DAVID

It had been a rough week for yours truly.

Not only had I been getting odd vibes from my wife, but now my boss was eyeing me differently.

I had no idea why. I’d been a fabulous employee in the eight years I’d worked there, surpassing every quota I’d ever been presented with. I’d been promoted three times and was one of the younger vice presidents in the company.

And yet, something told me my boss was looking at me differently lately.

Maybe I was being paranoid, and this was all an offshoot of the gathering disapproval I was gaining for my wife.

What I didn’t realize is that I wouldn’t have to wait long.

Within a week, I’d have answers to both.
