Josh

One… more… wristband… to… go…

Obstacle.

He meant obstacle.

Two if you counted Ryder.

Hadn’t he run out of sweat yet?

Josh had.

The top part of his body decided it had had enough.

Was he tilting forward?

Was he going to face-plant?

His hands caught his knees.

Half of him was still standing.

That was a win, right?

He looked to the side. Ryder was having the same issue.

Did two halves make a whole?

Probably not. If there was a hole deep enough, Ryder would’ve shoved him in it.

He looked up, hoping that the next obstacle was a massage table. Or a hot tub. Or anything that involved not moving.

It was not.

A cargo net.

Spider-Man would have been very disappointed in them if he’d seen their performance. But still, they both made it to the top.

Behind them, the thud thud of footsteps.

Cam.

He looked at Ryder.

Ryder looked at him.

They weren’t oil and water anymore.

They were blood.

And everyone knew what that meant.
