Chapter 18 #2
The moonlight is so bright that it lines Sloane’s face in silver.
Her eyes are bigger and brighter, glistening with that strange, shimmering light.
She’s unearthly beautiful. She stares back at me, and I wonder what my face looks like.
My eyes. Is she finding that same beauty in them that I see in her?
She pulls the blanket a little bit tighter and tilts her face up to the sky. “This is incredible. I don’t do this nearly enough. Take the time for myself for one, but enjoy the small things. I want to, but life is… busy.”
I’ve tried not to torture myself with thoughts of what it would feel like to lower Sloane to the ground, to take my time worshipping her body, to continue what we started in her kitchen, but take our time.
I don’t want to wonder what it would feel like to have her legs wrapped around my hips, or to have her welcome me inside her body.
It’s been a long time since I did that with anyone, and I know that nothing would compare to the rightness of it with Sloane.
I shift uncomfortably on the tailgate, not because the metal is hard against my ass, or because my knee is bothering me, but because my dick is so hard that my cockhead is biting metal even through my boxers.
I want to adjust myself, but don’t want to draw Sloane’s attention there.
I don’t want her to think that I brought her out here just to seduce her and have sex with her.
Would it be insane, amazing, the best experience of my life and hopefully hers as well, at least as far as intimacy goes?
I think it would, but there’s more. I want to give her that before anything else.
I want her to know that she’s special. That I value her as a person and not just as a body.
I want her to know that I want to be able to take my time, to do this right.
“Want to spread this blanket out in the back of the truck? It might be cold and hard, but I think I might die if I don’t have you in my mouth.”
Oh, fuck.
“Sorry. I should ask you nicely, not just blurt out pure filth like that. I meant for it to be witty, but I can see how that’s coming on way too strong.”
I gulp, my heart hammering, pulse thrashing in my neck. My body went from hard stop, foot on the brake, to full on revving, raring to go mode in a second flat. “I promised Liam that I’d respect you. I want to do that, not because I gave him my word, but because it’s the right thing to do.”
She blinks, and even in the dark, her red cheeks are obvious.
“Sorry. I… the moon and the stars are incredible, but they’re never going to compare to you.
I don’t think that my wanting to make you feel good is disrespectful to me.
I’m not asking if you’d like to do that because I think that I have to.
If you’d like to, I’d truly like to, as well.
” She bites down hard on her bottom lip and twists her hands in the multicolored blanket.
“We don’t have to. I just made it super awkward. ”
“I do respect you,” I say, my words piling up and coming out too hard.
I raise my arm and Sloane edges over eagerly, tucking into my side.
She makes a small noise, like she’s desperately happy to be there.
I understand the sentiment. “I think that you’re astounding.
You’re brave. Kind. You’re so ridiculously smart.
You work so hard, you’re a survivor, and you’ve already raised another human being.
You own your own business. The customers are fond of you. You’re like a hero.”
She laughs. “Wow. I’m not. You’re the hero. Without getting into politics, I know that you were on the ground, risking your life for this country. For people like me and Liam. That means a lot, Cruz. You’re the reason that people still have hope.”
My face gets hot at her praise. I’m not good at taking a compliment. I don’t know that I’ll ever be.
She snuggles deeper into my side. My arm tightens around her.
My hand clutches the edges of the blanket to keep it from opening, to ensure that she stays warm.
Like the last time I saw her, I brush a tender kiss over her hair.
Being able to do that is as amazing to me as having all of her. As what she was talking about.
She’s content to snuggle like this for a long while, both of us soaking up each other’s heat. I’m measuring and mapping and committing to memory exactly what she feels like pressed against me. Her floral, sugary, fresh baked cookies and cakes scent mixes with the fresh, sharp night air.
Eventually, she lets the blanket fall away and turns so she can look up into my face.
She moves fast, swinging her leg up and over my hips.
I immediately scoot back on the tailgate to keep her from falling off, my hands going to her hips and wrapping around her back to keep her steady.
She arches into me, her hands bracketing my face.
She leans in, so close, but she moves slow.
She gives me a chance to tell her not to kiss me before she does it.
Her lips are hot and so soft. She tastes like spearmint and sugar.
I stand zero chance. I kiss her back, falling into her, my body aching all over for her. For her touch, for her heart, for her kiss. I’m starved for her.
Her fingers thread through my hair, tilting my face up and tugging me closer. My lips part against hers and she takes the lead, her tongue stroking mine, stoking the fire in my blood so high that I groan like a wild animal.
“Want you,” I pant brokenly.
“I want you too.”
She kisses me hungrily. Her hands caress my head and then smooth down my back, my shoulders, my arms. She touches me a little bit frantic, like she wants to learn every bit of me at once.
Some would argue that there’s nothing perfect in this life, but I think those people are too fussy.
This is as close to pure perfection as I’m ever going to get.
Her kisses light me on fire, make my body sing with electricity.
It hums through my veins. I’ve never known a more blissful adrenaline.
Right when I feel like I can’t take anymore without flipping her over and having her wrap her gorgeous legs around me, without tugging down her leggings and feasting on her sweet pussy again, she slows the kiss.
She drives me into a new madness by nibbling on my lower lip, then sucking it into her mouth.
She hasn’t sat down fully on my lap yet.
I don’t tug her down, not even when her hips writhe in the air, bumping gently against my chest. She kisses me as I heave in great breaths, nibbling my jaw and teasing my chin.
She rubs her nose against my cheek and then over my lips before claiming them again.
She has to guide my hands before I feel free to move them down her body.
Mine are shaking with fear. With need. With the fact that we’re here and that she’s kissing me, and that if it was anyone who had to crash into my life and get me to want to take risks like I’ve never wanted to before, I’m glad that it’s her.
Sloane slows the kiss down again. Her body presses against mine, her breasts crushing against my chest. She finally sits down in my lap, trapping my raging erection between us.
She whimpers against my lips, tugging a ragged animal moan from me in response.
The electricity keeps on coming, pouring from her body into mine.
If she’s the fork, I’m the light socket.
Or… wow. It does kind of feel like that though. Dangerous levels of everything coursing through me. I’m electrified right down to my soul.
Her hands sink into my leather jacket. One works the zipper open while she leads the kiss in a sensual dance, pulling at my lips, tugging at them with her teeth, sucking my bottom lip into her mouth.
She wriggles in my lap, setting off a whole fucking display of fireworks.
Most of them end right in my cock, and in my balls that feel are so heavy and tight they’re at risk of exploding.
What a way that would be to end this before it even starts.
Sloane starts sucking little kisses at my neck. Some of them are hard enough to bruise. Her hand trails down my chest and abs, wedging between us. She lifts up, planting her knees on the tailgate.
“Scoot back.” She frowns, but not because I don’t comply immediately. I’m too in shock, still, to move more. “Wait. Let me put the blanket down. I don’t want you lying on cold, rusty metal. That seems like a Tetanus shot waiting to happen.”
“Lucky that I’m up to date on all of that.” The truck box is clean. I keep it washed, but it is old. “The blanket would be okay though. It won’t get dirty.”
“Did you scrub this truck down with this in mind?”
I laugh. “No. Not at all.”
“You didn’t plan on staring up at the stars?”
“I guess I did, but I always keep it clean. And I didn’t plan on getting naked.”
“No? Did you think it would be a nice bonus?”
“I try not to think about that,” I say honestly. “Most of the time I fail, I add on a mutter.”
She grins at me before taking the blanket and throwing it behind me. She sweeps her knee back over and crawls to straighten it out, her hips and round ass perfectly display in the air.
Fuccccckkkkk. My balls are so swollen that they might literally be the size of grapefruits. I should probably protest about her taking me out and putting her mouth anywhere near me. I’ll probably come with the fore of a firehose.
She turns around right as a wobbly smile probably makes me seem like a total idiot, but when she sees it, her eyes light up all over again and she answers with a smile of her own.
“You’re so beautiful, Cruz. You’re attractive and masculine for sure, but that’s without knowing you. You’re so… nice. Surprisingly so. But you’re also weird. I really like that. I think weirdness is a very underappreciated trait in a person.”
“I prefer to think of it as unique.”
She pats the blanket, her smile growing. “Unique. Yes. That’s a better way of saying it.”
