Blaze POV
I wake up in pain, every breath feeling like knives in my chest, and for a long moment all I want is to crawl back into the darkness that had kept me hostage for who knows how long.
“He’s awake,” a voice says, and I open my eyes slightly to see Echo standing there. For a moment I’m confused, the room swimming around me, then everything floods back in a sickening rush. Fuck. Dylan left me to fucking die. Just to keep the fact he’s gay a secret from his father.
“You look like shit,” Echo chuckles, but there’s relief in his voice.
“I feel like it,” I whisper, my throat raw and painful.
“So, broken ribs, hand, fingers, and a punctured lung. Broken nose as well. But you’re alive.”
I shouldn’t be. “How did you find me?” I ask, trying to sit up but wincing at the sharp pain in my side.
“Dylan.”
My eyes widen. “He told you?”
“No. We pulled him in, showed him a picture of a guy. He claimed to have no idea who it was so we followed him back to his father’s, then stopped them from leaving.”
I laugh bitterly, the sound turning into a cough that hurts like hell. “The fucking asshole was going to let me die to keep his secret.”
“No brother, Dylan didn’t know,” Knox says from the side of the bed.
“Bullshit. They were messaging him.”
Glitch sighs and steps closer. “I got all the phones there. His dad knew. Dylan had no idea until about an hour before we got you. His dad didn’t let him know.”
“How long have I been out?” I sit up slowly and look around. I’m in a hospital room, machines beeping softly beside me.
“Two days.” Ghost smirks at me from the chair in the corner.
“I need to talk to him.” I thought it was him, but if it wasn’t, then I can’t hate him for this.
“Blaze, from what was said, Dylan agreed to stay the hell away in return for his dad saving you. He wasn’t even allowed to wait to make sure you survived.”
My head shakes. “So.”
“So, it’s in the news. Allana is getting married in two days.”
My eyes widen. “He’s fucking marrying her already? Of course he is. Even now his father knows, he’s still going to play fucking straight to take over.”
“If he takes over,” Titan grumbles from the doorway.
“What?” I ask. “What does that mean?”
“It means your pretty boy has been under house arrest, but the word on the street is his brother is taking over after the wedding. He’s already married.”
My head shakes. “Dylan wouldn’t agree to the wedding if he wasn’t taking over.”
“Which is why he’s under house arrest. So he has no idea until it’s too late. Marrying a random, fine, he can get out of, but the senator’s daughter? He’s locked in for life.”
“Then I have to fucking stop that wedding.”
They all laugh.
“Crashing a wedding, Blaze? You going to wait for the whole ‘does anyone object?’” Echo smirks.
It might sound crazy, but I can’t let him marry her when he’s doing it for something he’s not going to get. Not after everything. Not after I almost died thinking he chose his secret over me.
I lean back against the pillows, pain shooting through my ribs, but my mind is already racing with what I’m going to do.
I’m not letting him go that easily.
It’s the day of the wedding. Glitch has been working non-stop to get all the information possible.
I checked out of the hospital within an hour, despite the doctors saying I should stay for at least a few more days.
I couldn’t sit there any longer. Not when Dylan is about to walk into a life he doesn’t even fully understand.
Part of me wanted to go straight to him, but I knew it was foolish. I’m going to make a fucking statement at this fake as shit wedding.
All I know is I need to tell him that his father is giving the role to his brother. Glitch has shown me enough proof, and the fact no one has told Dylan is fucking sickening.
“There’s going to be guards,” Echo says as we gather outside the clubhouse. “We’re going to have to shoot some and it might cause a fucking war, and there’s going to be cameras.”
“Which is why I called in reinforcements.” Knox looks at us. “Two of the clubs we work closely with are going to meet us at the location. We’ll have the numbers.”
“I don’t want a fucking war.”
“Too shit brother, it’s going to be a war. They won’t let you walk in, so we have to take out the guards,” Echo says.
Of course they won’t just let me walk in. Sighing, I nod. “Fine. Everyone ready?”
“Sure. Which bike you jumping on the back of?” Ghost looks at me.
“I’m going to try ride.”
He laughs. “Of course you are. If it gets too much stop.”
I nod and walk over to my bike. It will fucking hurt, but I’m riding my bike. Swinging my leg over it, I grab the throttle, and fuck it hurts.
“You good?” Titan looks at me and I nod.
“Totally.” We leave and half an hour later we pull up close to the building. There’s cars lined along the street. Drivers standing by the doors waiting.
“Some posh shit,” Echo chuckles.
“Bet Ghost feels right at home,” Knox jokes and I laugh.
I see more bikes come from other clubs. For ten minutes we discuss the plan. Knox is hoping the amount of people means the guards just let us in, but it’s unlikely.
So, Titan and Knox will take them out quietly, if possible. We move through the trees to the main doors. The guards glance up and one reaches for the phone.
Before he can react, Titan is on him, and has it in his hand.
“Two choices, you let us walk in or we shoot you,” Knox says.
“Third option,” Ghost laughs, and places a gun to one of the guys head. “You’re a hostage, move.”
“Fuck sake Ghost that wasn’t the plan,” Knox snaps and shoves the other guy forward.
Of course Ghost changed the plan. We move into the building, the staff stare at us as we walk through but they don’t react. They are here to clean, serve drinks and shit.
“Where’s the wedding?” Ghost shouts.
“Second door on the left,” Glitch calls back.
I shove forward and push in front. Ghost doesn’t stop me. As we get to the door I see another guard. Raising the gun I aim for his head and snatch his weapon.
“Open the fucking door.” He glances at the guys behind me and moves. The door opens and voices spill out, but stop as I shove him forward and keep the gun pressed to his head.
I turn and see Dylan. He stares at me. “B-b-b-blaze?” His eyes widen, and fuck I missed his stutter.
“Hey baby, I came to rescue you.”
He stares and I can’t help but laugh.
“That’s enough, you need to leave now!” Declan pushes between us, and I step to the side and drag Dylan behind me.
“He’s not marrying her.”
“You think your fucking club has any say in my business? Get on your bikes and disappear before I decide none of you live.”
I glance around and smirk. “Nice gathering. I’d like to see it a bit bloody.”
He snarls and steps forward.
“J-j-j-j-ust leave,” Dylan stutters.
“No. You can’t fucking marry her.”
“I have to in order to take over.”
Laughing I nod. “But you’re not. Are you? You have no fucking idea but he wasn’t going to let you take over. Months ago he had already decided you couldn’t do it.”
“He’s lying,” Declan argues. “Now leave.”
If it was just my club, I have no doubt he would have killed us, but with the other clubs, there’s too many people.
“I’m not lying. We found emails from months ago where you state Dylan doesn’t have it in him and your younger son is taking over, and word on the street is once he marries then you announce it.”
“Dad?” Dylan looks at him, his voice small and broken.
“It’s a fucking lie.”
“Glitch,” I shout and he throws the phone. I load up the document and give it to Dylan who reads and then glares at his father.
“You fucking lied?”
Declan glares at me. “You don’t have it in you. Yes you know the world, you can do the deals, but standing up against something like this, you’re weak.”
“Then why push me to get fucking married?” Dylan snaps, his voice rising with anger and hurt.
“Because he knew you were gay,” Echo says. “Figured getting you to marry someone would help, right?” He looks at Declan.
“Just marry Allana, and I’ll find something in the family business for you to do,” Declan says coldly.
“Like what? What is worth giving up my fucking life for?” Dylan stares at him, his hands shaking. “I could understand you suddenly changing your mind, b-b-b-but before everything you had already decided?”
“Oh come on, I knew it was only a matter of time before you were in bed with a guy. Our world doesn’t want people like that in charge. If you get fucked by your biker friend, then you get fucked by everyone.”
Dylan just stares at him, the betrayal clear on his face.
“Marry Allana, and you can stay part of this family.”
“Stay part of the family?” Dylan scoffs, his voice cracking. “I’m done. I’m not marrying her, or any woman.” He shoves past me and I reach for him but he slaps my hand away. “Get the fuck out of my life Blaze!” He storms forward.
He needs space and time, I get that.
“If you don’t marry her and you leave don’t expect to come back. You get nothing, no money, no help, you’re no longer my son,” Declan calls out.
Dylan tenses and turns to look at him. “I was never your fucking son. I was just something to use.”
“I mean it boy, you won’t get anything from me.”
“I don’t want it!” Dylan screams. I watch him take off the watch and throw it, the rings, everything. “I don’t want fuck all from you, from any of you.”
He storms out and I go to follow but Declan steps in my path. “You will regret this.”
“I’m sure we will. Go back to your celebration. I’m sure your other son is eager to take the title and get revenge for you.” I push past and the guys follow.
Getting outside Dylan is nowhere to be seen. Of course he’s not.
