20. Sincere ‘Sin’

Sincere ‘Sin’

I was laying back against the couch in the same place I was hours ago. This time, I had Donna butt-ass naked beside me. The chain was still hanging around my neck. For some reason, though, the shit felt heavier than it should be.

Maybe it’s because of guilt, or it could be this cocaine I snorted on the table.

Besides the guns we smuggled, we also sell kilos of coke in that warehouse.

As a matter of fact, the next shipment is supposed to happen tomorrow night.

A nigga don’t know how he’s gone make it happen with my main man Cruz gone.

I’m so damn desperate. If I ain’t know Reese was gonna turn me down, I would’ve asked his square ass to help a nigga out. Goddamn, family man, I thought, rubbing my nose.

You would think Reese’s ass would be more appreciative of me saving his life when we were kids. I mean, I robbed them muthafuckas the day before, so I can understand their retaliation, but I still caught a bullet for ‘em. The other shit is irrelevant.

I’m supposed to meet his ass at the studio later on, but I ain’t gone be able to do it. The streets too hot for me to be on.

I was so paranoid, I jumped to grab my gun when I heard banging on the door.

Shit! Them muthafuckas caught up to me. I stumbled to the door with my gun raised in the air. Peeking through the peephole, I relaxed when I saw it was Ronnie.

Unlocking the door, I pushed her inside and closed it behind her. Ronnie scanned the room before her eyes landed on Donna asleep on the couch. I can’t even say the shit wasn’t what it looked like, because she ain’t have shit on but my t-shirt and her thong. Ronnie pointed at her.

“Is that the girl from the restaurant.” Her eyes moved up and down my body.

“And you’re naked.” She walked over to the table, her eyes widened, seeing the line of coke.

“You’ve been doing this? What’s up with the ski mask and gun Sin? What did you do?” she added through narrowed eyes.

I’m too damn fucked up to be answering all these questions. I staggered to the couch then picked up the razor to chop up the lumps.

“What it look like to you, baby girl?” I asked sarcastically, my eyes still on the cocaine.

“You robbed someone is what it looks like.”

“Ding! Ding! Ding!” I yelled loudly, putting the straw to my nose.

“Sin, you really robbed somebody? I shouldn’t be hearing this, and you don’t need to be doing that stuff, especially not with me in here. I’m your lawyer, and you’re making me uncomfortable.” She rubbed her hands up and down her arms. I laughed.

“Where was this energy when I was in them guts baby? You damn sure wasn’t my lawyer then.” I sniffed.

“Sin, please. That’s what I came to talk to you about.”

“What’s that?” I questioned.

“I don’t wanna do this with you no more.”

“I thought we had an understanding.” I stared at her. Her eyes widened.

“What understanding? It’s only been a few days Sin. And judging by your company, you won’t have any problem finding other girls to fuck.”

Ronnie walked toward the door like she was gonna leave. Jumping up, I blocked the exit.

“Where you going?” She stepped back nervously.

“I’m leaving, Sin.” I grabbed her wrist.

“Did I tell you that you could leave?” Ronnie did a double take.

“I don’t need your permission to do anything.” My hand wrapped around her throat tightly.

“I see you done grew some balls, baby.”

“Sin, let me go! Please!”

“Nah, guess what? I robbed somebody at the address you gave me the other day. Since you don’t wanna do this no more, if I go down for this, you going with me,” I threatened. Tears ran down her face as she clawed at my hands.

“I didn’t know anything.”

“That’s not what I’m gone tell the police.” I was so preoccupied with handling Ronnie that I didn’t see Donna get up from the couch.

“Sin, what are you doing to her? Let her go!” she shouted.

“Shut up, hoe!” I roared, not taking my eyes off Ronnie.

Donna never replied, and I didn’t think anything of it until I was knocked upside my head.

“Run!” she yelled at Ronnie. They both took off out the door.

I was too busy on the floor, tryna recover from the hit. Ronnie Russell can run, but she can’t hide!
