Chase and Claim (Dirty Daddies' Underground #6)

By Billiejo Priestley

Blaze POV

The club pulses with its usual heavy beat, the bass thumping through my chest like a second heartbeat. I lean back against the bar and watch Siren, wondering if her friends will show up tonight. It doesn’t really matter. I’m just curious.

Especially about Dylan.

The few times he’s come in and we’ve actually talked, something feels off. I know he’s gay. Or at least I think I do. But he keeps this careful distance that doesn’t make any sense. He’s new to the biker scene, that much is clear.

He doesn’t seem like the type who’s even heard of half the shit I’m into. And on top of that, he isn’t anything like the guys I usually go for. Those guys are big and solid, built like they can handle me. Dylan? Not even close.

Still, the last time we spoke, he opened up just a little about his family, then quickly shut down like he regretted saying anything at all.

I let out a long breath and push off the bar, crossing over to where Siren sits.

“Hey,” she says, flashing me that bright smile of hers.

“Dylan coming by tonight?” I ask, dropping into the seat beside her.

“I don’t know. I haven’t heard from him.”

Of course she hasn’t. I drum my fingers on the table for a second, thinking. “You know him pretty well, right?”

“I like to think so,” she says with a little laugh.

“Then tell me this. The last guy he was with… how did that even start?”

Siren bursts out laughing. I just stare at her.

“Why the hell is that funny?”

“Because I’m pretty sure Dylan has never fucked a guy,” she says, still grinning. “Or been fucked by one.”

I blink. “Wait… so he’s a virgin?”

She shrugs. “Nope. He’s had plenty of girlfriends.”

I freeze. “What the fuck? Girlfriends? I thought he was gay. You were right there when we said it. You didn’t correct us.”

“I think he is gay,” she says carefully. “I’m almost positive he is. But I’ve only ever seen him with women. And right now? He’s dating one.”

I drag a hand down my face. “Well, fuck, Siren. Thanks for the heads-up.”

“You looked like you were having fun with him,” she says, shrugging. “Why would I ruin that by telling you he’s probably gay but clearly has some issues and keeps sleeping with women to hide it?”

I let out a heavy sigh and slump back in my chair. “I should’ve just worked tonight.”

“You giving up already?” Echo smirks as he pulls Siren into his arms. “That doesn’t sound like you.”

“He’s fucking women,” I mutter. “That shit gets complicated fast. Why would I even bother?”

Echo’s grin turns wicked. “Sometimes you have to go to extremes, brother. Sometimes the only way to get what you want is to watch from the shadows… and then just take it.”

He winks at Siren, who laughs and shakes her head.

“Yeah, no,” I say flatly. “I’m not trying to catch any felony charges, thanks. You might be into the whole stalking-and-kidnapping thing, but I’m good.”

Still… Dylan with women? I can’t picture it. My brain flat-out refuses. There’s no way in hell that guy is even a little bit straight.

“His family, what do you know about them?” I ask, leaning against the table.

Siren shrugs. “Not much. He keeps his personal life locked down tight. I know he’s got a shit-ton of money, but when it comes to family, he stays quiet about it.”

So what? He’s ashamed of them? Why would someone with money hide his family unless there’s something fucked up there? “Is his father in parliament or some shit?”

“No idea, Blaze. I know he has two sisters and a brother. I know they do some big family thing every weekend, and I know he disappears for days sometimes without saying a word.”

I raise an eyebrow. “So you actually know nothing about him?”

“I know him,” Siren says, smiling a little. “I know what he likes, what music he listens to, how he thinks. I know him as a person. But his family and that whole world? No.”

He’s not hiding himself from her… just his family. That confuses me even more.

“I was so sure he was fucking gay.”

“He is,” Siren laughs. “We all know it. Even if he dates women, we know it. I’m pretty sure the women he dates know it too.”

I shake my head. “I need more than ‘we all know it.’ If I’m going to make a move on the guy, I need solid fucking evidence. Especially since you’re telling me he’s currently fucking a woman.”

That part still doesn’t sit right with me. “I’m not about to shoot my shot just to get rejected and laughed at. Then in fifty years he’s still with her, married, happy, and I’m the idiot who tried.”

Echo chuckles beside me. “Damn, brother. You really went straight to fifty years? Couldn’t stop at the rejection part?”

I open my mouth to reply when Dylan walks in with Lila. He heads straight for the bar while Lila comes over to us. She hugs Siren, then glares at Echo.

“Still hate you.”

“Still love her and fuck her every day, so I don’t care,” Echo grins.

Siren groans. “Please stop, both of you.”

I ignore their bickering and look at Lila. “What do you know about Dylan?”

She narrows her eyes. “That if you hurt him, I’ll skin you alive. So consider yourself warned.”

Well, damn. Okay. I’m definitely not in the mood for that level of crazy tonight.

“So, you actually gonna fuck that tonight?” a voice drawls behind me.

I turn to see Titan standing there with his usual cocky grin.

“No, I’m not,” I mutter, glancing back at Dylan.

Titan leans in, still smirking. “Well, if you’re not going to, mind if I shoot my shot?”

I stare at him. “You’re not even fucking gay!”

He smirks wider and leans closer, voice dropping. “No, but I have a feeling he moans real pretty. I like that.”

I groan and drop my head forward.

“Leave Dylan alone,” Lila snaps, glaring at Titan.

Titan steps toward her with that dramatic flair he’s famous for. “Lila, right? How about after I’m done playing with him, I come find you?”

The whole bar bursts out laughing. Lila steps forward, cool as ice. “How about I take your balls and use them as hood ornaments for my car?”

She drives her knee straight between his legs. Titan drops instantly, but he’s still laughing like a maniac on the floor.

“That’s foreplay for me, little kitty,” he wheezes. “Next time swing harder.”

“Alright, move. I’m done with this fucking drama,” I growl, shoving Titan out of the way as he laughs even harder.

“Hey brother,” he calls after me, still on the ground, “if you pass on him, let me know. I’ll give him the ride of his life.”

I flip him off without looking back. He’s probably not serious… but with Titan, who the fuck knows?
