Chapter 17 - Artyom #2

“I've done many things in my life, Ninel, but I've never forced myself on a woman,” I sneered. “And if I did fuck you, you'd know.”

Grabbing my phone from the nightstand, I snapped. “You'll spend the day with Kira.”

Without another word, I grabbed a few outfits and accessories. I made my way to my office and slammed the door behind me.

“Fuck!” I yelled as I swiped some of the papers from the desk to the floor.

Was Ninel really that repulsed by me that she'd wake up in my arms and then scrambled to the other side of the bed then accuse me of touching her without fucking consent? Did she really take me for a monster?

Finally! You've done something right my boy! That's exactly how she should look at you as the monster that you are! You don't get to live the life that you do and get away Scott-free.

I shot off a message to Kira as I made my way to the bathroom in my office. Twenty minutes later when Kira arrived it was six in the morning. As soon as she walked in, I didn't even greet her. I just left.

Throughout the day I tried to push Ninel out of my mind. But, no matter how hard I tried I couldn't.

Had she thrown up? Was she eating? Could I change so she wouldn't look at me the way she did this morning?

…Did what we shared in my car weeks ago, mean anything to her?

Her moaning my name, squeezing my cock so tight when she came I felt as though she was snatching my soul.

I had my share of women, and none had ever been as inexperienced as Ninel.

Maybe that's why I was drawn to her now more than ever. Or maybe it's because she begged for the pain that created that erotic pleasure. The same pain that I craved. I wanted to be in her, see her writhing below me.

But, the more I thought about her the angrier I became.

And over the next few days, I thought the best thing to do was just to stay away from her. I allowed Kira to stay over and be with Ninel.

With us now being constantly hit, things were hectic and we needed more allies and business deals. Lev and the others kept trying to call but I ignored them.

Instead of speaking to Kira about how Ninel was, I asked Ruslan who still had access to the inside of the house as well as the chef.

Ninel hardly left the room any more. When she did Kira would usually help her. Smells continued to bother her, so Kira would usually eat in the kitchen and just take up fruits and crackers to Ninel, and no matter where she was she'd curl up and fall asleep.

Something wasn't adding up..

The throwing up

The tiredness

The smells

The weakness

Fucking hell!

Ninel was pregnant.

After listening to Vera and Katya talk about their pregnancies…I was pretty sure that's what was wrong with Ninel.

I glanced at the watch on my wrist. It was three in the morning. I had just come from beating the shit out of someone who was trying to steal my drugs instead of selling it like he was supposed to. I was going to head back to headquarters, but I made a U-turn and raced home.

Did she know about the pregnancy?

Fifteen minutes later, I stormed into the house and hurried to the bedroom. Ninel wasn't in bed. A few seconds later she and Kira stepped out of the bathroom. Ninel looked dead on her feet. But, I didn't give a fuck. I wanted answers.

“Kira, leave,” I snarled before either one of them could say anything.

“Let me just get her to the…”

“I said leave!” I bellowed.

Kira jumped and hustled out of the room. Ninel looked at me, her face blank. When she swayed on her feet, I rushed over and grabbed her arm.

“You're pregnant,” I snapped.

Ninel didn't say anything.

“I have a headache, do you need to shout?”

I squeezed her arm enough for her to wince.

“I asked you a damn question and I expect an answer.”

“Artyom, you're hurting me…”

“Ninel, I'd do a lot more if you don't fucking answer me.”

It was quiet for a few seconds before she spoke.

“Yes. I am.”

“Son of a fucking bitch,” I muttered, and dropped her arm as though it pained me to touch her.

I glared at Ninel then stormed out of the room. I didn't stop until I was back in my car speeding towards the city.

I slammed my hands against the wheel.

She fucking knew! That's why she didn't want to go to the clinic or let the doctor check her at the house.

Two fucking weeks.

She went to the damn pharmacy! And probably bought a fucking test!

Two fucking weeks she knew!

Then it dawned on me that she wasn't planning on telling me!

And if she wasn't planning on telling me it meant that she was probably looking for a way to sneak out again and abort the baby.

Not on my fucking watch.

I pulled out my phone and called Ruslan.

“Mrs. Rykov is not to leave the house under any circumstance. Get the key from Kolya. Lock the doors. If she does leave and ends up in the city every single guard on duty will end up with a bullet through their skull. Got it?”

“Yes, sir.”

I had received betrayal from my father, my siblings…and now my fucking wife!

Did they take me for a fucking joke?

This was one betrayal too many. And Ninel will pay for it…for the rest of her goddamn life.
