No sooner had the thought crossed my mind than did the scent of the sea and the warmth of the sun blow through the room. On its heels was the tsunami of Magic that danced all over my skin, infusing me with an unquenchable desire to be one, physically, with my One True Fated Mate.
And my man was right on board.
Kai’s Enchantment grew. The Magic of the Ancient Dragons flowing through my veins answered the call. The Dragon Fire deep within my very being roared to life, and from one beat of our hearts to the next, our clothes disappeared and we were gloriously naked.
There was no more thought, no planning– we were all instinct and passion. I wanted to touch every inch of Kai’s body, mark him with my scent, my touch. I never wanted him to doubt that he belonged to me just as much as I belonged to him– and apparently, my man had the same idea.
Moving backward, our minds in bodies in complete sync, the instant my back touched the wall, I tilted my hips to his, lifted my legs, and wrapped them around his waist. Flesh met flesh, the tip of Kai’s erection bumped my excited clit, and all I could do was scream to the Heavens, “I love you, Kai Rí. Make me yours forever.”
“I love you, Martha, Mary Margaret Dellencourt.” His voice burst to life in my mind, and it was the last piece of the puzzle that was our eternity together.
Opening myself to my Mate, the breath was stolen from my lungs, and my heart skipped a whole lotta beats as in one fluid motion he slid inside my body, and we were one as the Universe, Fate, the Great Goddess, and God with a capital G always intended.
Slowing for a few brief seconds, then faster and harder, he moved in and out of me as I met him stroke for stroke.
And all the while we looked into one another's eyes, our hearts and souls intertwined, our love growing into more than we ever could have imagined.
It was wonderful. It was life-affirming.
It was the realization of the promise made by the Great Goddess and the Universe on the day to each and every one of Their children.
Quicker, harder, we moved as one, and just like that, our love exploded in the most seismic orgasm to ever occur. On and on, both of roaring our love and adoration, my Mate and I leaned forward, bared our necks to one another, and right then and there let our canines sink into the flesh.
Our climax was renewed. Wave after wave of unrelenting passion rolled through and between us. Nothing mattered but Kai and our bond. I never wanted to end, and neither did he.
Hours later, after making love to my Fae King, my one and only Mate until my muscles ached in the best of ways and my heart was so full of love, I thought it might burst, the question that had been poking at the back of my brain finally came together.
Before I could even get my eyes all the way open, it popped right out of my mouth.
"How long have you been in Dragoon Bootay? And did Fate have anything to do with you being here?”
“Would you believe I just got here last night? And I do not have confirmation that Fate had anything to do with it, but I know that I was led here by a great power.”
Rolling over on my tummy, sure to stay in the cradle of his arms, not worried that I was completely naked for the first time in my long life, I lay my hand on his chest and my chin on the back of my hand and grinned, “No way! Really? You just got here last night, and even though you felt compelled to be here, not once did you see a tall, bombshell with a killer rack and rainbow-colored hair dressed in camo and wearing combat boots?”
"Swear to the Goddess, I just got here last night," he chuckled, the sound kickstarting my libido all over again and the rumble of his chest tickling my hardened nipples. “And I know very well what Fate looks like, but I haven’t seen her in ages. Why do you ask?”
“Let’s just say she has a way of turning my life upside-down on a whim.”
Once again, he chuckled, and I just barely kept my composure. I wanted that man so bad I was sure my eyes were crossed and my heart was going to beat out of my chest.
I would never get enough of my man – never ever never. I was in lurve, lubs, and love, and that was all there was to it.
“Well, I guess Fate could have had a hand in our meeting. You see, three days ago, I had the craziest, most wonderful dream. I saw you, my gorgeous Dragon Queen, the Welcome to Dragoon Bootay sign that no one but the Magical can see, and the front of your coffee shop. The next day, I woke up to find an email asking me to take over the Dragoon Bootay Fire Brigade. I called Mayor Stonebeak, and she asked me to come as soon as possible. One more call to my guys, two days to get us all in one place, and well, here we are.”
“If I’ve said it once, I’ve said it a hundred times – Fate will not be denied, and Destiny is my new best friend.”
“I like the way you think,” Kai purred. “And I love you, Martha Mary Margaret Dellencourt-soon-to-be Rí.
I love you so much. I think we might never leave this bed.
Well, maybe just long enough for you to make some of that world-famous coffee of yours, and to make our Mating official.
Goddess knows we're gonna need our strength for what I have planned.”
Scooting up his body, loving the way his breath hitched, and the deep blue of his eyes started to swirl, I once again felt our hearts beating in sync, and I pressed my lips to his.
Kissing my Fae King with every ounce of love I felt and the hope of all our tomorrows, I whispered directly into his mind, “And I love you, Kai Rí. More than all the coffee, chocolate, and all the shiny things in the world. Now, lie still and let me have my wicked way with you. Coffee comes later. And as for a proposal, that was cute, but I want a real one.”
“Damn, woman,” he sighed, returning my kiss, our passion, adoration, and love growing with every passing second. “I do love the way you think, and your wish is my command.”
