Chapter Ten

brIELLE

Eleanor looked up at me. “Come in, dear. Have a seat. Tell me, how are things coming along?”

I took a deep breath and then explained everything to her. “Before today, I would have said he still had a lot of work ahead of us. But after today and what I showed Jameson, I think he is finally coming around to the idea, but I don’t want to push it too hard right now. I am just now scratching under the surface.”

“I am very pleased to hear this, Brielle. They said you were the best, and I’ve already seen some improvement. Do you think you can convince him to attend the next charity function?”

“I’m sure I can get him to.”

Eleanor stood, extending her hand. “Thank you so much for updating me. I’d like to pay for you and a friend to have a spa day.”

I chuckled nervously. “That won’t be necessary.”

“Please, I insist.”

Excited, I said, “Okay. I’d like that.”

She seemed pleased. “I’ll set it up and send you the details.”

“Thank you so much.”

“Of course. Have a good day.”

“You too.”

I headed back to Jameson’s office. He doesn’t look up when he asks, “Where did you run off to?”

“I had a short meeting with your mother.”

This time, he did look up. “Were you reporting to her about me?”

For some reason, I didn’t want to answer him, one, I didn’t want to set him off. And two, I didn’t want to mess up to progress we made.

“Brielle,” his voice was firm.

“She wanted to know if I could get you to attend a charity function.”

“Ah. Are you going?”

“More than likely.”

“Then you can tell me all about it when it’s over.”

I rolled my eyes.

“I don’t know why you have to be so difficult.” I stormed out of his office, desperately needing some fresh air.

My phone pinged, and when I looked at it, I saw the details for the spa day. I called Kali.

“Hey, bestie!” She said when she answered.

“Hey.”

“Oh no. You sound stressed. What’s wrong?”

“Just Jameson being…Jameson.” I huffed.

“Still being difficult, I see.”

I laughed. “It seems like one minute he was opening up to me, and the next he’s an asshole.”

“Sounds like a typical bad boy billionaire.”

“Well, I was actually calling to see if you were available for a spa day. When I had a meeting with Jameson’s mother, she insisted on paying for a spa day for me and a friend. You available?”

“When?”

“Tomorrow.”

“I can make it work, just text me the time and where. We need this.”

“Yes, we do. Okay, I’ll see you tomorrow.”

“Okay. Good luck.”

“Thank you. Bye.”

“See ya.”

I pressed end on my phone and put it away. The spring weather was finally right around the corner, and I couldn’t wait for the warmer weather, because I loved hiking and exploring nature. I took the elevator back to Jameson’s office, and we worked silently for the rest of the evening.

“Ready to head out?” he asked as he stretched his body.

“Sure.” I closed my laptop and packed it into my briefcase, then we headed out, using the same SUV we had earlier, since I arranged to have it all day.

“To Reggie’s, please,” Jameson rattled off to the driver.

“Excuse you.”

He grinned. “You gotta eat, don’t you?”

I sighed. “Fine.”

Once we were seated in the restaurant, I looked at Jameson across the table. “I’ll be unavailable tomorrow afternoon, so I will send some things for you to look at about leadership.”

“Where are you going?”

I smiled sarcastically. “I have a spa day with Kali.”

“Oh. Have fun then.”

“Then I have to look for a dress for the gala this weekend, too.”

The next morning was tense, to say the least. When I thought Jameson took three steps forward, he then took two steps back, it annoyed me. Though the previous evening went fine through dinner, he didn’t even try to sleep with me, which only made me more confused.

And this morning, Jameson headed to the gym before work, I got ready for my day. Not putting too much thought into it, I put on a comfortable pair of sweats and packed a bag with my work outfit for later.

After the Uber dropped me off, I headed to the front desk of the spa.

“How can I help you?”

“I have a reservation for Brielle Delaney.”

The receptionist typed on her keyboard. “Of course. Follow me, and we can get you set up.”

“I have a friend Kali Arnold, coming as well.”

“Okay, I’ll bring her in here when she arrives.”

“Ms. Delaney?” A woman asked as she approached me.

“Yes.”

“Nice to meet you. I’m Natalie. Here is a list of things you can choose from, for this service we recommend a massage, a facial, then a mani/pedi, and you can use the hot tub for some additional relaxation. But you can tailor it to your needs.”

“Well, that all sounds lovely to me.”

“Oh my god, sorry I’m so late,” Kai apologized and looked at Natalie with a worried face.

“We are just about to get started,” Natalie admitted.

“How does a massage, a facial, a mani/pedi, and some hot tub time sound to you.”

She looked relieved, “Sounds heavenly to me.”

Natalie excused herself, and Kali sat in the chair next to me.

“Busy day?” I questioned.

“You don’t even know the half of it. But I want to hear about Mr. Titan.” She was wearing a huge grin.

I rolled my eyes.

Natalie came in and had us change into our robes, and then she came and started on the massage.

An hour later, my body felt relaxed. “I didn’t realize how tense I was,” I said aloud.

“Yeah. That felt amazing.”

We got our facials, which was much-needed. I couldn’t remember the last time I pampered myself like this. Though I took breaks between clients and gigs, I never felt this relaxed.

Once we had our facials, we headed to the hot tub and I was ready to tell Kali about everything.

“Sooo?” she said.

I sighed heavily before giving her all the details. “Well, lately there has been some extreme sexual tension between Jameson and me. And one morning, when I admittedly was flirting with him, he came over and planted his lips on mine. And we had sex.”

“Brielle Jean Delaney!”

“I know. I know. I promise I have never done anything like this with my previous clients. Jameson and I just have this attraction to one another.”

“God, Brielle, live a little. How was the D?”

I laughed. “It was really good. Not gonna lie.”

“Damn.”

“Days prior to that, we kissed, and I put a stop to it before it could go further. I told him we couldn’t do that. He was pissed, and I was pissed he put me in that situation. But eventually we came together and talked about it. Then it happened.”

“Well, I don’t see the harm in it as long as you keep things professional during work.”

“That’s exactly what I told him. And he is making some improvements when it comes to work, he has stepped up some.”

“I am happy to hear that.”

We got out of the hot tub and were ready for the final service for our mani/pedi’s.

“How’s wedding planning going?” I asked her.

“So far, we picked out the venue, did a cake testing, and finally made a decision on that. I’m going for a dress fitting in a few weeks. Want to come along?”

“Of course. I’m here if you need help with anything.”

“Thanks.”

“Speaking of dresses, I need to get a dress for a gala this weekend. Want to help me?”

“Duh.”

We laughed.
