CHAPTER 4 #3

“Why? If you wish to feel and know me, why stop? Are you afraid I’m right? Afraid of your true nature? Touch me, Alexa.”

My hand slowly slid up his arm and grasped his wrist just as his fingers massaged above my core.

I focused on the white ceiling when one of his fingers slid over my clit and down through the center of my sex. Every touch burned, setting me on fire, and expanded throughout my body.

“Even now, you grow wet from my caress, and your breaths are shallow, companion.”

When his finger circled my opening, I inhaled sharply. “My name is Alexa.”

“If I sucked your nipple, would you come for me, Alexa? Would that prove our compatibility? I’ve studied human anatomy and Sanctarian women, so I know what you like. Tell me no, and I’ll stop. Tell me you don’t feel what I feel.”

I couldn’t say anything because what he said was true, and when he leaned over my breast, blew on it, and sucked it into his mouth, the blood raced in my veins. My body instantly heated as his thick finger slipped inside me, mimicking the sucking of his mouth and the swirls of his tongue.

Against all odds, I responded to him, enjoying the pleasure he gave even if it was without emotion.

“Tell me we aren’t compatible, Alexa, because your body and my body say something else,” he whispered over my nipple before sucking harder.

The tingling I’d felt in the cave began again, and I lifted one hand, staring at the molecules of light rushing through my veins before laying it on Naraq’s head. Soft hair cradled my palm as the molecules seemed to move between our bodies, increasing in vibrancy and speed.

My muscles tightened within ten seconds, and to my embarrassment, I shattered in a vibrant orgasm on his finger, wishing to taste his mouth and feel him sinking inside me.

“Yes, Alexa. Come for your companion,” he praised, pumping me faster with his finger until I cried out from the pleasure coursing through my body.

I’d just spiraled down from the orgasm when Naraq leaned over me, his mouth hovering above mine. “There is no question that we are compatible or that you feel anything when with me.”

“Emotions, Naraq. Physical reactions are common,” I tried to rationalize.

“Physical reactions bring emotional responses. Never think of the two as separate. What you just experienced isn’t common.”

Stunned and still riding the orgasmic euphoria, I could only stare at the alien who’d become an infatuation when starlight pinpricks flickered in his eyes, and he ran his tongue over his lips as if he tasted our exchange without a drop ever touching his tongue.

Oxygen rushed into my lungs from the breath I’d held, but there were no words to describe what just happened, nor could I explain it.

“Only a compatible couple can do that.”

“You fed from me,” rushed out. “Why don’t I feel different?”

“That was just a taste of your soul. When we bond, I will take more, and you will take from me.”

“No.”

“You can’t stop it, Alexa. You are part Sanctarian.”

“And what is that light in my veins?”

“Our life-force. Your life-force. As long as we are together, we will share it. I see mine in your eyes just as you saw yours.”

It was a battle I was positive I wouldn’t win. He was too powerful, Sanctarian technology too advanced, and the attraction between us pulsating like a new star on the verge of an explosion.

“I can see distorted pieces of your life in my mind.”

“And I see yours, Alexa.”

“But there was no blood exchange?”

“Our life-force carries blood molecules, and so do yours. All living things have a life-force.”

“But not all living things have type O negative blood.”

“Correct.”

I licked my lips while sifting through the fragmented memories, trying to put the pieces of his life together as if it were a complicated puzzle.

“Put this on,” Naraq added, reaching for a black, silky jumpsuit before I could ask more questions. “Unless you prefer to remain naked?”

The hint of a smile lifted the corner of his lips, and I waited, hoping to see more of the playful side he hid. My face tilted from the naughtiness I thought I saw in his eyes, but then they lowered, and he turned away. “Thank you,” I said to his back with the moment gone.

“You’re welcome. We will arrive in five minutes.”

“Arrive where?”

“The Command Ship.”

“And if I don’t want to leave Earth?”

“You know we never intended to remain here, Alexa, and it’s time you saw your second home.”

“What if I changed my mind?”

Naraq stood and backed me against the table, both hands braced on either side of me. “I’ll never let you go now.”

I swallowed the lump in my throat while gazing into his onyx eyes. “Possessive, much?” I teased, trying to lighten the moment, wanting to grab his face, the face I’d obsessed over since his arrival, and kiss him so hard he saw stars.

His dark gaze glided over my face, lingered on my mouth, and his face lowered until our cheeks brushed. “Possessive is a weak word compared to what I feel about you, Alexa,” he breathed into my ear.

A shiver cascaded over every inch of my body and remained long after he’d pulled away.
