Chapter Eight
. . .
The boys kiss too.
Moon: Hey! Where are you? I’m done teaching until later.
Me: In my room.
Moon: Breakfast. Pool. Come down.
Me: Nope.
Moon: Why?
Me: I just hit Wells with a dick.
Moon: I’m coming up.
Five minutes later, I’m pacing back and forth in front of the scene of the crime, my bed, when Moon lets herself in.
“What is going on? Explain ‘hit Wells with a dick.’”
I stare at her, hoping my looks can kill because all of this, and I do mean all of this, is her fault. That’s the one thing I’ve become the most sure about.
“Well, where would you like me to start?” I snap.
She begins to answer, but I cut her off because my question is rhetorical.
“Should I start at the beginning when I became newly divorced, and my sister decided to lie to a group of men and tell them I wanted to play musical dicks?”
“Lie?” She raises her brows, but I keep going and wave my hand to shut her up.
“Or should I skip forward to the part where I keep making a fool of myself in front of them, regardless of my attraction?”
She shrugs and tries to butt in again, but I zip my fingers in front of my lips.
“Maybe the best spot to start is when I tell that group of men I have to pee just so I can run upstairs to self-care. Only to get caught because I hit one of them in the face with my dildo.”
Her hand shoots over her face as she starts to laugh, but I ignore her, lethally drawing out my next word.
“Orrr,” I emphasize. “How about we fast-forward all the way to ten minutes ago, when I got officially invited to be the subject of a gang bang. Tonight. Then was asked, maybe for future planning purposes, ‘who’ I was using as my masturbation material?”
I’m out of breath as we stand in complete and utter silence, staring back at each other. Frankly, there is no part in any of what I said that should ever be discussed again, and yet I can see her mind circulating through the choices before she finally lands on, “Wait. Who was your muse?”
I could throw my shoe at her, but I’m not wearing any.
“Sloane,” I shriek, making her shoulders jump. “I’m gonna need all hands on deck right now. The shit has hit the proverbial fan. And I’m spiraling.”
She rolls her eyes with that look on her face like she thinks I’m being dramatic. So I help connect the dots.
“I said yes, Moon.”
She blinks three times, neither of us saying a word because I can’t believe I said yes, and neither can she. But the way we’re both staring at each other as matching smiles begin to morph shock to holy fucking shit says it all.
A squeal accompanied by her attacking me makes me laugh before we’re jumping up and down.
“Okay,” she breathes out, as flustered as I am, before letting me go. “That is a baddie plot twist I didn’t see coming at this stage in the game.”
“Yeah.” I nod what feels like a hundred times.
“But what the fuck do I do now? I can’t actually do this.
I have to take it back. It’s not like there’s a tutorial online…
I looked. There’s nary a Reddit post. How the fuck do I completely change my personality in the next eight hours and do something I had no business agreeing to? ”
“I can’t believe you actually said yes.”
“Me either.”
“I honestly thought maybe they’d flirt with you enough to get you revved up for some stockbroker you’d meet at a bar next week. But wow…this far exceeds my expectations.”
“Fuck.” I shake my head as I squeeze my eyes closed because panic just hit me square in the eyes. “You’re the one who said I needed a new me for this era. Why did I listen? Why did I say yes? What was I thinking?”
She makes her way to my bed and jumps on it, making herself comfy. “Hell no. Stop it. No buyer’s remorse. I’m so proud of you, Margot.”
“Yeah, but…” I fan my armpits because I feel like I’m sweating. “I had a momentary out-of-body experience and spoke without thinking. I can’t do this. Not for real.”
“Bullshit. You spoke your truth. You can do this.”
“Don’t make this a crystals-and-quotes moment. I can’t take it.”
“All I’m saying is, yes, you might have been disassociating when you agreed. But really it just allowed the part of you, who has been dying to get out, to finally show up.”
I hate to admit that I actually understood that.
“Yeah, well, that version is gone again because I’m just me.
The me who doesn’t know how to do this. And it’s not like I can phone a friend.
” I throw my arms up. “Why couldn’t you have been sluttier in life?
All your hippie-pegging sex isn’t helping me.
I need a sister who specializes in a group discount. ”
She laughs, then shoots to her feet, her eyes the size of saucers.
“Wait. Hold on.” Her laugh makes me nervous. “You can phone a friend.”
I frown, totally confused. “What?”
Her phone is in her hand as she types quickly over the keys. Before I can press her, my own phone vibrates.
“What are you doing?” is all I get out before I read the message.
Moon: My loves! Let me introduce my sister…Margot. She needs some very particular advice, and I knew just who to come to.
She looks up at me. “Say hi.”
I don’t even question it, just type.
Me: Hi.
Bubbles populate before dings sound one right after another. Moon beelines for me, stealing my phone.
“Let me add everyone so you know who’s who.”
She hands my phone back to me, and I look down.
Millie: Moon!!! Where have you been, La Vida Loca? And hi, Margot! Welcome to the Gang-Banger Sisters group chat.
Eleanor: And still hate the name. “Two girls, one cup of Chad” was a missed opportunity. And hi, Margot!
Samantha: Elle, why…like, seriously! That’s disgusting. Even if Chad is a piece of shit. P.S. Hi, Margot. I’m so sorry for everyone else, but we’ve heard so much about you. And it’s awesome to have another older sister here.
I laugh. “Who are these people?”
“These are some of my best friends in the world.” She glances up at me. “We met under precarious circumstances when I moved to Hawaii. We bonded over revenge and girlhood before I orchestrated a Dirty Dancing moment. It was epic. I thought I told you.”
She didn’t. This is so on brand for her.
“They’re the reason I met Scottie.” She smiles. “Millie is your niece’s second spiritual godmother. You being her first, obvi.”
I can’t decide if I’m trying to catch up or keep up, so I say, “Amazing, but why am I in a group chat with them?”
She winks and gets back to typing.
Moon: Margot has been invited to a group sitch… and since you girlies are living the dream, she needs the kind of advice only you can give.
“They all do…men, plural?” I say, surprised. She nods, still typing while ignoring my commentary.
Moon: Obvi you all know her history. Sad face.
“Really?” I huff, looking up at her profile. “It somehow feels worse that you wrote it and didn’t use the emoji. And does everyone you’ve ever known know my life story?”
Moon: But… The universe is smiling on her. The boys made their big move and invited her over tonight. I knew all they needed was a little push in the right direction. So glad I set this up.
My head tips back so I face the ceiling. “This is so embarrassing. And you’re a manipulative personality with narcissistic tendencies.”
“Puhleasse,” she counters, still mainly ignoring me. “You’re welcome.”
Moon: So tips and tricks are much appreciated. You girls are goddesses. Teach my big sister the ropes, please, because god knows she needs so much dick to replace the stick up her ass.
“Thanks. Thanks a lot for that,” I grumble as she grins.
But even though my sarcasm is dripping, I’m still watching the screen like I’m playing lotto numbers.
Despite the panic that I know was in that moment when Wells laid it out, I’ve never wanted something more. It’s more than the sex; it’s doing something so outside the idea of who I am that I get a rebirth.
I want to have a week of incredible sex and learn everything I’ve never known so when I leave here, I know myself in a way I was never introduced to.
“Where’d they go?” I rush out, because there aren’t any bubbles.
Nobody’s saying anything.
But before either of us can speak, our phones begin ringing—they’re FaceTiming.
We answer at the same time, from across the room, to a cluster of excited voices and squeals. And I laugh. I actually laugh.
A bubbly girl claps her hands. “This is incredible. I’m so happy for you. Trust me, it’s going to feel overwhelming, but you just need to lean in. When I met Nate and TJ, nobody could’ve convinced me that two was better than one. But it was.”
Another girl with a rock the size of a small country laughs.
“I mean…it depends on the one.” She waves.
“Technically, I don’t have brother-husbands like my sister and Millie.
Crew, my ball and chain, is way too territorial.
But I know my way around multiple dicks.
And glory be, bitch. It’s a legit time to be had.
Word to the wise though: Ibuprofen. You’re not gonna walk for a week. ”
My eyes pop open, and Moon laughs. “Don’t scare her, Elle. This is way outside Margot’s comfort zone. I told you she’s basically a virgin.” I scowl, but she blows me a kiss over the phone. “But I’m proud of her because she’s finally saying yes to herself.”
Is this a cult? Because it all seems to make sense to them, but I feel like I’m having an out-of-body experience.
The last woman, who smiles into the camera before she’s handed a cup of coffee from a man off-screen, says, “I bet you’re wondering if your sister’s initiating you into a cult?”
“Yes,” I breathe out, happy someone seems to get it.
“Well, if we are one,” she laughs, “then that makes me the matriarch.”
“The OG, for non-nerds,” Eleanor adds with a chuckle.
“Yep,” Samantha continues. “I was the Lewis and Clark of the gang bang. So whatever questions you have, throw them at me. Because trust me, there’s absolutely no judgment here. I’ve been where you are, and it’s daunting. And overwhelming.”
My shoulders relax for the first time as I smile back at these women.
I cannot believe that in the last forty-eight hours, I’ve gone from being someone who lived inside her comfort zone and felt like it was the only way I could thrive to suddenly owning ass-baring bikinis, embarrassing myself in new and undiscovered ways, while entertaining the idea of bedding three twenty-eight-year-old men.
But like Moon says, “New era, new me.”
So now here I stand, ready to take a big, giant leap into the most unconventional, radical, deliciously slutty pond to ever be swum in.
“First things first,” Samantha says. “Do the boys kiss, or is this a spotlight on your adventure?”
I grin because the memory of Wells, just in my room, jumps to the forefront of my mind.
“What time tonight?” I breathe out, staring back at him, totally confused by my clarity and bravery.
“Nine.”
I swallow. “I don’t know how to do this.”
He’s walking toward me, eyes locked to mine.
“We’ll show you.”
“Are there rules?”
The way he’s looking at me is sending a hot flame through my body, and it’s pooling in all the right places. Even though I’m staring up at him, Wells puts his fingers under my chin to keep my eyes on his.
“There’s only one rule…” His voice is husky as he says it. “Whatever feels good, we do more of it.”
I suck in a deep inhale because he puts my dildo between his lips, taking it slowly into his mouth, like he’s sucking it before he pulls it out with a pop.
“Sometimes I like doing that,” he adds. “Now here, go on and think about me again. Because it’s nice and wet for you.”
I clear my throat, bringing me back from the memory, as I smile back at the expectant faces.
“Yeah,” I giggle. “The boys kiss too.”
