28. Epilogue

Amelia

T he night was filled with a buzz of excitement as Aidan and Finn prepared for the grand event. Aidan had organized a party, bringing together both werewolves and vampires to celebrate the unity we had fought so hard to achieve. The room was elegantly decorated, draped in white and silver, with flickering candles casting a warm glow. The scent of flowers mixed with the crisp air, and I could feel the anticipation in the air.

I stood beside Aidan and Finn, my heart pounding with nerves I couldn’t quite shake off. It wasn’t just the party—it was the weight of what was about to happen. I could feel the eyes of both vampires and werewolves on us, their expectations hanging in the air like a thick fog.

Aidan stepped forward, his voice smooth but commanding.

"Tonight, we celebrate not just the unity between our people, but the future we’re all building together. But there’s something I need to announce, something that will shape the course of everything moving forward."

The room quieted, all eyes on him. I felt Finn’s hand brush mine, a reassuring gesture, but it did little to calm my racing heart. I wasn’t sure I was ready for what was coming.

Aidan continued, his gaze shifting between the gathered guests, his voice firm and passionate. "We’ve fought for peace, and now we have it. But there’s more to it. Tonight, Finn and I want to announce that Amelia is our mate. She’s the one who has bound us together, not just as lovers, but as equals."

Gasps filled the room. Whispers traveled like lightning, and I could see the confusion and disbelief in their eyes. A few vampires muttered under their breath, some of the werewolves growling softly in protest.

"No, no, no—this can’t be right!" someone called out, their voice trembling. "A human being their mate? And being the mate of a vampire and a werewolf? She can’t be."

"I just knew they wouldn’t accept me," I muttered under my breath, feeling the weight of the room’s attention pressing down on me.

But Aidan raised a hand, his voice cutting through the rising murmurs.

"I understand your concerns," he said, his tone gentle but commanding. "But listen. Times are changing. We’ve all had to adapt, to evolve. Finn and I... We both love Amelia. Deeply. She’s not just some human caught in the middle. She has the blood of both a werewolf and a vampire in her veins."

The words hit me like a shockwave. I had always known I was different, but hearing Aidan say it aloud, with such conviction, made everything suddenly make sense and yet, feel so much more complicated.

Finn stepped forward; his eyes locked with mine.

"She’s not just the woman we love," he said, his voice thick with emotion. "Amelia’s the key to the balance between vampires and werewolves. Both of us have felt it from the moment she entered our lives. We are madly in love with her, and together, we can create a future that none of us could have imagined."

The vampires and werewolves who never saw eye to eye began to exchange glances of acceptance.

Aidan continued, his voice softer now.

"Amelia is the chosen one and is the bridge between our worlds."

And then something unexpected happened.

A cheer erupted from the crowd. It was hesitant at first, but soon it grew into a resounding roar, the vampires and werewolves alike celebrating the decision. The room seemed to pulse with the unity that we had all been working toward for so long.

A weight lifted from my shoulders, though I still couldn’t quite believe it. I turned to Finn and Aidan, both smiling at me, their eyes full of pride and love. They were madly in love with me, as I was with them.

"I never imagined anything like this," I said quietly, still overwhelmed. "I can’t believe they accepted me."

Aidan pulled me into a gentle hug, pressing a kiss to the top of my head.

"We’ll do this together, Amelia. You and us. Forever."

The party went on, but I stayed close to Finn and Aidan, basking in the warmth of their love and the new world we were building. As the night wore on and the laughter and music filled the air, I couldn’t help but feel like the luckiest woman in the world. I had two amazing men who loved me beyond words, and together, we had the power to change everything.

The future is ours.
