Chapter 17

CHAPTER SEVENTEEN

KAI

Between late night drinks, good food, practices, talking with the locals, and even some beach time, the first week being in Rio has been incredible.

It’s almost like Jax feels the same way, with simple, sly touches and full-body leans when he’s laughing. There have even been little comments from others, about how we’re such a cute couple, and neither of us has bothered to correct them otherwise.

Is it weird? Is this something we should even be pursuing?

I’m not sure, but when in Rio, right?

It’s been a night of laughter, a week of running around, trying to get the most done in our short time here, and now? Well, now, I want nothing more than to crawl into bed with Jax and see what kind of passion we could make.

There’s still so much night left, and I’m not ready to go home. Though I’d really love to be tangled in the sheets with Jax, watching him live life with a smile on his face and big ‘ol belly laughs? Well, that takes precedence right now.

Getting Jax to see what means so much to me is special too, it’s like letting him in on a little secret.

People know how passionate I am about the sport, clearly with my entire job revolving around it at one point, but really letting him see the real me?

Well, that’s not something that gets shown often.

It’s normally having to be overly professional or stick to some rigid pattern, but he’s forcing me to live in the moment and take on more than just a reporter role while we’re visiting.

I get to see things that I never have before, enjoy the culture, people, and everything this beautiful city has to offer, all while this beautiful man is with me to see it too.
