Chapter 13 Moving In

Chen Fu slunk away.

I looked at Sheng Yi with something close to awe.

“Thank you.”

Even after we’d broken up, he was still that brave, responsible man.

Sheng Yi didn’t reply.

He glanced inside my apartment, then spoke.

“That bluff won’t hold him long. To be safe, you should move.”

Move?

Where?

I fidgeted with my hem. “My wallet isn’t exactly cooperating.”

Sheng Yi’s face darkened. “Either you move out, or I move in.”

I’d rather move.

I hurried inside to pack.

Since I’d only just started my internship, I didn’t have much stuff. A lot was still at the dorm.

One suitcase and a big backpack were enough.

Anyway, I’d already quit. I’d just move back to campus.

I could get the shop owner downstairs to write me an internship certificate!

As I planned, Sheng Yi had already loaded my things into his car.

“Hey, no need. I can go by myself.”

“You know the way?”

Did he think I was an idiot?

I remembered the way back to campus just fine.

But as the car started, I realized something was wrong.

This wasn’t the way to school.

“Where are you taking me?”

“My place.”

“Your place? Why?!”

“With our current relationship, you can’t stay at my place?”

Faced with Sheng Yi’s soul-piercing question, my brain crashed again.

I’d heard of Creditors camping out at debtors’ homes to collect.

Never one bringing the debtor home.

What, scared I’d run?

I sneaked a glance at Sheng Yi.

In the light, the fine hairs on his profile glowed golden down the sharp line of his jaw, along the strong roll of his throat to the elegant collarbone and the lean muscle under his shirt. His long hands had veins that stood out even without effort.

Damn.

Fine, I’d stay. It wasn’t like I was losing anything.
