Chapter 10

“Okay, so … I can have movers pack my things, and I’ll never actually have to leave. Sounds good, right?”

Win’s words were music to his ears, and his grin widened as she stood in the old barn he’d converted into an indoor pool and spa area. Glass roll-up doors had replaced the two longer opposite walls, with views of the Cabinet Mountains on one side and the Clark Fork River on the other.

“Sounds good to me.” He said it lightly, but he was dead serious.

When he’d redone this falling-down barn, he’d wanted to it to be an oasis of luxury and comfort … and incredibly tempting for a woman who could have just about anything she dreamed.

“This is … extraordinary.” She turned from the windows to look inside the massage and facial room again before walking past the steam room, sauna, and cold plunge pool. “How did you ever come up with such an idea? It’s absolutely perfect.”

“I’m glad you like it. Truth be told, I borrowed inspiration from a spa in Austin and a Russian billionaire’s estate in New Zealand.”

“Fancy,” she said as she reached down to feel the water of the whirlpool. “I love it. I didn’t even think to bring a suit.”

“I’m sure you can have one sent. I figured this would be a hit for relaxing after a long day of shooting.”

“The crew will think they’ve died and gone to heaven.” She looked at him across the pool. “You are full of surprises. No wonder you never looked back after you found this place.”

“Wouldn’t say I didn’t look back. I just found somewhere I preferred the view from better. But I did miss seeing you around. That was less ideal.”

“How could you miss me when you have all this?”

“A fancy pool barn doesn’t provide entertaining conversation or keep my bed warm at night.”

“That’s a really big bed too. Might take more than just one more person to keep it warm.”

Bo shook his head. “Not into that. I’m just into you.”

Windsor felt the heat of a blush rising up her neck and onto her cheeks. How does he do that to me? That’s when it hit her. He’s just being honest. Being real.

Like an epiphany had taken place, she stared at him. “You really are into me.”

“You can’t be surprised. I haven’t exactly tried to keep it a secret.”

She remembered another night, around another pool … where she’d been tipsy and almost fallen in. He caught her just in time and saved her from a major party faux pas. Even then, years ago, she’d felt his bold interest in her.

“How long …”

He rounded the pool and closed the distance between them as she voiced her question.

“How long have you been … into me?”

“Long enough that it’s time to do something about it.”

He stopped right in front of her, and Windsor’s nipples peaked against the cups of her bra at the intent expression on his face.

“I have to agree with you there,” she said.

Like it was choreographed, one of his hands slid around her side to the small of her back, and the other threaded through her loose blonde hair. His mouth came down on hers, and she moaned as their lips touched. His tongue slipped inside, and Windsor felt its stroke more than just there.

Her hands locked behind his neck as he kissed her deeper, more fully, like he’d waited a lifetime for this moment. She lost track of time and the entire world as she gave herself totally over to the kiss.

God, he is a great kisser.

He took his time and yet tasted her like a starving man. She pressed her body against him, desperate to be closer.

He finally tore his lips away from hers for the briefest moment to speak. “I had a feeling it would be like this. Wildfire.”

“Call it whatever you want. I just want more.” She pressed her lips to his and kissed him again.

After who knows how long, Windsor was ready to climb him. “I can’t wait. I need—”

“I know what you need, sweetheart, but contrary to what you might think, I am not an exhibitionist, and we aren’t putting on a show for whoever might pass by.”

Windsor had totally forgotten about the two glass walls of the barn. “Shit.”

Reality intruded instantly. Because like him, she wasn’t the type to put her personal life in the spotlight if she could avoid it.

“Don’t worry. We’re all good. But …” He pressed another kiss to her lips. “As you mentioned previously, I’ve got a big bed that I’ve imagined you in for way too long now, and I propose we give that a shot before we settle for just any flat surface we can find.”

“I don’t think it would be settling,” Windsor said with a laugh.

“Don’t tempt me, woman, or I’ll have you on that massage table in no time at all.”

“What are you waiting for?” she whispered. “Sounds great to me.”

He pressed his forehead against hers and gripped her hips with both hands.

“You deserve better, Win. You deserve care and savoring. Not a fast fuck behind any closed door we can find.”

She sucked in a breath. “Haven’t you waited long enough?”

“I sure have. But I’m not a kid anymore. I can wait a few more hours and have all night to make you mine.”

She let out a sigh. “Why does that sound so good?”

His lips found hers for another taste. “Because we’ve both been heading toward this moment for a long time. And it’s finally going to happen. No rush. No hurry. Just you and me in an empty house where you can scream as loud as you need as you lose your mind over and over again.”

She’d been wrong. He wasn’t dangerous or devastating. He was going to be life-altering.

“You don’t just want sex, do you?” The words came out unexpectedly.

His forehead rocked against hers as he shook his head. “Glad you’re finally getting with the program.”

She should have backed away, terrified of exactly what that could mean, but she tried honesty instead. “I don’t know how to do this, Bo.”

“You seem to be doing just fine to me,” he said, tasting her lips again.

“But you want …”

“Everything,” he finished for her.

Her heart thudded in quick succession against her ribs, and a shiver ran through her body as she swallowed. “What if I can’t give you that?”

He pulled back and looked her in the eye. “Let’s not worry about what-ifs. We’re just seeing where this goes, remember?”

“But you want …”

“Sure, I’ve got an idea about a future with you and me together in it, but only time will tell what happens. It takes two to tango, Win. I’m just hoping you want to dance.”
