36. Chapter 36

New World Order

By the time we go down to join everyone else, it feels like Cagu has been with us forever. The others seem to be getting along really well and when we meet them in the backyard, Jorja wraps me in a hug with her two mates.

“Welcome to the family, Becca! I’m so glad to have you connected by more than us just working together.”“Yeah, but now I feel left out.” Kahmil says, shoving Anthony out of his chair. “Why couldn’t you knock me up with a mate for Becca?”

My cheeks flame bright red at the growl he gives her, the heat in his eyes apparent even from across the yard.

He gets up and whispers something in her ear and I gain a new respect for the vampire Omega.

She doesn’t blush or get embarrassed, she smirks at her mate then turns her head to talk to the only two people I haven’t met yet.

I walk up to Kahmil, smiling at the petite woman.

I didn’t notice it before, but she is even smaller than I am.

She is very pretty though. Long brown hair and beautiful pink eyes that make me a bit jealous.

Her skin looks a bit grey, but a pretty grey, like a feather or the clouds before a soft summer storm.

“Hi! I’m Becca, Wolf Shifter and apparently the representative for the Shifters.” My stomach is rolling with nerves, but if I’m going to be representing an entire Supernatural race then I need to get used to introducing myself to random people and initiating conversation.

“Hi Becca! I’m Shelby, Merfolk representative, and Siren.” Her voice is as melodic as Cagu’s, but I’m not drawn into it like I am with him.

“Wow! I didn’t even know that there were Merfolk to be represented. I’m so glad to meet you.” I pull her into a hug and I can feel the click in my chest like I did with the others.

Once again, I feel like I've been completed. My soul settles and I feel a sense of bliss knowing that I have everything I need. Between my mates, the other Omega Representatives and their mates, the parent packs, and Abby … I finally feel like my family is whole, like my soul is whole and I’m doing exactly what I’m supposed to be doing.

Charlotte and Jorja walk over and join the three of us, smiles on their faces as we look out at the back yard. All of our families are blending seamlessly and it makes my heart feel full. Now, we just have to figure out how to get the rest of the world to mirror this and everything will be perfect.

“So, Becca, Charlotte tells me that you have a few opinions about what we can do to fix the mess that is our world.” Jorja is the first to bring up business.

The five of us are sitting at the table by the sliding door and we all turn to face the middle of the table so we can see each other.

The rest of them are looking at me with expectant faces and I take a breath to gather my thoughts.

Charlotte told me last night that she can read minds like Cagu, and she said that some of my half put together thoughts were perfect for the direction they want the world to go in.

“Yeah, more like half formed ideas that I have no clue how to implement.” I admit.

“That is what we are here for, Becca. Just start telling us your ideas and we can go from there.” Kahmil grabs my hand, squeezing gently.

“Okay, so first thing is, we need a name for us collectively, I’m thinking council because the Shifters are already used to answering to a council.

” The girls nod their heads, agreeing easily.

“I also think we should get the various communities to set up a local Council that can answer to us while solving small things themselves.” Again, they agree easily.

The next part is what I’m most nervous about presenting to the group. Magic got us into this mess, and I want to suggest we add more magic into the mix. In my mind, the idea is solid, but I’m not sure that they are going to agree with me, or if it is even something we can do.

“So, the next thing is something that I’m not sure is possible …

” I tell them, looking around the group.

They all sit up a bit more, focusing all their attention on me.

Taking a deep breath, I just put it out there.

“I think we need to cast a spell, something big that will encompass the whole community, even into the future. At first, it was just to see what Omegas belong on the council, but with the discovery that we can have mates of a different race, I think I need to be more in depth than that.”

“Okay, well in order for magic to work, you have to have a clear intention, other wise it does what the curse does and fucks up in bad ways.” Charlotte doesn’t laugh at me, or tell me my idea is dumb, which makes me feel better.

The other omegas look like they are considering it as well. I give myself a second to really think about what I want the spell to do, what I want to achieve with the magic. I look at Charlotte and think about her magic, the way she can see the connections between people.

“Okay, so we need a way for the connections between people to be brought to life, something that will let mates and bonds become apparent. It also needs to draw Omegas together for the councils and mark the next Omegas in line for the High Council, our next leaders.” The words are hesitant as they leave my lips, but the more I explain, the more the idea forms in my mind.

“Basically, Alphas that belong to the same Omega, no matter what race they are, will get a mark so they can easily be identified. The Omegas that are destined to rule together should feel it, almost like a mate bond. And the Omegas that are meant to take over for us will share a mark as well, like the Alphas.”

Everyone is quiet as they digest what I’m saying.

They take the time to think about it and I appreciate that they are analyzing the idea and not just dismissing it.

Magic is finicky, history has shown us that.

But between the five of us, we should be able to think of a foolproof way to make it work, and if we can’t then no harm is done and we will come up with another way.

“I know a spell that could work, but it will bind us together and each of us have to do it. It will require the presence of each race. Our mates will have to be involved as well.” Charlotte looks around at us.

I don’t see any issue with that, but I do want to check with my mates and make sure they are okay with doing it.

The other Omegas say as much and Charlotte leaves to gather the stuff she will need to do the spell.

She tells us that if we agree to do it, we need to meet her in the meadow we were at earlier.

She says that spell has to be done on a new moon, which is tonight.

The rest of us gather our mates to have the conversation with them, while the parents and Abby look on.

I can see the curiosity on all their faces, but none of them ask for specifics.

The meadow is just as pretty tonight as it was this morning.

Even without the glow of the moon, the lavender dances on the breeze.

I feel like my wolf is much closer to the surface here than ever before.

Cagu explained that the Fae lines that connect Fae with earth originated here.

He says that the Fae believe this is the meadow where the Moon Goddess created all Supernaturals.

“I feel bad that we haven’t had time to complete our bond yet.” I hold Cagu’s hand as we make our way to the middle of the clearing where everyone else is waiting.

“I’m not.” He smiles down at me, raising our joined hands so he can kiss my knuckles.

“The Moon Goddess does everything for a reason. That means that things happen when she intends for them to happen. Clearly, our bond wasn’t meant to be completed until after this spell, so that is when it will happen.

Not having the mark doesn’t make me less than your other mates, it just means that we still have more to discover on our journey. ”

Gods, this Fae is perfect. I’ve noticed he is quiet like CJ, and just like my wolf, when he does speak, his words hold that much more meaning.

I can’t respond to him right now though because we finally made it to the clearing.

A sense of deja vu consumes me and I see flashes of my vision from yesterday.

This is the moment that I saw. Completing this spell is what I saw yesterday.

Realizing that eases my nerves. This is meant to happen and the Moon Goddess told me about it, the idea came from her which means that everything will work out how it is supposed to. Just like Cagu said.

Charlotte steps into the center of the meadow as my mates and I walk up.

Just like in my vision, she welcomes us and asks the representatives to gather close while our mates surround us.

I can already feel the magic pulsing as I clasp Kahmil’s hand.

Charlotte is the last to complete the circle, holding my hand and Jorja’s.

Magic bursts form us, covering our mates and expanding until golden magic lays over the entire meadow.

I can hear a melody in my head and I close my eyes.

I see the most stunning woman I’ve ever seen.

She is so beautiful, tears come to my eyes and I fall to my knees in awe of her.

I notice the other Omegas there with me, all of us on our knees in reverence to the goddess before us. That thought makes what is happening so much more clear. This is the Moon Goddess. Our creator. She smiles softly at all of us, waving her hand and asking us all to stand.

“Welcome my daughters. I’m so glad that we are finally here. I’ve waited so long for Becca to be born so that my mistakes could be corrected.”

“It wasn’t your mistake.” Fuck! The words left my lips before I could think better of interrupting the Goddess. I expect to be punished or something, but she just smiles at me.

“Every move that Supernaturals make is something I allow, or at least it is the result of me not interfering soon enough. What Chancey did was my fault, because I didn’t see the darkness in her until it was too late.

I don’t intend to ever let something like that happen again.

I will accept your magic, your sacrifice and do what needs to be done.

You will lead my children and when the time comes, you will teach the next generation. ”

Again, she waves her hand, and this time, everything goes black.

It’s like I blinked, then I was back in the meadow.

All of our mates are on their knees, clutching some part of their bodies.

The other Omegas are on their backs, in varying states of coming too.

I feel heavy, my mind filled with knowledge that I didn’t have before.

I can feel all of my mates now, even though Cagu and I never completed the bond.

The magic in the meadow has completely depleted and I feel a bit weak, like I could sleep for a week straight.

It doesn’t take long for my mates to come around, then they swarm over to me.

Erik holds me in his arms as the other four touch random parts of my body, checking to see if I’m hurt.

I tell them over and over again that I am fine, but they don’t believe it until they’ve looked over every inch of me.

The other Omegas are in similar positions with their mates, but eventually, everyone calms back down and the Omegas meet in the center of the meadow again.

“So, that was in-fucking-sane.” Shelby was the first one to speak, rubbing her chest while looking at the rest of us.

Yeah, and I’m not sure how to tell if it worked.

I thought to myself, but Charlotte answered as if I had spoken out loud.

“I know if the goddess says something will happen then it will. I can almost guarantee that our mate will have marks now that tell them they belong to the same Omega.”

“And apparently we can mind-speak like mated wolves.” I point out, making the rest of them realize that I never spoke out loud last time.

“Yeah, I guess there is that. Strange.” Kahmil spaces out for a second, then shakes her head.

“Well, there is nothing more we can do tonight. I say we all go get some sleep and tomorrow we can figure out how to get the Fae and Merfolk back and start integrating the reservations. We also need to start thinking about what to do about the humans.”

“As a recent human, I have some ideas on that. I’ll get them all written out and we can talk about them before we do anything.”

We all share a group hug and go our separate way with our mates.

Kahmil lives close, so she and Anthony are going home, same with Charlotte and her mates.

Jorja and Shelby are staying with us, so we will see them back home.

I walk to my mates and take the time to hug them all.

I’m so glad to have them, so glad that my life changed so much.

I was always so different from the other humans around me and now I know why.

I was destined for something bigger. My path was set before I was ever even born, I’m just glad that I let it play out and didn’t fight it.

I can actually make a difference and change lives now, and I have no doubt that I will.

With my mates by my side and the rest of my family behind us, there isn’t anything I can’t do.
