to distraction. She enjoyed the feeling of power it gave her, and I could let her believe she was in charge for now. But just for now, until I was ready to take what was mine and make it scream my name again.

“You have two choices, Lily,” I said gruffly. “You can choose something to eat quickly, or you can keep rubbing my cock, and I’m going to have to bend you over the table right here and now. The choice is yours.”

She blinked. “You would never.”

Pushing her hand into me firmly, I grinned. “Oh, don’t for a second think I won’t claim you right here and now. I could fuck you, and not one person would notice unless you screamed.” I dragged my lips across hers. “Do you think you could stay quiet with my cock inside of you?”

Wide eyes met mine. “Probably not,” she admitted

Grinning, I loosened my grip on her hand. “Then let’s eat quickly, and maybe if you are lucky, I’ll fuck you in the car on the way home.”

The words were barely out of my mouth when my phone began to ring. I froze. “Excuse me. I have to take this.”

I half turned away from her before I answered, keeping my voice low. Even though I knew she didn’t understand Russian, that didn’t mean no one else within earshot didn’t. The voice on the other end of the line was panicked. I listened for ten seconds before gruffly agreeing.

“I’m sorry but—” the words died on my lips. She was studying the menu like she was cramming for a test.

Slowly, she closed the menu and smiled. “It’s ok,” she said with a sigh that didn’t make me feel any better. “I know work is important.”

It was important, but I was begging her to see that she was too.

“Would you like me to get a cab home?”

“No.” I bent over without thinking, cupping her face in my hands, but I didn’t kiss her. “I want you to come with me. It shouldn’t take long, and then we can continue our date.”

Lily’s lips quivered against mine. “I don’t mind going home and waiting,” she began to say, and I cut her off. “You aren’t getting away from me that easily, Lily Ridgeway. I’ll just sort this out and then we can do whatever you want.”

Her eyes seemed to shimmer. “Anything I want.”

“Anything.”
