14 ~ Kissing Chahat #3
Her small, trembling hands came up to my chest but this time, she didn't push.
And all the restraint I'd been clinging to...all the control, all the distance, all the pretense that I could stay away from her it all shattered the moment her lips parted beneath mine.
My hands moved before I could think.
One cupped her face, tilting her head back. The other slid into her hair, fingers tangling in those dark waves that had haunted my dreams.
And I kissed her wildly and desperately. Like I'd been drowning and she was my first breath of air.
She gasped against my mouth, and I swallowed the sound. Her hands fisted my shirt, pulling me closer, and I felt her body press against mine, soft warm and perfect.
"Chahat," I breathed against her lips.
I kissed her again. Harder this time. Deeper.
Her mouth opened for me, and I took everything she offered. My tongue swept across her lower lip, tasting her...coffee and sugar and something uniquely her. She moaned, the sound vibrating through me like electricity.
I can't get enough. I'll never get enough.
My hand on her face tilted her head further, giving me better access. I kissed her like I was trying to memorize the shape of her lips. Like I was trying to brand myself onto her soul.
She whimpered.
The sound went straight to my head.
"Chahat," I said again, my voice rough, almost broken. "You're driving me crazy."
Her eyes fluttered open. They were dark, dazed, filled with a desire that made my blood burn.
"Kartik...."
I didn't let her finish.
I kissed her again, cutting off her words. My hand slid from her face to her neck, my thumb tracing the line of her jaw. I felt her pulse racing beneath my touch, fast and frantic.
"Aahh..." She gasped unable to breath.
"Shh." I pressed my forehead to hers. "Bas thodi der aur. Sirf thodi der please."
(Just for a little while. Just a little while please.)
Her eyes searched mine.
And then, slowly, she nodded.
I kissed her again, softer this time. Slower and more deliberate.
I wanted to savor this moment. I wanted to remember every detail... the way her lips felt beneath mine, the way her body responded to my touch, the way she made me feel like I was the only man in the world.
I kissed her again and again and again.
Each kiss deeper than the last. Each touch more desperate. Each moment bringing us closer to something we couldn't take back.
My lips trailing down to her neck. "Fuck..."
I kissed her neck, pressing open-mouthed kisses along the column of her throat. She gasped, her head falling back, giving me more access.
"Kartik..."
The voice cut through the haze like a blade.
I froze as she began to fade in front of me.
I blinked and the world shifted.
I was still in the cafe. Still sitting at the table. Still in my chair and Chahat was sitting beside me.
Not in front of me. Not in my arms. Not pressed against the wall of the washroom with her lips swollen from my kisses.
Our shoulders were brushing. Her coffee cup was still in front of her. Her eyes were wide, watching me with concern.
And I realized It wasn't real.
None of it.
The kiss. The washroom. Her hands in my hair. Her body against mine.
All of it.
All in my head.
"Kartik..." She held my arm in concern.
I stared at her, my chest heaving, my heart pounding so loudly I could hear it in my ears.
"What happened?" she asked. "Are you okay? Are you in pain?"
Pain?
I wanted to laugh. I wanted to scream. I wanted to tell her that yes, I was in pain...the worst kind of pain. The kind that came from wanting someone so badly that your body started to hallucinate.
I glanced at my watch.
"Chalo," I said, grabbing my keys. "Tumhe ghar chhod du."
(Come on. Let me drop you home.)
The moment we stepped outside, the rain hit hard and within seconds, we were drenched.
"Shit," I muttered, grabbing her hand but we were already soaked.
Within seconds, the rain had drenched us completely. Water poured down my face, into my eyes, plastering my shirt to my skin. I could barely see, barely breathe, barely think.
And then I looked at her, my breath caught in my throat.
Her white top was transparent.
The thin fabric clung to her skin like a second layer, revealing every curve, every contour, every delicious inch of her. I could see the outline of her breasts, the gentle curve of her bare waist.
Her jeans were soaked too, clinging to her thighs like they'd been painted on. The distressed detailing revealed glimpses of wet skin that glistened in the rain.
I couldn't move. Couldn't breathe. Couldn't think. All I could do was stare.
We reached the car. I fumbled with the keys, my hands shaking, my mind completely consumed by the woman beside me.
Finally, I got the door open. "Get in," I said, my voice rough.
She climbed into the passenger seat, and I watched as water dripped from her clothes onto the leather. Watched as she ran her hands through her wet hair, pushing it back from her face.
Watched as the wet fabric of her top clung even tighter to her skin.
Fuck. This is going to be a long drive.
