Combat Photographer Under Siege

In 1994, combat photographer Brenna Rease and television producer Grace Alcott board a Herc C-130 bound for a besieged Balkan city just as a major military offensive begins.

A Pulitzer Prize winner, Brenna has spent two and a half years embedded in war, and the atrocities she has witnessed have pushed her near the edge; she knows she should get out before the work kills her, yet she cannot refuse the documentary she has always wanted to shoot.

Grace finds Brenna’s personal reputation repugnant, expects her to be a management nightmare, and wants nothing to do with her, but with her own job at stake she is forced to hire her anyway.

For three brutal days, both women believe escaping alive is impossible.

Neither of them considers what survival will demand once they make it back to Washington, D. C.
