Chapter 20 The Shattered Bowl

One night during a feast, Yin Xiu slipped away from the table.

I did not follow.

Instead I deliberately smashed a bowl in front of everyone.

All eyes turned to me.

I trembled like a sieve, shaking as violently as the melon jelly on the table.

The Herchi King immediately sensed something was wrong.

I refused to speak, but my eyes kept darting toward Herdanba’s empty seat.

What good could come from both a man and a woman leaving the feast at the same time?

The Herchi King stormed off in fury to catch the pair.

Yin Xiu had prepared well.

When the crowd looked across the vast grassland, they saw only Herdanba gripping her tightly.

One was the king’s favored consort.

The other was a heavily relied-upon minister.

For a moment no one knew how to intervene.
