37. Chapter 37 #3

With the movements of his tongue and fingers combined, I was on the precipice of flying, and would soon meet my fate once I leapt from the edge. I was free, soaring with the stars, meeting each crashing wave of euphoria head-on, screaming his name as he continued to thrust from beneath.

No sooner had I come down from the battering waves than Peiro’s hands moved to the side of my jaw to pull me into a deep kiss. “Up.” His voice was gruff. I pulled back in a euphoric daze, utterly confused. “Let me worship you the way you deserve.”

Before I could protest, Peiro shifted and rose to his feet, helping me to mine.

With no regard to the puddles we created in our wake, Peiro led me into the bedroom and set me upon the soft sheets of the bed.

The room was dark aside from the faint moonlight that now seeped through the curtains of the large windows, covering us in faint light and shadows.

He was a marvel. A vision. My eyes traced the inked lines across his body, gazing softly at the bands etched on his arm before trailing up to the inked armor on the left side of his chest. As he climbed onto the foot of the bed, I lazily gazed at the swirls and designs inked across his strong thighs.

“Do you like what you see, Naa’n le’ya?”

My heart felt elated hearing the term of endearment that had felt like home for longer than I could recall.

“Do you forgive me?” The words escaped me quicker than I could stop them from spilling, like I had little control over the internal battles in my heart. I mentally scolded myself for ruining a beautiful moment with such words.

Peiro shifted and leaned over until his face was inches from mine.

His eyes held a sternness I had only seen a handful of times.

“Listen to me closely, Ophelia.” He clasped the base of my head to pull me in, his fingers digging into my skin.

Peiro’s eyes searched mine, his lips so close and inviting.

“This will be the last time I will tell you this.” His voice was low and rough as he punctuated every word.

“You have nothing to be sorry for. Your magic is doing exactly what it is meant to do. We cannot help that our hearts are caught in the crossfire.”

I had no time to argue as I watched him shift and slowly crawl backward, planting sweet kisses on my skin along the way without taking his eyes off of mine. His smile grew devious with each press of his lips to my stomach, then my thighs—a seduction, stoking my flame. I needed more.

My legs fell open wider. “I need you,” I whispered.

Giants, my body and soul needed to be utterly consumed by him.

Peiro nestled in between my thighs, my evidence of need so close to that damn smile that threatened to undo me on the spot.

He shifted to trail small, delicate kisses along my hip bone and paused momentarily at my center.

A devilish flick of his tongue had me gasping at the sensation.

But instead of more, he continued placing the most tender of kisses toward my hip before repeating his movements on the other side.

He rubbed his stubble against my flesh, sending a prickle of goosebumps scattering across my skin as he worked his way back up. Another flick of his tongue on my center forced my hips to buck upward, begging for him.

“Is this something you enjoy?”

Frustration built as my breath turned ragged. “Yes. More.”

“So greedy.” I heard the smile in his voice right as another flick of his tongue coaxed me closer to a release.

“As I told you earlier…” A finger, then another, entered and curled inward to find that tender spot that threatened to turn me rabid.

“I am a starved man, ready to feast.” Peiro pumped his fingers as his tongue on me danced like a fiend.

I felt my body edge closer to the precipice the more his fingers thrummed and his tongue flicked and my core tightened.

“Come for me, moonlight,” he commanded, and I exploded into an oblivion of bliss.

My back arched away from the covers as I was once again in the cosmos, twirling amongst the stars.

I became the particles in space. The dark matter that left zealots and acolytes alike to wonder what filled the night sky.

I faintly heard myself panting his name over and over.

My hips ground closer to him to ride each crashing wave.

His fingers slowed as I soared from the heavens.

I opened my eyes, seeing the ceiling above me. My body shook with ecstasy, sending a ripple of chills through my body. A small shift on the bed caught my attention as I watched Peiro place more kisses along my waist and slowly trail upward, leaving more chills in their wake.

His soft tongue grazed my breast before he took one of my nipples inside of his mouth and softly bit, a promise of pleasure, before he repeated his actions to the other.

Every lick and touch were a straight line to my center where I found myself aching with heat once again.

I arched against his touch as I ran my hands through the soft strands of his hair, gently massaging his scalp.

A low moan came from his chest as I rocked my hips under his, feeling his arousal so close to my own.

Peiro lifted his gaze to mine. I swallowed as I took in the most beautiful brown eyes I had ever seen.

The shadows that danced with the light made them glow in such a way that I could be lost in them for a lifetime.

“You’re beautiful,” he whispered, his fingers brushing back the damp stray hairs along my face and jaw. The statement meant more than a visionary declaration, and I allowed myself to finally embrace it all. “So no more, Ophelia.”

“No…more?” I panted through each breath. My brows pinched in confusion.
