Nathaniel #2

Her giggle had a forced lightness to it, which I could hear distinctly since she was so close to me. I knew what her end was and I honestly didn’t appreciate the way she was talking about Charisma. One thing for sure, she was going to be short a patient if she crossed the line with me.

“Oh, you must not have had her yet. If you’re taking this kinda attitude with her then I know you have her in your sights.

You need something to do before and after you scratch that itch?

” When her hand slid down my shoulder heading to my chest I grabbed it stopping her before she got to what she really wanted.

“The fuck is wrong with you?” I knew my tone was harsh as fuck but it was on purpose. I might joke a lot but there wasn’t shit funny about her not heeding the cues that I wasn’t playing with her.

She scoffed and jerked her hand back and I sat up so she couldn’t touch me again. Her hazel eyes widened slightly before she laughed off the slight. “Oh, you’re not trying to play today? That’s almost insulting.”

My frown deepened as I tried to figure out who exactly she thought she was. “Almost? You’re here to check on my shoulder not grope my dick. It’s clear I ain’t on that type of time with you.”

“For now?”

I shook my head not wanting her to think she had a chance in hell of being around me again.

In any capacity. “Forever. We should’ve kept shit professional but that’s a mistake on both our parts.

Either you can be professional or you can explain to your boss why I need someone else from the rehab facility to work on me. It’s your pick.”

She sucked her teeth and tossed her dark brown ponytail over the shoulder of her light green scrubs. “You can’t be serious. You’re out here slanging dick to anyone who says yes—”

“That’s bullshit. I’m not slanging dick to anyone. I’ve always been choosy but you were clearly someone that I didn’t use my best judgement with. As a matter of fact, I’m not concerned about how your boss feels. I’ll get Mitch on the phone right now and let him know I need someone else here.”

She looked like a fish the way her eyes bugged out and her damn mouth dropped open. “You can’t be serious! That’ll make me look bad.”

“And you think I give a fuck? You in here throwing shots at my staff, someone I care for a lot, and you think your feelings are going to matter more than hers? Or mine?”

“You’ve known me longer! I don’t understand—”

“I could’ve known you for a thousand fucking years and it wouldn’t mean shit stacked up to the moment I knew she existed.

You gotta remember to play in the lanes that were designed for you.

Our shit was temporary. I want things with her to be permanent.

Which means no one and their feelings are going to be more important to me than hers.

I tried to spare your feelings shawty but now I couldn’t give a fuck less.

Calling my girl cute, trying to be funny now look atcha.

” I looked her square in the eye so she understood that I meant what the fuck I said.

“Nate—”

“Charmy!”

I hollered while still keeping my eyes on this chick ‘cause she wasn’t about to do nothing to make it look like we were messing around. I was loud enough so that Charisma could hear me at the front of the office and my volume forced Rachel to take a step back.

“What are you doing?” Her voice was low and she was stealing looks toward the door.

Yeah, she knew that my fairy might look sweet but she would knock her ass over the head with the nearest object for fucking with her.

“Ain’t no need to whisper about it, nie.

You were happy to be hot in the pussy when you thought I was going to slide up in that muthafucka.

I’m sure you were gonna switch your hot ass out here and say some slick shit to my girl on the way out.

Have her mad at me when I ain’t even do nothing. Stop playing with me, Rachel.”

Charmy appeared in the doorway with a look on her face that would’ve put Rachel’s life in danger if it were a living thing.

“You needed me, boss?”

I knew she said that boss shit to create space between the two of us but that shit just had my dick growing.

Which was the last thing I needed since I wanted her to see I didn’t want shit to do with Rachel’s ass.

Her energy was tempestuous and I knew if given the chance she’d have Rachel’s ass touching every one of these walls in here.

But it wasn’t even necessary. I couldn’t lie that seeing her get this feisty over me was sexy as fuck.

“Yeah. Can you get Mitchell on the phone from the rehab clinic? I need a new therapist as soon as possible.”

Charmy glanced between the two of us like she was figuring out who she was going to fuck up.

I hadn’t done shit but I’d take the licks to keep her from getting in trouble with the law.

I never wanted her to be somewhere fighting over me because as soon as she said the word, I was hers and hers alone.

When she finally spoke, I was hoping she didn’t give Rachel the satisfaction of getting upset. “Do you want to keep the same schedule or will you make changes to whoever is available?”

“It can be whatever is easier. He’ll have a free therapist to take over whoever they need to move around.”

“Oh, is there anything else I need to relay?”

It was a nasty challenge wrapped in the fabric of professionalism and I had to wonder who’d taught my normally sweet Charmy to be this fucking devious. And why did I like that shit so much?

“He can reach out to me personally if he needs to. Just let him know that personal boundaries weren’t respected and I can’t have that with someone who works with me.”

“Are you serious?” Rachel was damn near hyperventilating as Charisma and I spoke. When I looked at her, her fists were balled at her side like she were filled with impotent rage.

“Is he lying?” Charmy’s head was cocked to the side daring Rachel to say anything but the truth.

“Yeah, Rachel, am I lying?” I wasn’t about to get mad and give her a reason to say I intimidated her.

Rachel might’ve been Black but her mama was white so I knew she had them tendencies in her.

I knew there was little chance she could claim something untoward happened with Charmy standing right here, but I wouldn’t put anything past her.

Her face turned red and I knew she was fighting not to stay on my bad side.

I knew how seriously Mitch took his business.

Despite being in Dallas and having access to multiple athletes across a half dozen sports, a therapist who was sexually aggressive was a liability.

The chance that she might accuse someone of something they didn’t do was there.

And if she stayed on the payroll that would put him in the crossfire.

He wasn’t going to lose everything he owned over one worker.

Especially since a professional athlete was damn near my brother-in-law, another was my brother’s brother-in-law and we were close family friends with the owner of the Desperados.

My popularity aside, our circle was too big for him to alienate me for her.

“You’re not lying but why can’t we just keep this between us?”

“Because you were warned and you ain’t listen.

No means no, Rachel, and the last thing we need is you running around sexually harassing other athletes.

” Charmy’s brows rose at my words and she turned her head slowly to Rachel.

Her expression screamed, oh this bitch gotta die and when she chuckled out loud then stopped abruptly, I had to wonder what murdery rap song she was singing in her head to hype herself up for battle.
