Chapter 12

“What’s wrong?” I glanced over at Harvest, but her eyes were glued to her phone. Something had happened because she suddenly stopped rubbing the back of my neck. That shit was feeling good too.

“This,” she said as she held up her phone.

I quickly looked at it, then back on the road. We weren’t far from the hotel, and I prayed that there weren’t any paparazzi outside now that the secret was out.

“I guess the cat’s out the bag.” I shrugged. I wasn’t worried about it, but it seemed as though Harvest was.

When we arrived at the hotel, I pulled around the back so we could enter at a different entrance. It wasn’t one that was open to the public, so I wasn’t worried about anyone seeing us.

“You’re okay with this?” Harvest asked.

“Yeah, why not?”

She bit her bottom lip and rubbed her hand over her knee. A look crossed her face, and I wasn’t sure what the problem was. Instead of getting out of the car, I asked her again what the issue was.

“So, before I left home, I had a boyfriend. We are on a break, but we haven’t officially broken up. He’s been sending me text messages, but I haven’t responded.”

She looked worried about my response, but she had nothing to worry about at all.

“Key word, had. I don’t give a fuck about him; you’re my wife.” That man was stupid as hell, letting her put them on a break and he went along with it. A break was an opportunity for another person to take their place, and that was what the fuck I did.

“But–” she started to say, but I cut her off.

“Listen, this is our last night here, and we need to make the most of it. Forget all that other shit. The only thing I’m worried about is spending more time with you before we have to go our separate ways, temporarily.

” I had to throw that last part out there, because there was no way I was letting her go.

I pushed the door open, then grabbed our bags from the trunk.

After I had what we needed, I opened her door, then helped her out of the car.

I’d clean the car out in the morning before it was returned.

I held Harvest’s hand as we walked toward the door.

Once we arrived, I held it open for her, then followed behind her.

She had gotten quiet, so I knew that shit bothered her, but I knew what would take her mind off it.

“Don’t fucking run from me. Keep that arch in your back.” I smacked Harvest on her left ass cheek.

The minute we entered the suite, I dropped our bags and led her to the bedroom.

We had sex on the road, but I wanted her again.

Knowing that she had someone who may have been waiting for her to return made me want to turn some shit up on her.

Harvest wasn’t leaving me for that nigga.

I didn’t know who he was, and I didn’t give a fuck.

Clearly, he was dumb. Unless he was doing some shit and didn’t want her to find out.

It didn’t matter to me. He would have to see me if he thought they would ride off into the sunset.

I pushed Harvest down as I pounded into her. I needed her to feel what this was between us.

Harvest moaned as she pushed back into me. My bottom lip was tucked in between my teeth as I watched her ass shake.

“So fucking wet. You think you going back to that nigga?” I pulled her head back by her ponytail.

“Is that what you think, Harvest?” She didn’t answer me, so I smacked her ass.

“Is it?” I wanted my dick so deep into her that she’d forget about homeboy.

I didn’t care if he took her virginity; I wanted him out of her brain.

Hell, I wanted to erase her memory of any man that came before me.

“No,” she cried out.

Her nectar shot out of her, wetting my dick and my stomach in the process. Harvest squeezed my nut right out of me.

It took us a minute for our breaths to return to normal, then we got out of bed to clean up.

Once we were done, we got back in bed and cuddled with a movie on the television.

“Why haven’t you mentioned this dude?” I asked Harvest. It didn’t make a difference either way. I was just curious.

Harvest had her head on my chest as I rubbed her booty. She told me during one of our conversations that she loved having her butt rubbed, so I rubbed it every chance I could.

“Considering, none of this was planned, and I just got swept up. I wasn’t trying to hide it, and you never asked.”

“I didn’t because I didn’t and don’t care. I don’t remember seeing dude on your page, so I assumed you were single.”

“I never posted him because majority of my stuff on my page is about modeling. Plus, I am single.”

I lifted her left hand and held it up.

“This ring says otherwise.” I had to remind her that she was my wife regardless of what she had at home.

“You know what I mean, Boston.”

“I guess. I just want you to remember that shit. The why isn’t even important to me. It wasn’t going to change anything. We not going to sweat that shit, though. Everything and everyone will be there when we get home.” I kissed her forehead.

We stayed quiet for a few minutes, until Harvest spoke up.

“What made you want to get married in Vegas?”

“It wasn’t necessarily my first choice. She wanted to get married here after watching a movie where one of the couples got married at that water fountain. I’m glad she did, though, or I would have never met you.”

“Yeah, but if she would have come, you wouldn’t have met me either.”

After spending this time with Harvest, I couldn’t imagine not being able to be in her world. She gave me a high that drugs couldn’t do. It wasn’t that I tried every drug, but I just knew nothing could make me feel the way Harvest did.

“I don’t even want to think about not meeting you. We are married now, baby.”

Harvest rolled her eyes and smirked. “I know because you keep reminding me.”

I chuckled because she hadn’t told a single lie.

“I feel even better now that the world knows, but I know you have to handle your shit.” I slipped my arm from around her and pushed her onto her back.

“In the meantime, I’m going to make sure there are no doubts in your mind about us once we separate.”

I took my time easing inside of her. I made sure to look into her eyes as I fucked her slowly.

I didn’t know if it was too soon, but I wanted to utter those three words to her, but I bit my lip instead.

I didn’t want to scare her off, and I wanted her to really be sure about what she wanted to do.

For her to offer a break instead of an actual break made me think that she considered going back to him when she got home.

At the same time, it showed that their relationship was on rocky ground from the beginning, so I had nothing to worry about.

I knew she didn’t expect to meet me in the process, and damn sure not marry me. These few days should be enough to let her know what she needed to do.

My gut and my heart told me Harvest would remain Mrs. Brooks when all of this was over.
