“A pass around? Figures you would be one of those types of niggas. Makes my ass itch when people judge a woman’s worth by the number of men she’s slept with.

Gotdamn what does it say about men when we defile something that much by entering it?

We’re clearly the losers in this situation.

Besides, is that all you’ve got to judge someone on?

” Charmy had already let me know about the rumors that were spread about her.

If she was going to be as honest about having an abortion I knew she wouldn’t lie to me about how she got down in college.

We’d talked about everything under the sun with me discussing potential former lovers she might run into on the circuit.

It didn’t make her happy to hear but we were open with one another about everything.

Which is why I didn’t feel the need to clear up any rumors to this nigga who didn’t matter.

He smirked like his words were landing making me wish his mama would’ve swallowed. Anything would’ve been better than me having to put up with this dense muthafucka around anyone or anything connected to me. “I’m saying, Nate, if you want a woman that’s a whore—”

“I’m a whore, the fuck? You think I’m going to judge a woman for the same pleasurable activities that I partook in before I met her?

Fuck outta here. And one thing I know about Charisma is that she ain’t a ho.

She is extremely particular. So, what was it?

You shot your shot and she turned you down?

And then when you saw her homeboy pulled her you felt some kinda way? ”

He was looking around because he wanted to put on a show but didn’t like being put on the spot. “Don’t put this on—”

I held up my hand and like the bitch he was he closed his damn mouth. “Shut the fuck up while a grown man is speaking. You the type of nigga to try to teach her a lesson.”

“A lesson? What are you talking about? You sound delusional.” He tried to wave me off but since he wanted to start this shit with me I was going to finish it.

“That’s what you get for dating ain’t shit women, besides my sister of course.

They’re the type who will tell you anything just so you keep them around.

But a good woman will reveal her ‘flaws’ before anyone else can get the chance to.

Tell you the truth about her past before you can find it out yourself.

I already know what the fuck you were alluding to.

I know about my girl getting pregnant before and not going through with it.

It don’t make me any difference because I firmly believe that the only children she was ever going to risk her life birthing will come from my bloodline.

But it’s clear her ex nigga had loose lips spreading her business around like that so he’s gonna have to see about me now, too.

All I need is a hint that you fucked up.

That you tried to get at my girl on some aggressive shit.

Let that be the case and that ass whoopin’ that I gave you for my sister is gone look like love taps.

The only reason you’re still breathing is because Reece’s man requested that we give him the privilege of taking care of you.

You lucky they still working shit out or else you would’ve been gone, my boy. ”

“Been gone? Like what? Dead?” He was chuckling like something was funny and I simply stared at his simple ass until he stopped. “You can’t be serious. You Chisholm-Loves think that you rule everything.”

“Because we do, fuck nigga. Look around you! The only reason you got as far as you did was because of our family. And now that you can no longer hang on to that, gotdamn look at how far you’ve fallen.

I heard you were hopping from one dowdy, untouchable old money girl to the next just to keep a roof over your head.

A gotdamn hobo-sexual. It must suck to suck, huh?

But it’s clear that’s the only way that you can get paid: by kissing ass cause you ain’t got talent. ”

“Shut the fuck up, Nate.” This nigga hissed at me like a bitch and I cracked up laughing.

“Oh, not this nigga acting like he got his balls back. Come on bruh, we can handle this like men if you want. It ain’t my fault you out here training people for free just so that you can keep on the circuit. How the mighty have fallen.”

“Everybody can’t be born with a silver spoon in their mouth and thoroughbred horses halfway to the finish line.”

I flashed the grill I always competed in further pissing him off.

“Nigga, my spoon was platinum like my grill, don’t get it twisted.

And the one thing I’m not, is ashamed of my upbringing.

But the other thing I ain’t is a fucking nepo baby so you can kill that noise.

I worked hard for everything I have and everything that got me here.

Did I have advantages? Hell yeah, because my parents wanted to ensure they provided me with the best they could afford.

And damn, they could afford a lot. But that ain’t mean I ain’t have to break my damn back and my neck to be as successful as I am. ”

“Right, and people like me gotta work from behind when you’re given those advantages.”

“You’re out here mad, why? Because I put in the work?

Because I’m so good at this shit that I make it look easy?

Plenty of people have started from harsher upbringings than yours and their skill took them further than you’ve gotten.

Must keep your ass awake at night wondering how a muthafucka like me has the life you wished you could have.

That you think you deserve. But that’s the big difference between the two of us.

You’re out here wishing while I’m working.

And you’re thinking you deserve shit when I know I deserve it because I worked my ass off for it.

My mindset determines everything I do and I never doubt myself.

But I back that confidence up with training and being hungry.

That’s the difference between wishing and working: one nets you buckles and ribbons while the other only gets you…

well whatever losers earn. I wouldn’t know ‘cause I ain’t been a lame a day in my life.

” My arms were crossed over my chest as I mugged this nigga in front of me.

What my sister saw in this fake ass Blair Underwood looking muthafucka was beyond me.

“Fuck you.” He wanted to hit me so badly I could sense it but the shit only made me laugh. This boy wouldn’t know what to do with himself if I really went off so he was being spared.

For now.

I grinned and licked my lips, my grill that had been customized with diamond encrusted fangs flashing in the overhead light.

I walked closer to him, the hard packed dirt floor kicking up dust as I did.

“Nah. No thanks. I got somebody for that, remember? Somebody that you apparently wish you had. I guess that’s just another reason for you to hate me, huh? ”

I could only grin broadly watching him try to reach for something to come back at me with.

“Her parents know that she with you?”

“What does that matter? Gotdamn you gone add snitch to your list of ain’t shitness, too?

And what does it matter what grown ass people do with other grown ass people?

I see why you suck at being a cowboy. You too fucking busy minding business that ain’t got nothing to do with you.

What we do ain’t nobody’s business and that goes for you, her mama and her daddy.

Hell even mine too if I didn’t want them in my business.

See, unlike you I don’t have to kiss anybody’s ass.

I am who the fuck I am, I stand behind that shit and I dare anybody to try me about me or mine.

” I was in his face daring him to do some shit.

Trying to out me and Charisma before she had a chance to speak to her people wasn’t going to sit right with me at all.

He knew way too much about Charmy and her family so she and I would need to have a conversation about this nigga. I didn’t believe a damn thing he said about her, but I wanted to give her a heads up in case he was trying to mess things up with her people.

“Uncivilized.”
