Chapter 9 Audryn #2

Hunt went to speak, likely to make some foul remark, but Fisher pushed him back and scowled.

It was like Prince Sutton himself admonished the guard for putting a foot in his mouth.

The moment was brief, but the respect Hunt showed to the older man was there, and I couldn’t be sure why.

It was an odd moment for two men who held the same rank.

Jaspar pulled me through the door and into the darkness.

He knew my home as well as I did. We’d both grown up within the walls, my mother and father practically raising him as a brother to Kamden.

We moved to my room, and I let out a quiet thanks that my father was already in bed, presumably asleep.

“Okay, so what do you know?” I asked as he took a seat on the edge of my bed. I lit the candle on the small cedar table.

“Is this your idea of foreplay?” The corners of his mouth turned down. “I’ve got to be honest, I expected it would be better than this.”

“Come on, don’t be a tease!” I pushed.

Jaspar raised a brow. “I could say the same about you.” He patted the bed next to him, but I stayed standing. “We got confirmation that the Book of Public Records is at the castle. It’s held in either the library or the king’s personal collection.”

I paced the short length of my room. “Okay, so I just need to get it.”

“Just,” Jaspar scoffed, “as if it’s a simple task.”

I turned to face him and strolled over to where he sat.

Slowly, I placed a hand on one of his shoulders and gazed into his eyes, dropping my lids and looking at him from under them.

His top teeth dug into his bottom lip as I leisurely straddled one side of him, letting my center drop onto his upper thigh and grind for only a moment while I released a slow breath.

I shifted my weight to allow my other leg to straddle him and pulled his cheek next to mine.

I let out a breathy moan and sank down onto his growing length.

“Fuck,” he breathed.

“Tell me you wouldn’t give me anything I asked for right now.” I exhaled again, letting myself linger at his ear.

“My own life if you wanted it. I’d gladly hand it to you right now.” Jaspar breathed into my neck.

I pulled back from him and placed my forehead against his. “So what’s a silly book in the big scheme of things?”

In one swift move, Jaspar wrapped his arms around me, stood, and dropped me onto the bed, my back dipping down as the pressure of his body sunk on top of me.

“Who’s the tease now?” He smiled viciously.

“Who said I was teasing?” I shrugged. “Just don’t ask to stay and we won’t have an issue.”

Not a breath later, his lips were on mine, tongue pressing into my awaiting mouth. Our tongues worked around each other, lust dripping from us. Kissing him before had only been a preview of the main course, and I was glad to feel he did not disappoint.

His hands made their way frantically to my waist, grabbing at the bottom of my thin dress and bringing it up to my hips. I tugged at my panties at the same time as he did, causing them to tear from my hip.

“Shit, I’m sorry,” he spoke into my mouth as he pulled at my lower lip with his teeth.

“Don’t be, just fuck me,” I pleaded, not wanting to wait any longer than I already had.

With my words, he moved quicker, unable to keep his mouth on mine and untied the front of his pants at the same time.

He sat back for better access, and I followed him upwards, keeping my mouth on his for as long as possible before dropping it down to his chest. I wanted to feel the heat of his skin against mine.

I tugged at his shirt just before he grabbed it and pulled it over his head.

My neediness was getting the better of me, making my hands fumble, but I didn’t care. Sloppy sex was some of the best sex with the right person. I wasn’t looking to make love or connect souls, I only needed the sweet release of the pressure that had been building.

“Fuck me already, Jas,” I groaned between us.

He released himself from his pants, cock springing against my lower abdomen as he lay down into me. The weight of his massive muscles against my skin was everything I’d been aching for. Why had I waited so long to fuck him?

His hand moved between my legs, and he plunged a finger into me without hesitation. He brought his finger to the front of me, hitting the perfect spot on my inner wall. My hips undulated under him, beckoning his erection into me, to fill me.

I reached down, his full length in my grasp. I couldn't bear the wait any longer. “Please.”

His body stilled, and he pulled back and cupped my face with his hand. The roughness of his palm against my cheek was unexpected. “I’ve wanted this for as long as I can remember. Cared for you for even longer. I told your brother how much I—”

And that was the reason I’d waited to fuck him.

“Stop. Please stop.” I closed my eyes and drew in a deep breath. The moisture between my legs evaporated instantly.

“What? What happened?” Jaspar’s face moved from love to concern. “Are you okay? Did I hurt you?”

I pushed back onto my elbows, freeing myself from under him. “No, I’m not fucking okay. Why do you have to say shit like that?”

“I don’t understand. What did I do?”

I shook my head. “I’m not here for anything but a lay, and I don’t need the extra bullshit you’re spewing.”

Confusion marked his face. “You’re being serious? Like you’re actually serious?” He sat back on his heels. “I can’t believe this. I’m not another dumb fuck from the tavern, we’ve known each other forever. You can’t tell me you haven’t felt the same way too.”

I shook my head at him in disbelief, regret washing over me. How had I not seen it coming from a mile away? I pulled my dress down while he threw his shirt over his head and tied his pants.

“Let me walk you out.” I stood and tugged off what remained of my underwear. Straightening my dress, I moved to the door.

“Just because you walked the others out doesn’t mean you have to do the same for me.” Hurt echoed through his voice.

“It’s not like that,” I continued. “I thought I was clear, but—”

He shook his head, walked past me, and went into the narrow hall. I followed close behind, quiet and careful not to wake my father. Jaspar pulled open the front door and walked down the steps without another word or glance.

“Uh oh, trouble in paradise?” Hunt grinned and elbowed Fisher.

I stomped across the porch where Hunt stood leaning against the post and swung a right hook across his face. “Tell Prince Sutton I’ll be ready in the morning.”

I could’ve sworn I heard a chuckle from Fisher as I slammed the door behind me.
