Chapter Nineteen

JAMESON

“Will your mom be okay with bringing me on?”

“I am sure she will. This is my first executive decision.”

“Tell me again that you love me,” Brielle said.

“I love you so much, and with everything I have.”

She smirked. “I love you too. This day doesn’t seem real.”

“It’s real, baby. You want to call Kali and tell her about the baby?”

“Not right now. Right now, I just want to spend time with you. I’ll call in the morning.”

“Yeah, we should get some rest.”

“I know your version of rest, Mister,” she said with a sly smile.

“Now who is thinking dirty.”

“Tell me I’m wrong.”

I smirked. Her pinky finger linked with mine as I led us to the bedroom. “I can’t make promises like that.”

We got to the bedroom and immediately stripped out of my clothes. “Shit.”

“What?” Brielle asked.

“I didn’t bring any clothes.”

Brielle laughed. “Chris probably wouldn’t mind if you borrowed something.”

I shrugged. “Probably not, as long as I wash them after.”

Brielle took her clothes off and slid into bed, only wearing panties.

“Looking like that, I can’t promise to behave.”

She smirked. “I don’t want you to.”

“You’re a bad girl.”

I woke up, and the space next to me was empty. Roaming through the closet, I pulled on a pair of Chris’s jeans. Thankfully, we were roughly the same size. Barefoot, I ventured through the house, taking the stairs to the kitchen where I smelled food cooking.

“Mmm, smells good,” I wrapped my arms around her waist and snuggled into her neck.

“Sleep good?” she asked.

“I did. Did you tell me yesterday that you were pregnant with my baby, or was that a dream?”

She twisted her body in my arms and wrapped her arms around my neck. “I did.”

“I still can’t believe it. It makes me so happy.”

“I am too. Food is ready.”

“How’d you get this food here?”

“I used an app and had it delivered.”

“Smart.”

I helped plate the food, and we moved to the back deck to eat it.

“I called Kali this morning,” she said.

“And?”

Brielle smiled. “She’s happy for us, and when we get back, she wants to take us out to dinner and meet you officially.”

“That’s great news. I’m glad she’s happy for us.”

We continued eating and enjoying the sunrise.

“Yes, and she understood why I was leaving the company too. The traveling is horrendous when you are in a relationship too. I definitely need to slow down.”

“You do. You’ve been on the go for how many years now?”

She giggled. “Too many.”

After eating, we cleaned up, we headed upstairs to shower, and we got dressed. Back outside, enjoying the weather, I pulled out my phone. “I should call my mom.”

Brielle nodded.

I pressed my mom’s number on my cell, and she answered on the second ring. “I hope you have good news for me, son. Did you find Brielle?”

I smiled while looking at Brielle and had my mom on speakerphone. “I did. And I have other news.”

“What is it?”

“Brielle is pregnant.”

“What? Are you kidding me? I’m gonna be a grandma?”

I laughed. “You are.”

“Oh my gosh, I’m so happy for you both.”

“Also, she is quitting her job and coming onto the team as a consultant for the company.”

“That’s even better news as long as she is happy with that.”

“She is.”

“Then I’m happy too. She’ll be a great asset here.”

“Yes, she will.”

“I can’t wait,” Brielle said aloud.

“I wish you both were here for me to hug you both.” Mom was overjoyed.

“We’ll be there soon. Brielle is waiting for her replacement to get here.”

“Okay, then I’ll have you over for dinner.”

“Sounds good, mom. Talk to you later.”

“Son.”

“Yeah?”

“I’m proud of you for becoming the man you are.”

Tears welled up in my eyes. “Thank you.”

“Bye, Brielle. Son. Love you both.”

“Love you too.”

I pressed end on my phone and sat it down. “Come here,” I said, pulling Brielle into me and kissed the top of her head as she wrapped her arms around my waist. “I love you so much.”

“I love you.” She leaned her head up, and I kissed her.
