Harmony
“I have to go back to my room,” I say to him and he freezes against me.
I don’t want to break the moment, but my omega instincts are shouting at me, and I have to move.
No matter how perfect it is to lie there as Maddock places his ear on my chest to listen to the way my heart beats for him, I can’t stay.
“I really don't want you to leave,” he finally says softly.
He presses his lips against my breastbone before he lifts himself up to look at me.
“I'm not leaving you,” I say. “But there are things I need to do before the day starts.”
Because my nesting instincts are driving me insane. No matter how much I love him, I have to curl up in my nest after making love to him like this. Whether he comes with me or not is up to him.
He reaches out, cupping my cheek, his deep look of love stealing my breath away.
“I feel like I'm going to wake up as soon as you leave and find out all this was a dream.”
I love the confession so much, but there’s no way I can stay without getting stressed.
I lift myself up on my elbows, pressing a quick kiss to his lips. “I never said you couldn't come with me. But I have to go back to my nest. You understand, right?”
His dark eyes flash and he’s instantly off me, jumping away from the bed, hoisting me up.
I fly from the bed, landing hard against his chest as he growls deeply. I burst out laughing, and he quickly smothers it with a rough kiss.
His cock is suddenly against my stomach as he hoists me by the ass and walks me over to the pile of clothes.
“Get dressed,” he orders, heat sizzling through me as he drags on his clothes as quickly as possible.
As soon as my trousers are on he’s there again, rubbing himself against my ass, stroking my breasts, his hand hovering over my pussy.
“The only reason I'm not bending you over and fucking you against the cabinet is because I'm desperate to see your nest.”
“My room is just down the hall. Can you wait two minutes?” I peek at him over my shoulder as I grab my bag.
“That's a big ask, Harmony.”
I laugh again, especially because he looks so serious.
We tumble out of his room, and I pray no one is in the corridor to catch us. Even if the hotel cameras get pictures of us, it will be okay. I already want to announce to the world Maddock is my alpha, but there’s no way I’m saying anything until Jaxx and Everest become my alphas, too.
He keeps his hand on my hip, refusing to walk even five inches away from me. I forgot how much I love that possessive side of him, even though it changed to something suffocating when I was in the driver’s seat.
As soon as I fish out my key card and push the door open, I can smell something is wrong.
I suck in a breath, not sure if I can step inside.
“You took your time,” Jaxx hums from a chair in the far corner on our left.
Fear bursts through my heart and I dart forward, darting to the wide bed to our right.
“Don't worry, I didn't touch it. But I have to say, I'm pretty jealous, sweetheart. You've got so much of Everest in there that it's like Maddock and I aren't even your matches.”
Relief sweeps through me as I see nothing in my nest has moved. Everything is exactly where I left it, down to the folded arms of Everest's jacket that I use as a pillow.
“How did you get in here?” I ask, finally running my eyes over him.
An omega inviting an alpha into their nest is the ultimate sign of trust. Even though my feelings for Jaxx have bloomed so quickly they stole my breath away, I won’t forgive him if I scent him anywhere on the bed.
He wears a white hotel robe, undone and spread over his thighs, with nothing underneath. He grins as soon as my eyes bounce over him, refusing to look where I’m sure he wants my gaze the most.
“Who knows?” he says, glancing at Maddock as he steps into the room, the door clicking closed behind him. “Maybe someone let me fondle her ass after a race and I pinched her spare key.”
“I don't carry the spare key with me,” I say flatly, and he just shrugs.
“Another one of life's great mysteries.” He sighs like it’s a struggle.
“Well, really? I came to wait for my pack, but you obviously got caught up, judging by your scents, so I did some light reading.” He waves one of the tabloid magazines my manager had handed me so I can do damage control if any paparazzi get too frisky.
But the title is there in big bold letters. ‘ Harmony Grace’s New Targets! ’
There’s a photo of Maddock and I against his car, and right next to another of Jaxx and me dancing in the club.
“I’m kind of disappointed really. They just focus on Maddock.
But hey, at least they got a good shot of my ass.
” He grins as he hops to his feet, plopping the magazine on the chair before drifting over to us.
Maddock tenses up, reaching for my hand, and I let him take it.
I don’t want him going for Jaxx, and I need the comfort as well.
It doesn’t matter how much I want him, Jaxx is practically invading my nest.
Jaxx’s gaze dances over mine and Maddock’s necks and he stiffens. His eyes widen, but he catches himself before he shows his real feelings.
“It looks like you two made up. Did you finally get over yourself?” he asks, arching a brow at Maddock.
I glance at my nest again. Most omega's nests are in a whole room or a specific space, but I have to deal with a makeshift setup because I’m usually on the move.
Rather than a fixed location, every bed I sleep in becomes my nest, no matter where in the world I am. I have a bag that keeps every piece I need, and no one is allowed to touch it.
Until I met Jaxx and Everest, it used to contain pillows, a throw, a small clock, and the earrings Maddock had noticed before.
That, along with a shirt with Maddock's team number and the t-shirt he wore on our first date. Those are the things I want Maddock to see, but since that first morning with Everest, I’ve started hoarding his jackets, arranging them in a U shape in the bed so they protect me from either side as I sleep.
“I see what you mean,” Maddock says. “When did you have time to collect all these jackets?”
“Er… Well…” I avoid his gaze. Everest's jackets have become some of my most prized possessions, but it’s more because they remind me of the peaceful times we have together.
His scent helps me sleep at night, and when I can’t sleep, I’ll go and find him.
It was the same when Maddock and I dated and everything in my nest smelled of leather and firewood.
Having their clothes and gifts makes it feel like home.
And that’s why I want to dive in right away.
I can tell him about my meetings with Everest after that.
“Let her have some secrets, Maddock,” Jaxx laughs.
“Which means you know how?” he asks.
“It means I can make a calculated guess. And you might be able to work it out if you weren't puffing up like a grumpy cat ready to attack me.” Jaxx grins at him and I try not to roll my eyes at the pair of them.
Jaxx on my right, Maddock on my left, both of them standing there, just looking at my nest like it’s a piece in an art gallery instead of the precious space that is calling me to lie down.
My chest has been tight since my omega senses started humming, telling me to get back to my nest. And now that Jaxx and Maddock are here, it’s even more important that I’m on the bed.
Jaxx turns to me, running his hand along my collarbone to cup my neck asking me to turn and look at him.
“Will you invite us into your nest?” he says with that boyish smile that always drives me crazy. He leans down, kissing me softly without a second thought. My head tilts back so he can deepen the kiss and sweep me away.
I’m already so high on Maddock's bite that Jaxx's pheromones are like wind blowing against a leaf. A sigh goes through us both as we connect again. I become lost in him again as his other hand draws a line down my chest to cup my breast.
A moan echoes from me as he brushes my nipple through my t-shirt and I bend my hips towards him.
“Do you want something more than just my thumb?” he hums, his bright blue eyes shining.
I lick his cedar and honey taste from my lips, and he chuckles as he leans back in to kiss me again.
Until another growl rumbles behind us.
“Are we getting jealous?” Jaxx teases.
“Don't let yourself be left out,” I tell Maddock, turning to him so I can arch my neck and show him the bite mark that proves he belongs to me as much as I do to him.
“This isn't going to work if we don't get along,” I say as I squeeze his hand. “If you two can't at least be nice to each other, then you can both leave, because I need my nest more than you."
“That sounds like a challenge,” he growls.
Maddock doesn’t hesitate as he sweeps in, pulling me into a kiss, pushing me back into Jaxx’s chest so Jaxx can hold me securely as Maddock's tongue meets mine.
We’ve relearned each other's bodies, and Maddock knows exactly the way to kiss me to make me fall for him again.
“You’re both wearing far too many clothes,” Jaxx purrs against my lips.
“Will you help me then?” I ask him as I lift up my arms.
He grabs the hem of my t-shirt, talking as he sweeps it off. “I’ll help you down to the last scrap, but Maddock is on his own. He can strip himself.”
“I don’t even want you fucking touching me,” Maddock growls, and I laugh as he strips even quicker, so he's naked before me.
When Jaxx gets on his knees to slide off my trousers, a tremble runs through me. He doesn’t miss a beat as he lifts my foot, kissing the sole before pulling off each leg.
“You’re going to get in trouble if you keep teasing me,” I say as the wall of muscle that is Maddock throws off his last sock and lunges for me.
I burst out laughing as he sweeps me into another kiss, like the minute we’ve been apart has been torture for us.
As we kiss, Jaxx guides us backwards. And the moment my calves thump against the bed, he stops.
Maddock pulls back from the kiss, and both of them watch me with expectation.
It’s been too long since I’ve made love in my nest. I thought Maddock and I would fall asleep together in my nest, but there’s no way Jaxx will let me sleep. And I don’t want to when they are already hard.
I bite my lip as I slide from between them, climbing up onto the bed. Both of them groan as I crawl towards the headboard, and I can feel their eyes glued to my ass.
“We need something else before we can start,” Jaxx says.
I twist around, sitting down, tilting my head as he thrust his hands in both pockets, clasping like a claw machine as he brings out two huge handfuls of multicolored condom packets and dropping them in a pile at the end of the bed.
“How much fucking do you think we're going to do?” I say with a laugh.
“Well, it depends on how long that pretty pussy of yours can hold out,” he hums before sticking his hand out to Maddock. “You get orange because your cock is an actual traffic hazard.” Jaxx grins as Maddock glowers at him, but he still takes it anyway.
“You're an asshole,” he says through gritted teeth as they both put them on.
I love how they stand there, waiting for my permission. I hold out my hands and they jump onto the bed the instant I say, “Come here.”
They race so quickly towards me that I can barely grasp them as they leap on me. I laugh as I almost fall, but their arms are around me and their lips find me, and we moan together.
Maddock pulls me into another kiss as Jaxx goes straight for my breast, and I whimper as they layer their pheromones over me. We ebb and flow, the jackets rustling around us as Everest's scent joins theirs. My omega senses flare and my heart aches at how deeply I want us to be a pack.
The moment I lay back in my nest I sigh in relief. I begin to settle, that feeling of oddness vanishing beneath their touch.
If Jaxx offered to bite me now, I wouldn't say no, but I’m not sure if that’s because I’m high on pheromones and the shock of the crash.
“What about Everest?” I ask Jaxx. I don’t ever want Everest to ever think he’s a third choice.
“Don't worry, I've already taken care of it. He'll come soon,” Jaxx says, sweeping my hair away so he can kiss my forehead.
Maddock pulls me back to him, deepening his kiss. Now, all I have to do is wait for my pine and fresh rainwater alpha, and my nest will be complete.
