28. Cherry #2

Gage shakes his head. “No, this may be worse. If he truly believes she wants to be with him, he won’t understand anything else. He may have even painted a picture of their life together. If she refuses him, he may lash out violently.”

“Great,” I say, leaning back against Maddox as I consider the options. “It was hard enough when he was just planning to return me to the facility. But what you’re describing sounds worse.”

“We need a safe room,” Bain says. I turn to him and see his hands fisted tightly against his thighs. “Or three.” I reach inside to feel his emotions and find him angry, but worse, he’s also scared. For me.

With uncoordinated movements, I step out of Maddox’s lap and scramble past Hunter to climb into Bain’s lap. His arms immediately come up to wrap around me as his nose sinks into my hair. He takes a deep breath, and I feel his tension start to fade.

The others watch us with interest, except for Gage, who’s staring at the table, his mind moving ten miles an hour. “Okay,” he finally says, nodding to himself. “We can convert Cherry’s closet to a safe room.”

“How long will that take?” Hunter asks.

“I don’t know the people here, but generally if you throw enough money at someone, they’ll drop anything to get the job done.” He pushes to his feet as he tells us, “I’m going to make some calls.”

He starts to step away, but I reach out and grab his wrist, stopping him. He looks at me in question as I tell him, “He threatened you guys. I don’t think any of you should be alone.”

His eyes soften, and when he opens his mouth, I’m sure he’s going to argue, but Hunter stands, speaking before he can. “I’ll go with him.”

“Thank you,” I say, smiling at him.

Gage leans down as he tips my chin up and kisses me. Hunter does the same, leaving me a little breathless as the two of them head down the hall to the office.

I squirm in Bain’s lap, getting comfortable as I glance at the other two. “Now what?”

“I think we should talk about how you two suddenly gained super speed,” Chase says, pointing to Maddox and Bain.

Maddox frowns as he asks, “Were we really that fast?”

Chase nods. “Very. None of us could keep up with you. Plus, how about how you smelled Blaze like three miles away? What was that about?”

“I didn’t realize it was any different from normal,” Bain admits.

“Me either,” I add.

“That’s because you’re much faster now too,” Chase tells me before grinning. “When you were chasing me, I was seriously having to run fast to keep ahead of you.”

“A little too fast,” I think and he grins. “I said that through the bond, didn’t I?” I ask as my cheeks heat and he nods.

“Eager to catch me, were you?” I roll my eyes at him since he already knows I’m more than ready to seal our bond. Technically, Gage had won our game, but thanks to Blaze’s visit, I have a feeling I’m not sealing any new bonds today.

As I glance around, I notice my phone on the table. Maybe I should send a text message to Erica. She might have some insider omega knowledge that I can use as proof that it’s better to complete my bonds sooner rather than later.

For some reason, I feel desperate to solidify all five. As if I’m incomplete without them.

“Can you show me how to use my phone?” I ask, pointing at it.

“Of course,” Chase says as Bain stands, lifting me as he moves to sit beside Maddox.

Chase sits on our other side as the three of them sit back and begin to teach me the basics of using my cellphone, including calling, texting, taking photos, and a game Chase declares is absolutely vital that I play called Angry Birds.

Their numbers are already in there, and Maddox shows me how he added Erica’s number for me too.

My fingers hover over the screen as I think about what to write to her. With the guys watching, I don’t want to be so direct, maybe just a hello and let her know it’s me, as she doesn’t have my number yet.

Hello, Erica. This is Cherry Rosewood, the wolf shifter you met a few days ago. I finally got a cellular phone and wanted to give you my number. Please feel free to text message me anytime. Sincerely, Cherry.

I tilt the screen, letting the others read it and Chase snorts. “What?” I ask. “Did I spell something wrong?” I knew my education wasn’t great, but I thought I’d done a decent job at it.

“You don’t have to be so formal with a text.”

“I think it’s cute,” Maddox says, making me smile at him in thanks.

“You can get across your message with far fewer words,” Chase tells me. “Here, let me show you.” He pulls out his cell from his jeans pocket and starts to type, his fingers moving so quickly it’s rather impressive.

My phone pings and I look at it in surprise. “What does that noise mean?”

“It means Chase just sent you a text,” Bain says as he points to the alert at the top of the screen. “Touch that and it will come up. There you go.”

Excited for my first text, I read it aloud. “Cherry Pie, you look…” I trail off, frowning at the screen as I shake my head. “I can’t understand half of this, and the other half is pictures.”

“They’re emojis,” he tells me. “And it’s easy, here.” He points to my screen as he reads his message. “Cherry Pie, you look fucking hot as hell in that dress. You make me hard as stone, and I can’t wait to knot your tight little—”

“Okay!” I say, pulling it away from him, realizing what the cat emoji probably means. “I get it.” My cheeks heat and Maddox chuckles.

“That really saved you no time at all. Cherry had the right idea. Besides, a properly formed text can do a lot more than convey a message. It should convey feeling.”

“Like you could do better,” Chase grumbles.

Maddox lifts an eyebrow, clearly accepting the challenge as he pulls out his own phone and starts typing. My phone pings, and when I see Maddox's name pop up at the top, I click it.

“My beautiful little mate,” I glance at Maddox, my cheeks heating from the compliment, before I continue reading.

“Every time I look at you, I’m reminded of my love for you.

” I swallow the emotion welling up as I continue.

“I consider myself lucky to have someone as special as you, as my eternal mate. Love, Maddox.”

I turn to him as I whisper, “I’m the lucky one.” He leans forward and kisses me. It’s brief but enough to make me squirm in Bain’s lap. When he pulls back, he glances over my shoulder at Chase and smirks.

“You tell me which text was better received.”

I turn to look at Chase, who’s glaring at Maddox. “Point taken.”

“I’ll do you both one better,” Bain says, his palm tightening on my stomach. “I can show her how I’m feeling with one swipe of my tongue.”

“Bain!” I gasp, unsure exactly where he’s thinking of doing that, and he chuckles against my neck, finding his mate mark there and licking his tongue across it.

My hips jerk against his palm as lust pools beneath it.

“See?” he says before pulling his face back.

“Is he just going to leave me hanging?”

“You need something, angel?” he asks, telling me I said that through the bond.

I squirm in his lap, unsure how to answer.

“Chase might not be able to bond with you right this second, but that doesn’t mean he can’t have a taste,” Maddox says as he reaches down my thigh and starts to drag my dress up, revealing my soaking wet panties to them.

“I haven’t had the pleasure of doing that yet,” Bain says, sounding pained.

“Me either,” Maddox admits.

“Really?” Chase asks, sounding excited. I glance at him, and he licks his lips. “Hunter did, was he the only one?”

I nod my head, unsure I can speak right now as three of my alphas surround me. Their aroused scents fill my nose as the need to be touched by them increases.

Suddenly, Chase is on his knees in front of me, pushing my thighs apart as he leans forward and inhales, making my cheeks heat.

“Fuck, you smell delicious,” he says with a groan as his hands slide up my thighs and grip my panties. His eyes flick to mine as he asks, “May I?”

I nod, lifting my ass to help him slide them all the way down, past my ankles and off my feet. Instead of tossing them away, he shoves them to his nose and inhales, making my eyes widen in shock. Then he shoves them in his pocket and winks at me.

I open my mouth to say—what? I have no idea, but that thought completely disappears as he leans forward and licks through my folds.

I gasp, my hips trying to buck against him. Maddox grabs my right hand and threads his fingers through mine, holding it down as Bain does the same with my other one. His right hand is still on my stomach, keeping me still as Chase utterly consumes me.

Where Hunter was slow and steady, Chase is wild, jumping from licking my entrance to sucking my clit, to thrusting his tongue in me, before doing it all over again.

A strange sense of arousal fills me, and it takes me a moment to realize I’m feeling Maddox’s and Bain’s arousal, as well as my own. The sensation is so overwhelming that, combined with Chase’s enthusiastic efforts, I’m thrown into an orgasm at lightning speed.

I cry out as Chase presses his fingers in me, sending me straight into a second one as I spasm around him.

After that, I’m barely aware of what's happening around me as my body comes back to itself. Eventually, I find my face pressed against a chest, and when I inhale, I know it’s Maddox I’m cuddled up with.

I’m not sure if we’re still on the couch, or in bed, but either way, I feel his contentment with only a hint of worry, and I let that, and his scent, wrap around me as I close my eyes.

I’m not sure why I’ve been gifted with five amazing mates, but I won’t take them for granted. They keep pleasing me and wanting nothing in return.

But I plan to change that.

As soon as I take a little nap…
