Chapter 21 Xy
Chapter Twenty-One
Xy
“Nigga, do you realize that you didn’t even get engaged?” Jah asked as we sat poolside in our villa in Mykonos.
Laughing, I shrugged and blew a cloud of smoke out of my lips. “Me and Drek been engaged since we were thirteen. The fuck I need to do an official engagement for?”
“That’s not how engagements work,” Makenna shook her head, swinging her feet in the infinity pool.
“That’s not how it worked for you,” I corrected her, inhaling the exotic weed and blowing it out. “That’s normal relationship shit. Nothing about our relationship is normal.”
She scoffed, her head still moving side to side. “You can say that again. I’ll still beat you the fuck up, Xy, I just wanna make it known.”
“Whatever, Ken,” I laughed when her head whipped in my direction so fast, I thought she broke it.
“It’s still Makenna to you.”
“Unh unh,” I pointed towards Drek as she stepped out of the sliding doors. “We family now, so it’s just Ken.”
Makenna sucked her teeth, and I’m sure she probably rolled her lil eyes behind her dark shades as well. I wasn’t thinking about her ass thought. I stood up when I noticed the unreadable expression on my wife’s face. Passing the blunt to Jah, I immediately made my way over to her.
“What’s wrong, Angel?” I raised her sunglasses and saw how red her eyes were. “Why you been crying?”
“I’ve been vomiting,” she croaked out. “This fuckin’ baby won’t let me eat shit.”
I frowned and dropped to my knees, kissing her belly first. “Little angel, why you in there torturing your mommy? Hm?” I chastised our daughter, giving Drek’s flat stomach another peck. “Be nice to her. You have to live in there for another seven months.”
Drek glared at me with annoyance written all over her face. “It can’t even hear you.”
“She, and yes she can. She’s my baby, which means she has hearing like her daddy. You know I can hear a muthafucka sneeze on Mars,” I wrapped arms around her legs, groping her ass while repeatedly kissing her belly. “Are you feeling lightheaded or dizzy?”
“No. I’m just feeling like I want to lay down and take a nap.”
“Then let’s go do that,” I stood back up.
“No, it’s okay. You can stay out here with Jah and Ken and keep bonding,” she smirked, knowing damn well she couldn’t call what Ken and I were doing bonding.
I waved my hand in their direction. “Fuck them. You my wife, and if my wife wants to take a nap, then that’s what we gon’ do,” I took her hand into mine. “C’mon.”
We had been officially married for five days, and I used the word wife as much as I possibly could.
It sounded so damn smooth coming out of my mouth, and every time I said it, my heart fluttered in a different rhythm than normal.
Being Drek’s husband was an honor that I’d never disrespect.
The blogs had been going crazy about our ‘secret’ wedding, and we both had purposely been not posting on social media since our wedding day.
The last thing I wanted was our honeymoon being ruined by a bunch of bitches snapping photos for money.
I didn’t even allow our wedding photographer to come with us.
Any pictures we had in Mykonos were ours and ours alone, and I really loved that we could at least have this moment together.
Well, outside of Jah and Ken, but I wanted them there so that Ken and I could at least attempt to become cordial.
So far, so good. We had being cordial down pact, but there was still that unspoken something between us that I hadn’t cracked just yet.
“Get comfortable, Angel,” I instructed her when we were back in our suite.
She chuckled as she climbed into the bed. “Bae, you really don’t have to stay in here with me.”
“Bulllllshit,” I removed my swim trunks, leaving me fully nude.
“I gotta make sure you and my baby are good at all times,” I cuddled up behind her, my dick instantly starting to come to life.
“I don’t care if we sleep for the rest of our honeymoon.
If that’s what you wanna do, then that’s what we gon’ do, baby. ”
Drek giggled and shook her head. “No. We’re not gonna waste our time here in Greece.”
“It’s never a waste when I’m spending time with you,” I kissed the back of her neck a few times.
“Xy?” she softly called my name.
“Yeah, Angel?”
“You just made me wet as fuck,” her face turned slightly in my direction. “Come play in your waterpark.”
Without hesitation, I angled her body just right and complied with her request. It actually blew my mind that I was married to the woman of my dreams. It was no longer a fantasy or a question mark.
Even though I didn’t doubt that we would end up right here, I still had my doubts, if that made sense.
As cocky and confident as I was that Drek would never leave me, let’s be real, it was always a possibility.
I did a lot of fuck shit, so for her to agree to be with me for the rest of our lives, it made me fall deeper in love with her.
“Thank you for choosing me, Angel,” I expressed my gratitude as I fucked deep into her walls. “Thank you. Thank you, baby.”
“You’re welcome, Xyleek,” she whispered, her voice vibrating with pleasure and affection. “I was always gon’ choose you.”
The way she said that had me getting emotional as hell. I was a gahdamn softy when it came to Drek these days. She could’ve told me she liked my edge up, and it probably would’ve had me deep in my feelings. Shit was wicked, but I loved every second of it.
After we both trembled our way through an explosive orgasm, I put my face in between her legs and ate until she cried and went to sleep.
Rolling out of bed, I just stared at how beautiful she was.
Knowing she was carrying our baby made her even more gorgeous to me.
I placed a few soft kisses on her lips, promising her that I was always gon’ choose our family before going into the bathroom to wipe my face, dick, and balls.
Pulling my trunks back on once I was in the room, I rolled another blunt and then stepped outside. Jah wasn’t there, but Makenna was laid out on the pool chair with a hat covering her face. When she didn’t budge as I took a seat, I figured she was sleep, so I kicked back and enjoyed the weed.
“I don’t hate you,” Ken stated flatly, scaring the shit out of me.
My head turned to look at her, but she was in the same position with the hat covering her face. “I thought you were sleep.”
“How the fuck could I be with you stomping over here like Big Foot?” She lifted the hat, revealing a sly grin on her face.
“Aye, fuck you, Makenna,” I laughed, stood up, and moved to the seat next to her. “Here,” I extended the blunt in her direction.
She sat up, placing the hat on her lap and pushing her Dior frames to the bridge of her nose. “You lace yo shit?” She eyed me suspiciously.
Sucking my teeth, I almost kicked her goofy ass out of the chair. “The level of disrespect you dish out is fuckin’ nuts.”
“You did it first,” she snatched the blunt from me.
I raised a curious eyebrow. “When the fuck have I ever disrespected you?”
“The first, second, third, tenth, thirtieth, hundredth time that you cheated on my sister,” she retorted, taking a slow drag of the blunt.
“It was never you I hated. It was the stupid shit you did to her and how you treated her. Like she was disposable or something. That limelight tore yo ass up, and you stopped giving a fuck about her feelings, Xyleek. That’s why I never fucked with you once all that cheating shit started.
Drek is so fuckin’ pure hearted, so for you to shit on her feelings the way you did time and time again, I lost all respect for you. ”
Dropping my head for a moment, I ran my hands across my waves and nodded.
“I can respect that, Ken. And you’re not wrong.
I did let some of that shit get to me, and I damn sure took her for granted.
In my fucked up mind, I did know that she was always gon’ be there and because I knew that, I stopped trying as hard.
I cheated, we got back together. I cheated again, we got back together again.
It was a cycle we repeated, and it wasn’t right, but I got used to it.
I knew that I could go lay up with these bitches, and when I got back home, Drek was gon’ be mad, but she wasn’t gon’ leave, feel me?
Even when she got married, I wasn’t worried about that lame ass nigga.
Drek was always mine, but I ain’t gon’ lie, within the last six months, I started to get scared.
I was scared that one day she was gon’ wake up and choose her.
I know that sounds bad…I guess it is, but that’s the truth.
It’s why I switched her birth control. I panicked like a muthafucka, Makenna, I can’t even front.
It was wrong, and if I could go back in time, I wouldn’t take that choice from her. ”
She passed the blunt back to me, and we sat in pure silence for a while, just passing it back and forth.
The silence didn’t feel heavy or tense like any other time we were around each other.
It was oddly peaceful. Once the blunt was finished, I reclined back on the pool chair with one arm folded behind my head, just gazing up at the sky.
“I appreciate you owning up to your shit, Xyleek, truly. Truthfully, I’ve been mad as hell at you all this time.
Men cheat…not my fuckin’ man, but niggas do it and women take them back all the time.
I was so gahdamn mad that you made her question if she was good enough for you.
I’ll be the first to tell you, I was the biggest cheerleader for y’all not to get back together this go ‘round. I’ve seen the damage a nigga like you can do,” she turned slightly on her side to face me, causing her hat to slide to the chair.
“And now I’ve also seen this different version of you.
I’m not saying I fully buy it,” she snickered, making me chuckle as well.
“But I think for her to feel like it’s safe to marry you speaks volumes.
Dreka’s not dumb, but she can be dumb for you, and that’s what scares me about the two of you together.
Whatever this change is within you, I really hope it’s permanent. She can’t take anymore.”
Her last sentence hit me hard, but all her words penetrated my mind.
“I know she can’t, that’s why I plan to keep being the best version of me for her, our baby, and myself.
I’m not gon’ love her any less, but I can dial it back a lil’ bit to love her properly, in the way she wants it.
Drek need a nigga who gon’ match her energy, not manipulate it, and I promise Ima be him from now on. ”
“Hmph,” she laid back again, nodding slowly. “If you keep being this version of you, then I’ll stop wondering why your momma ain’t just swallow.”
“Ain’t God good!” I threw my hands up, and she broke out laughing.
For the first time since we were in our early 20’s, Makenna and I just talked and kicked the shit.
It honestly felt better than I thought it would, finally getting us on the same page.
And thankfully, it was before her and Jah left to get back to the states.
They were leaving tomorrow while me and Drek had a few more days of marital bliss.
I was looking forward to it just being the two of us, but for now, I was glad we were all here together, laughing instead of damn near killing each other.
This was the only type of energy I wanted surrounding my wife and our baby.
Ken stretched her arms over her head and yawned. “Welp, I’m ’bout to go lay down. This Greek sun hitting a lil’ too hard, and since Jah ain’t came back out, I assume he’s already asleep.”
“You know that nigga smoke and be ready to go to sleep.”
“Hell yeah,” she laughed, sliding out of the pool chair and placing her hat on her head. “I’ll see y’all at dinner.”
“Aight, later, big head.”
“Later, pain in my ass,” she playfully mushed my head before walking away.
Our honeymoon wasn’t even a full week in yet, and I already felt like this was a new beginning…one that I wasn’t gon’ fuck up. I couldn’t afford to. Both our fears had finally been laid to rest, and I wasn’t in the business of disturbing the dead.
“Yeah,” I spoke out loud, closing my eyes and letting the sun hit my face. “This gon’ be a good life.”
