23. Sincere ‘Sin’

Sincere ‘Sin’

I had to haul my ass to the recording studio after Ronnie cleared it out of there. I ain’t know if she was gone bring somebody back to my shit or what.

I was sitting in the dark, high off my ass when I heard a noise coming from outside. Jumping up, I run under the booth to hide. Reese ain’t supposed to be here ‘til later on tonight, so who the fuck is this? Since I’m so low, I saw shoes first, a pair of heels, and Jordans.

They whispered lowly, standing in front of where I was. If I didn’t move, I figured they wouldn’t find me.

“Sincere, get from up under that damn booth nigga, we see you!” Reese shouted angrily. Standing upright, I came face to face with Ronnie and Reese.

“How you knew I was here?”

“Your car’s outside, clown ass nigga.” I peeked at Ronnie standing behind him. Reese’s body angled toward hers protectively. So, these muthafuckas got something goin’ on? Reese stepped up to me.

“I’mma ask you once, man, and I ain’t gone repeat myself. You got my sister pregnant?” The heat in his eyes told me he was gone punch me in my shit whether I said it, or not.

I did fuck her during spring break. Raine was all on a nigga, practically begging me to smash in them guts. I had her ass in every position all over her pink ass dorm room.

“So, what if I did? You knew Raine always wanted to fuck a nigga. I just gave her what she asked for,” I boasted with a sinister smile.

Reese’s arm cocked back before he sent a powerful blow to my jaw. Ronnie gasped.

“You violated in a major way, muthafucka! She’s my baby sister!”

We tussled for a good five minutes with Reese tryna pin me to the ground. The coffee table was knocked over when he boomed me on my back.

“She pregnant!” he spat. The only thing I was thinking about is how bad that slam hurt. I ain’t let up though. I knew if I did, Reese was gone get the best of me.

“Raine’s a grown ass woman. She made her own decisions! Get up off me.” I used all my strength to knock him over.

“You ain’t got room to judge me when you fucking my girl.”

“Me and Ronnie not even like that.” Reese had me in a headlock, then let me go, pushing me against the mixer. “But if we were nigga, so what? You ain’t even like her. You just used that damn girl and put your hands on her.”

I looked at Ronnie through narrow eyes. “Fuck her! Don’t nobody break up with me! I do all the breaking around this muthafucka!”

Reese puffed his chest out, his nostrils flared. “Don’t you ever raise yo’ hand at a woman, pussy ass nigga!”

I put my finger in his face. “Man, fuck you too! You always thought you was better than me. I saved you. If I ain’t jump in front of that bullet, yo’ ass would be six feet under!” I raised my hand to beat on my chest. “You owe me!”

“I don’t owe you a damn thing. I shot at that nigga who pulled the trigger, only to find out you started the beef. Still, that ain’t got shit to do with this. You fucked up, Sin!” he roared, his expression hardening.

“And you going down alone! You walking around here with millions in your bank account but still jacking? Make that make sense muthafucka.”

“Nigga, I’m broke!” I shouted, and Reese frowned in confusion.

“Fuck you talking about, man? We just finished a tour six months ago. What the fuck you spending money on?”

“I messed up with the wrong people in a bet. Everything I had lying around went to them niggas. Why the fuck you think I’ve been smuggling guns and drugs cross the border?” I confessed, and his head reared back in shock.

“What?”

“You heard me...” BOOM!

A noise sounded from the front door. Ronnie screamed in fear while Reese moved her behind him protectively.

“NYPD, come out with your hands up!” Oh shit!

I looked around for somewhere to go when I realized the closest exit was the front door.

“Sin, come on man. Just turn yourself in,” Reese pleaded, but he should know me better than that.

“Hell nah. They gone kill my ass in prison. I can’t go up in there.” I tried to find something to defend myself with, and my eyes landed on Reese’s gun on the floor. He must’ve known what I was thinking about.

“Don’t do this.” He moved Ronnie off to the side of him, stepping closer to the gun.

“It’s a better way. Don’t go out like this Sin,” Reese urge me, and this the first time I heard real fear in his voice.

“Sincere Dupree!” a voice called out from a distance. “We know you’re in there. Come out with your hands up, or we’ll be forced to enter!”

My heart rate doubled in speed at the thought of being sent to prison.

They must’ve found my car the same way Reese did.

It ain’t no way I see myself getting out of this one, even if I take Ronnie down with me.

This muthafucka finna turn into the wild, wild west because they won’t take me out without a fight.

“I don’t have a choice, man. They got my ass.”

We both went for the gun at the same time. Reese reached for it first, but it fell back down. Then, I got it in my hands, with him still tryna snatch it from my grasp. None of us suspected something was gonna go wrong, until it did.
