Epilogue

After a wonderful New Year’s dance where Florence and Frank danced until the fireworks went off to welcome in the new year, and so did Lacy and Rory and all the other partygoers, they were ready to get married and then head out on their honeymoons.

Six months later, Hal gave Lacy away at the wedding, and Dan gave Florence away.

They loved it. But at the banquet, a rumor was spreading that Ted and Stella were pregnant with twins.

And even though it was a wedding celebration for two couples, Lacy and Rory, and Florence and Frank toasted to Stella and Ted’s upcoming babies that would join the cougars of Yuma Town.

Ted and Stella were smiling broadly and thanking them for announcing their special news at the wedding celebratory dinner.

Then the newly married couples were off on their honeymoons.

Florence and Frank flew to Portland, Oregon, and rented a car to drive to their cabin retreat on the Oregon Coast, while Lacy and Rory flew to Belize.

Both couples were staying near the water, but Lacy and Rory planned to do a lot of snorkeling in Belize.

In contrast, Florence and Frank intended to do a lot of walking along the beach, both as cougars and humans.

They also took boat trips to see whales and porpoises.

The red wolves on the Oregon Coast treated them to a hamburger cookout and even ran with them in their shifter forms.

They were delighted to meet cougar shifters.

Frank and Florence really enjoyed the company, but the cabin was great for their special alone time too, and they loved listening to the ocean waves crashing on the shore. They even saw a black bear and two cougars, non-shifter types, while they were running at night.

“I never thought I would be on my honeymoon at a red wolf-owned cabin rental with a fellow FBI agent,” Florence said, sitting on the deck with Frank, sharing champagne, wrapped in blankets together on a rocking bench.

Frank leaned over and kissed her. “I’m so glad you picked this spot for us. It is the perfect getaway for the two of us. And so many of the red wolf pack have come out to meet us, it feels like we’re celebrities.”

“I wonder how the kids are doing,” Florence said.

“Oh, you know they’re having fun—running through the rainforest, enjoying the beaches and clear, aqua water. But this place is perfect for us.”

“Are you ready to go back inside and get warmed up?”

Frank helped her up from the bench. “You betcha.”

Lacy and Rory spent a lot of time in the Belize rainforest on night excursions and were surprised to see as many wild cats as they did: full-time cougars, jaguars, ocelots, jaguarundis, and margays.

But for now, they were just finishing snorkeling at one of the reefs and headed back to their car so they could return to their cabin in the rainforest. “Are you ready for a swim in the pool?” Lacy asked.

Rory laughed. “I didn’t know you were part mermaid.”

“I was born and raised in Florida, remember?”

“Aww. I love it. I love you.”

They washed off, headed to the indoor swimming pool, which was happily empty, and swam. Then they were hugging in the water. It wasn’t long before Rory wanted to take this somewhere more private.

“Are you ready to retire to the cabin?” Rory asked.

“Yeah, I can feel you’re ready for me. Let’s go.”

“I wonder how Frank and Florence are doing.” Rory opened the door for her, and they went inside and locked it.

“Having as much fun as us, I’m sure.” Though she suspected they weren’t in bed half as much as Rory and she had been for another wild romp!

Then again, what did she know?
