31. Chapter 30

Thunder – Three Days Later

I slowly lick my bottom lip as I eye the club's gate before I look down at my old dirt bike, which I’m currently straddling.

Three days, and my wife had all but shut me out, given me no communication, even where Sammie is concerned. Instead, she’ll go through Sammie, who winces every time he has to tell me something.

Should a now seven-year-old as of yesterday know his aunt is pissed and that she isn’t talking to me? No, not really, but he’s also very bright and knew something wasn’t right when he went to the medical room to check on his aunt and found me sitting outside the door.

I admitted I messed up and that his auntie is pregnant, which was all my fault.

Instead of acting confused, the little terror laughed.

Just like he’s laughed every time Demon has shat in my shoes, on the guest bedding that I use at the moment or even been thrown into the shower with me where he clawed the shit outta me.

My wife is still very much pissed, especially after Doc confirmed she is indeed nine weeks pregnant, but I have had enough.

The nights are long and cold and the days are silent, and I need my wife. So, I’m doing something that will piss her off enough to have to talk to me, something I promised the club I wouldn’t do.

“Oh, fuck no, hell no, get off that fucking bike right now!” I hear Ace snap while a female laughs, I know that is probably his wife, Molly.

“At least he isn’t using his Harley,” Molly giggles, and Ace growls, “Don’t fucking encourage him! We’ve been through this before, I won’t do it again!”

“She won’t talk to me, brother,” I say as I stare at the gate while the prospect in the hut watches me closely.

“Because you fucked with her birth control to try and get her to move in with you!” Ace snaps, “But this, it isn’t okay, Thunder, and you know it! She deserves time to be angry.”

“And I’m too selfish to allow her time,” I grunt, and I quickly start the bike and rev it, causing Ace to shout, “Jim, open the fucking gate!” and I spin, then speed off towards the metal gate that is slowly opening.

“Fuck!” I hear Ace shout, along with Molly’s, “Thunder!” and my front wheel gets trapped in the gate's bar, and I fly over the handlebars, and I brace myself.

Fuck this is going to hurt…

I land with a thump but scrape across the asphalt, my left arm instantly hurting, and I grunt with the impact before groaning because fuck…

“You fucking idiot!” Ace snaps as he kneels over me and helps me roll onto my back, and I gasp at the sharp pain in my arm.

“What the fuck?!” I hear before Dirty leans over me, and he groans, “Scottie is going to kill you,” and I retort, “But she’ll speak to me,” and the man drops his head while Molly tries to hide her giggles, causing Ace to glare at her.

“Let’s get you to the hospital,” Dirty sighs, and I groan, “Okay…” They try to help me up causing pain to shoot right through me, but I try to ignore it because I know I get to see my wife.

Like it or not, baby, I’m on my way.

***

“Tank!” Dirty shouts as he helps me inside the ER, and the large fucker looks our way with a frown. His eyes widen seeing my arm over Dirty’s shoulder, my other arm all cut up.

“What the…” he trails before he rushes our way, and I hear Doc demand, “What happened?”

“Idiot went over his handlebars,” Ace snaps, “After crashing into the club gate.”

Both brothers stop instantly and put their hands up before stating in unison, “Not it!” and I smirk despite the pain in my arm.

“Is Dr. Hills around by any chance?” I ask, and Doc shakes his head while Tank's shoulders shake with silent laughter.

“Let me guess, she’s still pissed?” Doc confirms, and I grunt, “And she will be until she gives birth, knowing my luck.”

“Dr. Hills to the ER, I repeat, Dr. Hills to the ER,” I hear over the overhead speakers, and I look to the desk to find Rose shaking her head at me.

I send her a wink as Doc sighs, “Bring him to room two.”

Dirty does as Doc demands and guides me, once inside, the fucker throws me on the bed, and I grunt, “Rude!”

“Well, maybe you need to stop doing this shit, I thought it stopped when you met Scottie?” he snaps and a sweet angel sighs, “No it didn’t, he’d come into my ER whenever he missed me with an injury but never something this big,” and I look to the entrance and smile wide as I lock eyes with my pissed off wife.

“Treasure, how’s your shift going?” I ask her, and she narrows her eyes while Dirty looks everywhere but at her to stop his laughter at my audacity.

“It was going good despite the sudden nausea until you showed up!” she growls, “What the hell, Bradley?!”

“I wanted to hear your voice,” I admit, and she shakes her head and walks into the room with Doc and Tank behind her, all of us just squeezing in.

“You couldn’t just call her like a normal person,” Molly says with a smirk, and Ace grunts, “He doesn’t know how to be normal.”

I shrug, but then wince, and Scottie takes my arm, looking over it.

“You’ve got second-degree road rash, Bradley!” she snaps, and I wince because it hurts like a bitch.

“Dr. Hills, what is the treatment?” Doc asks, trying to distract her, and she takes a deep breath before she grits, “The wound needs cleaning and to be kept moist to prevent infection and to minimize scarring!”

Shit.

“Fuck, Thunder, isn’t having surgery enough to stop this kind of shit?!” Tank snaps and I take a deep breath.

“Brothers and Molly, can I have a moment with my wife, please?” I say, and they don’t hesitate to turn and leave, but as the curtain closes, I know they are still out there, eaves dropping, and I grunt, “I can still see you.”

“And? We’re out of the room,” Ace says, and I roll my eyes before locking them with my wife’s teary ones.

“I’m sorry,” I say softly, and she sniffles.

“For what exactly?” she asks, “For doing this? Or for trying to get me pregnant to get your own way?”

“Treasure, I’m not going to apologize for the baby,” I begin, “I get it, I shouldn’t have done what I did, I should have spoken to you about kids.

I can’t apologize because I am so fucking excited that we get to give Sammie a sibling.

That is exactly what that baby will be to him, a little brother or sister.

” I gently grip her hips and pull her closer, “I am sorry for doing this instead of just showing up, but I guess old habits die hard.”

“But this time you have a wife who hates seeing you hurt,” she chokes as a few tears fall and I instantly fucking hate myself.

I can’t keep doing this to her, I knew it before I rode into the gate but fuck, I was out of options.

“I am sorry,” I say softly, and I cup her jaw with one hand, my other going to her still flat stomach, and I promise, “I won’t do it again.”

I hear disbelief in her snort, and Scottie giggles slightly when Doc's “Yeah and did you know pigs can fly,” hits us, and I roll my eyes.

Fucker.

“You just want me to stop letting Felix shit in your shoes and to let you come back to bed,” she jokes as she sniffles and I smirk.

“Well, if that stops and I get to hold you again, then that would be a bonus,” I chuckle, and she sighs.

“I’m allowed to be mad,” she whispers, and I nod and agree, “You are, but being mad doesn’t mean taking you away because that is what you’ve done for three days.

The first night, yeah sure, but not three days, baby.

How you see me right now, all banged up, and how you feel, is how I feel every day you ignore me,” her mouth parts, “I need you, Scottie, you keep me sane.”

“So, be mad but let you hold me at night?” she confirms, and I nod.

“Yeah, baby, be mad but let me hold you,” I say before I hear Molly mutter, “Thunder is the only sane brother that actually gets it right…”

“Hey,” all the men snap, and Scottie grins wide while I chuckle as I bring her closer and I whisper, “I am so godman happy about this baby,” and she softens.

Even though she’s mad, we both know she also is excited about the baby.

“Patch me up, baby, then we can go home to Sammie,” I murmur, and she nods just as the curtain opens and Doc demands, “Why are you not killing him right now?” then snaps, “You should be killing him, this is too fucking weird!” and Scottie laughs while I shake my head with a smile.

“You sound just like Axel,” Scottie says with a grin, and the MC brothers all scowl while Molly and Rose look at my girl with pride.

“Thunder is fucking lucky,” Ace grunts and I nod because yeah, I am because this woman, despite my fuck ups and my need for her, always ensures me and our children are put first.

Growing old with Scottie, watching our kids and grandkids, is something I never thought I’d ever have. She gives it all to me and I’ll never fucking take her for granted. I may piss her off when I continue to mess with her birth control so we can expand our family.

Let’s hope Sammie doesn’t take after me…
