Chapter 10

Lennox

These unproductive stakeouts are wearing me thin. I peel a clementine and am immediately reminded of Cecilia’s citrusy scent. It’s tangled in my mind with the sweet scent of her pussy. I stare at the fruit in my hand. Both juicy too.

My mouth waters for so much more than the late-night snack I chose.

The only good thing is that with absolutely nothing happening on the entire street, my mind can replay the feeling of my hand on hers as she came.

And the look on her face when I belted her wrists together. My cock thickens. My hand drifts to the handcuffs that are on my belt. Would she go for that? Should I grab something more fun, a padded set?

The memory shifts into fantasy as I recall her bending over, taking shots of cum to the face, only in this version, she laps at my tip, sucks it, draws every last bit into her mouth.

So fucking wrong! Am I sabotaging any chance for a relationship with Henry? Fucking his ex would be a sure-fire way to avoid dealing with the fact that he doesn’t want anything to do with me.

Henry’s responses are as dead as the storefront we’re watching. Blake might be right. Developing a relationship with my son might take time. Should I back off and do something less obtrusive like send him a birthday card?

Does Hallmark make a card for someone who doesn’t want to hear from you?

I set the clementine on the dash. I feel guilty eating it.

One way or another, I’ll keep trying. The world’s too hard to go through it alone. Growing up, I would have never admitted to needing guidance or someone to fall back on, but in retrospect, the safety net was welcomed.

I’ll be there for him in case he ever changes his mind.

“You gonna eat that?” Blake points at the clementine.

“I hate to admit it, but it reminds me too much of… her.”

Blake chuckles. “You noticed that too?”

I shouldn’t have said anything. Nothing’s going right. My frustration gets the best of me. “The intel has to be bad. Suppose they know we’re onto them?”

“The informant has a good track record,” Blake assures me.

“And yet…” I motion to the storefront.

“There will be a drop tonight. Don’t get so antsy. Want to text—”

“Fancy seeing you here.” Cecilia is knocking on my window.

How the fuck did she sneak up on us?

I glance at Blake who’s equally shocked. We both survey the cab of the truck, noting that we don’t have anything incriminating out. The surveillance camera looks like a cell phone. Blake slides it under his thigh.

More knocks.

I roll the window down. “Where’d you come from? It’s late.”

She motions to a small park between two of the buildings beside us. “I was walking the parade route and saw your truck. The better question is why you’re parked on the side of the road. Let me in.”

“That’s not a goo—”

She’s trying the door handle. It’s locked.

“Wait.” She furrows her brow. “Were you going to say it’s not a good idea?” Her tone shifts from surprised to mockingly dramatic. “Surely you’ve had enough recharge time for the next lesson.”

“It’s not that,” I fumble defensively.

Blake laughs from the passenger seat.

“Seriously? That bench seat has room for three.”

“You shouldn’t be out here all alone.”

“I’m not. I’m here for class.”

“Now isn’t a good time.”

Her playful expression falls. “Got it. We had our fun. It’s time to move on.” She pulls her phone out and seems to be texting.

Blake leans over. “What are you doing?”

“Letting Trena know I’m ready to move to Eggplant Canyon. You have my number if you ever want to visit.” She takes a step away from the truck.

Blake is out of the truck pursuing her before I realize he even unlocked the door. “Get in, Firecracker. You aren’t moving to Eggplant Canyon.”

A hint of playfulness returns. “Give me a good reason.”

He motions between himself and me. “Us. We’re your reason. Get in the truck.”

“Doesn’t seem Dad Bod wants me to.”

My entire body tenses. Do I really have a dad bod? Not much. I look at my waist. Okay, barely. I’m in good shape though. “Get in.” I relent. I’m not sure of my motive. I want to keep her close. I also want to make sure she isn’t on the street when the currier shows up.

But she really shouldn’t be on our stakeout.

She smiles and hurries to Blake’s door, sliding onto the seat. Blake’s right behind her. “Since we’re all free, how about lesson number two? I’m a quick study when I’m interested in the subject… which would not include math or English or science or—”

“We can’t do a lesson here.” The second the words are out of my mouth, I consider that Cecilia doesn’t have the same boundaries as everyone else.

“It’s on my syllabus.”

“You made a syllabus?” I ask.

She taps her temple. “It’s in here.”

What am I going to do, tell her that we’re on a stakeout? “We’re working.”

She grins and makes a show of looking around us at the moonlit street, smattering of parked cars, and shops that are long since closed. Her eyebrows are raised in a challenge. “Why not have a little fun in a truck… while you’re working?”

Blake saves me from imploding. “We’re developers. A lot of these shops are vacant. An investor is interested in sprucing up the area.”

“And how does it help for you to sit here in the dark? With your tinted windows I almost didn’t realize you were in the truck.”

“Just studying the area.” Truth is a good option. I’m always best with that. Which reminds me that she has some explaining to do.

But before I can ask about her parade, she says, “We could really use something fun… a trampoline park, cat cafe, roller rink with a giant disco ball, and basically anything that stays open late—I’m a night owl.”

“Make note of those suggestions, Blake.” I pause until he picks up his phone to carry out the lie and also to steel myself for lying to her. The pause is useful, gives me time to realize I could make some of her dreams come true. My grandma left me a huge inheritance that I invested.

Everyone thought I was crazy for not spending it, but I didn’t know what I would spend it on. They’ll probably think I’m even crazier for finding my answer in Cecilia, my long-lost-son’s ex-girlfriend.

Cecilia’s continued ideas shake me back to reality. “Someone bought the old barbershop, maybe you could coordinate plans and turn this dead zone into a fun zone.”

I pretend to look for the barbershop. “There it is. Make note of that too.” I turn to Cecilia. “Speaking of fun, I wanted to ask you about that parade with no panties.”

“No Panties Day! It’s kind of self-explanatory.

I’m planning a parade where no one is wearing panties.

It’s going to take place right here. People got kind of pissy when I said I was going to do it on Main Street.

My boss, Bev, worried it wouldn’t be hygenic for people to parade past the diner without proper attire.

” She stops to laugh, no doubt remembering our last meeting at the diner.

“So silly. It’s not like we won’t be wearing anything. I’m personally going for a sundress.”

“I’m with your boss. Advertising that you’re not wearing underwear isn’t the best idea.”

Blake adds, “Right here? On this street?”

She nods.

He continues, “How many people will be in the parade?”

“Don’t really have a headcount. We’ve just been telling people and they tell people.”

“What is the point?” Blake asks the question that’s on my mind.

“Mostly just fun. Technically, it’s National Go Commando Day, but Commando can mean too many things. I don’t want guys showing up with guns.”

Blake and I shift uncomfortably.

“Can’t you celebrate in your backyard or something?” Again, as soon as the question is out of my mouth, I know she’ll object. Her free spirit must be put on this earth to balance me. I need someone like her in my life to remind me to loosen up.

But a parade on the day and location of our bust… guys and guns will definitely be involved. Too risky.

She shakes her head. “You mean my parents’ backyard? Not exactly a fun vibe.”

That explains why we can’t go back to her place. Am I so desperate to get laid, I can’t think straight? Can’t see all of the signs pointing to why this—relationship—or whatever I want with her is doomed.

“How about a park? Somewhere contained.”

“How about you don’t rain on my parade. There are enough people telling me what I can and can’t do. Let’s revisit something more fun like the lesson for the day.” She points at the clementine on the dash. “Can I have that?”

I nod.

Blake chuckles. “Today’s lesson… the syllabus item you were about to mention.”

She finishes the clementine and boops his nose. “You know how in movies it looks like a guy’s just sitting in a truck then a woman lifts her head from giving him a blow job? I want to do that.”

“Did you forget part of the first lesson? You always come first. Any requests there?” Blake is playing right into her charade.

I wish I could let go like the two of them. I want to. I also wish that we could finish this job and get out of this town, taking her with us. And then there’s my wish that Henry would accept me and my side of the story. The chances of any of those things happening is slim.

She raises her hand.

“Yes, Cecilia.” The formality in Blake’s voice makes me laugh.

“In the interest of a proper education, we need to keep variety in the lessons. For instance, I want to come last so I don’t have to do anything afterward.”

“She has a good point, Professor Ackerman.”

I’m surprised Blake hasn’t whipped his cock out yet. Seeing that I’m going to lose this battle, I make an effort. “Fine, Professor Chamberlain. It’s worth exploring.”

Cecilia kisses my cheek. “Maybe I have two good boys.”

A shot of cum soaks my underwear. The jealousy over hearing her call Blake that ridiculous nickname was hard enough to understand. That’s not something that should turn a grown man on.

“Who’s first?”

“Hold on,” I say. “We need to clearly establish how you will be satisfied first—I mean, we have to clarify it before we start, not that you have to go first.” I stop myself from rambling. I’m so not into roleplaying.

“Right, my suggested syllabus item… A Study in Face-sitting.”
