Chapter 21

Chapter Twenty-One

I only maul my prey and suck out their souls on Thursdays

“My turn.”

He nudged me back until my skin touched the cool tiles on the wall. Lowering himself, He kissed and sucked anything his mouth could reach before tossing my leg over his shoulder. Not even a full breath exhaled before his tongue touched me, and my hands gripped his hair.

“Oh!” I moaned.

He licked, sucked, and kissed me until I exploded moments later. My legs quaked, and my whole body shivered as the waves of my orgasm crashed over me. This was way better than the solo session I had in the shower thinking about him.

“More,” he growled, and his finger entered me.

“Rylan!”

I screamed as he fucked the inside of me with another part of him. Every lick and thrust hit spots I’d never experienced with another. I came again, and this time my legs gave out. He helped me down and pulled me into his lap.

“I can’t.” I shook against him which each spasm of the second set of orgasms.

“Yeah,” he answered.

I felt like we were on the same page.

That was epic.

After our rapid heartbeats calmed, I rested my head against him.

“What now?” I dared to ask, unsure if this was a one-time thing. Or would I be able to call him for his dick any time? I wasn’t up for a relationship, that I knew.

However, friends with benefits was another story.

“Do we need a what, now?” His hands gently rubbed my back.

“I guess not.”

Dear old insecurity peeked her head out of the shadows.

I felt my age and lack of experience again.

Dating and sex felt so complicated as an adult.

As a young person, there were rules. You checked yes or no on the paper if you wanted to date.

When you did stuff with people, it was because you were together.

Things had changed, and I felt out of sorts about it.

“I can feel you thinking.”

He chuckled, and I wanted to hide further into his shoulder.

Great.

“Temperance.” He softly lifted my head off his shoulder to face him, refusing to let me hide.

He was so damn hot. Those eyes, those cheekbones, that jaw, and finally those sexy as hell lips that I’d somehow yet to kiss.

“We can do whatever you want. I mean… whatever. If you want to become something, I’ll explore that with you. If you want to call me when you want to play, I’ll be ready.”

“Seriously?”

“Seriously.”

“What if I want a foursome?” Of course something like that would pop out of my mouth.

“Then I’ll be inside you, watching you experience pleasure from multiple mouths.”

He smirked, and my eyes widened. I’d asked a wild question and gotten an honest answer. Naturally, I pushed the boundaries to see what they were.

“What if I wanted to see you with another man or to get married?” I smirked.

“Those are two different realms of conversation, but being with a man while you watch doesn’t scare me away. And as for marriage…”

His eyes glazed over, like he didn’t even see me in front of him.

Did my question make him glitch?

“Rylan?”

He shook his head and looked at me with a smile.

“If that’s your way of proposing, Star, then I accept.”

“You’re ridiculous.”

I was not getting married or having a foursome right now. The fact that this billionaire, who could have literally anything, was open to hitching his horse to mine was beyond me.

“I get it. Right now, I want to finish cleaning up and get dressed.”

“Sounds good, but first… there’s something I need to do before we move on.”

“Yeah?”

“Yeah,” he whispered, leaning closer, our lips a mere breath away.

He needed a kiss, and for some reason that felt scarier than my lips on his cock. I waited, nervous but ready, as he closed that final inch to press his lips against mine.

It was a simple kiss and not what I expected. He kissed me tenderly, like he had all the time in the world to enjoy each peck. No heated devouring, or body possession that I knew he was capable of.

He took his time ending the kiss then pulled away with a smile.

“I thought you were gonna maul me or try to suck out my soul.”

Again… I wished I could nail my lips shut. No wonder Piper said wild things. It was hereditary. She didn’t get it from her dad, this came solely from me, though I’d never admit it out loud.

Rylan scooted me to the side, and we rose to our feet together.

“Not today. I only maul my prey and suck out their souls on Thursdays.”

He rinsed off one last time then stepped out of the shower. I laughed and stepped into the water he vacated. He’d witnessed the unhinged side of me, and for reasons unknown he didn’t run away. I would have.

I finished cleaning myself then stepped out to a fresh towel waiting in Rylan’s hand.

“Thanks.” I dried off while trying not to stare at his muscles too much. I obviously failed, but I don’t think anyone could have won that game.

“I’ll grab you some clothes.” He stepped out of the bathroom and returned moments later with sweatpants and a shirt.

“I’ll bring them back,” I promised.

“I can get new ones if you don’t.” He shrugged and left to get dressed.

I slipped his clothes on and sniffed for good measure. Lavendar and mint.

He caught me sniffing when I stepped out of the bathroom, and I immediately straightened. “It’s the same fabric softener I use.” Flustered, I attempt to shrug off my weirdness. “Right. Um, I probably have half an hour left. Mind if I chill for a bit?”

“Of course.”

He moved to the couch and patted the cushion beside him. He said this was whatever I wanted it to be. Cuddling didn’t seem like a bad idea. It didn’t mean I had to take him up on the offer of marriage.

Cuddling could just be cuddling.

“I haven’t met a billionaire before, but I never thought they’d be like you.”

“You’ve never read romance novels? I’m just like every hot, love-sick billionaire in fiction.”

I stared at him like he’d spoken an alien language. He’d just compared himself to every billionaire in romance. There was no stopping my laughter.

“Oh my God. You didn’t just say that.”

“Pretty sure I was the inspiration behind that trend,” he continued, and I laughed so hard I thought I’d pee on his couch.

“You’re so beautiful when you laugh.” He grinned and those words slowed my humor fit.

“Okay, Mr. Romance Trendsetter. You can stop impressing me now.”

“Never.”

He winked and reached for a remote on the arm of the couch. I needed to waste time and watching something would make it go by quickly.

He settled on some action movie I hadn’t seen, and before I knew it, he pulled me into his side with my head on his chest. I listened to the movie and the steady rhythm of his heart in tandem.

I should have known better, but after a few minutes of silence, the soft sounds and the warmth of his body lulled me to sleep.

The day had finally caught up to me, and there was no fighting it.

“Goodnight, my star,” he whispered.

I felt myself being lifted and carried. But to where? His bed? My room?
