Chapter 5 Everlee - Fucking Romcoms
EVERLEE - FUCKING ROMCOMS
Lizzy and I are in a deep conversation about nipple piercings when I feel a cold tap on my shoulder.
I turn around to find Callum, the mystery man from the second-floor balcony, standing behind the table with a bag of food in his hand.
His intense stare is focused on me, with a hint of something else. Annoyance? Curiosity?
“Thank you.” I stand up to reach for the bag, but trip over the shoes Lizzy left on the ground. In my tipsy—yes, tipsy, not drunk state, I fall towards Callum. It’s like I’m in one of those fucking romcoms. Look at me, clumsy bumsy. Catch me if you can.
And he does. He not only catches me with one arm, but leans me back like we’ve choreographed a sexy dance routine, eyes locked, staring at one another.
My skin is on fire under his touch and penetrating gaze.
He definitely has that big dick energy with delicious fuck me eyes and I’m pretty sure my whole body is yelling pick me! Pick me!
“Everlee!” Lizzy shouts in shock. “Here.” Lizzy steps forward to grab the bag out of his hand, breaking our trance.
With his other hand free, he helps me stand upright.
I wobble in place, staring at him, not because of the alcohol, but because he makes my head spin.
Holy shit! He’s tall, and when I thought I was falling, my hands wrapped around his arms, his very muscular arms that he’s hiding under that perfectly tailored suit.
His eyes narrow on mine. “You shouldn’t drink so much, Everlee,” he commands before turning around.
Before thinking, I sarcastically reply. “Yes, sir.”
His head snaps around, and there’s a fire ignited in his eyes. My breasts swell and my stomach tightens as my breath hitches in my throat. Can I orgasm from a single look? Because, damn, I’m close.
When I look back up, he’s gone. Vanished like a ghost.
“Wow,” Lizzy breathes.
“What?” I ask, hoping she hadn’t seen me nearly melt into the floor.
“Nip nip did you good.”
“What? Who?”
“I don’t know his name, but the bartender bought you several gourmet sandwiches from Bo La Vie.”
“Really?” I snatch the bag away from her and peek inside. Treating the sandwiches like golden bars, I carefully pull them out of the bag and lay them on the table, looking at my options.
I’ve been dying to try the new restaurant, but can never get a reservation. The fact that I even have to make a reservation to get into a gourmet sandwich shop irritates me, but now I’m all too eager to try everything I can.
“Do you think Nip Nip would let me have a knife? I can cut these up and share.”
“You don’t need to share,” Tony interrupts, looking over Lizzy’s shoulder.
Lizzy’s eyebrows shoot sky high. “Don’t listen to him. That’s a great idea.”
I know she wants to go there as badly as I do and won’t let Tony stop her from trying the goods.
As I weave through the dance floor, the bass makes my body hum.
When I reach the bar, I eagerly wave my hand to get Nip Nip's attention. I really need to learn his name. He walks over, smiling. “I’m not serving you. You’re cut off. ”
I pout. “I wasn’t coming over for a drink, but now I want one.”
He looks over my head again, and I turn to find Callum in his usual spot, watching me. “What’s with him?”
“Who?”
“Callum,” I say in a deep and spooky voice.
He laughs, then stops. “What do you mean?”
“He’s been standing up there most of the night watching… people.” I don’t want to presume and say me, but I definitely feel his eyes on me.
“Oh. He’s just… watching everyone. Big night.”
“Yeah?”
“This is our grand opening. We had a soft opening before, but tonight’s the big night.”
“So, he’s not always that uptight?”
He chuckles. “No, he is.” He looks up at him again, then says nervously, “Well, I better get back to it.”
“So, you really wouldn’t serve me if I wanted a drink?”
He pulls his lips. “Callum’s orders.”
“Does he always get his way?” I mumble under my breath before I turn my gaze up to cast daggers at Callum. But he’s gone. Refocusing on Nip nip, I say, “Well, I didn’t want one. Just a knife.”
His neck snaps back in surprise.
I laugh. “For the sandwiches. Speaking of which, you really didn’t have to get me food and from Bo La Vie, of all places. Although I’m not complaining. I’ve been wanting to try that place for a while and haven’t been able to get in.”
“Really?” he seems shocked.
“Yeah. Reservations are like a month out. How were you able to get food from there? Oh my gosh, do you want one? I can bring it over to you.”
He chuckles. “I know the owner and no, you and your friends enjoy.”
“How much do I owe you?”
“Nothing, but you also aren’t getting a knife.” He winks. “Now I really have to go.”
“What’s your name?” I call after him, but he only smiles.
Dejected, I walk back to the group. “No knife.”
“I love that you thought he would just give you a knife to walk across a crowded club with.”
“Yeah, I didn’t really think that through.”
I pick up a Wagyu sandwich with truffle and Gruyère and take a bite.
I’m pretty sure if it weren’t for the thumping music, I would have thought I’d died.
It’s the best thing I’ve ever put in my mouth and that includes cock.
And I love cock. Unfortunately, chances aren’t looking great I’ll be getting any of that tonight since Derek left.
I can’t blame him. We didn’t really click, and he was getting hit on every two seconds.
Aside from the first guy, no one else has tried to dance with me, which is a bit of a bummer.
Almost as if someone has warned them away from me, but who would do that?
No one. Well, maybe Lizzy, but she wouldn’t twat block me.
“Lizzy. Try this.” I wave my sandwich in front of her face.
“No. You have to try this! It’s a grilled cheese, but…” her eyes roll into the back of her head.
We trade sandwiches and both moan at the same time.
“Can I get some of that?” Tony asks, peeking over Lizzy’s shoulder.
“No!” Lizzy and I both say at the same time.
We finish the sandwiches and decide to dance again.
I’m feeling a lot more stable and less drunk, but I have a good buzz going.
Part of me wants to test a theory to see if Callum has really cut me off.
There’s something about him that makes me want to push him.
Probably because he seems so stiff and uptight. Makes him a challenge to break.
A prickly feeling tingles on the back of my neck, so I turn and find Callum’s eyes on me again.
If he’s going to keep watching me, then I’ll give him something to watch.
With my back to Lizzy’s chest, I sway my hips from side to side as our eyes lock again.
I run my hands over my body, over my chest, through my hair, and then down between my legs.
There is a fire in his eyes, and I feel alive. Electrified.
“You’re doing your fuck-me dance,” Lizzy whispers in my ear. “Whose attention are you trying to get?”
“No one.” I let my hands drag over my breasts.
“Liar, liar, panties on fire.”
Turning around, I put both of my arms around Lizzy’s neck and snake down her body and back up again.
“Well, whoever the poor bastard is, good luck to him. When’s the last time you had a dick in you?”
“Lizzy!”
“It’s an honest question. Vibrators and dildos are great, but they got nothing on a good dick.”
“Hey, ladies. I saw you two over here dancing and thought you needed some company.”
My gaze moves up and down the man who just walked over, then up to see Callum leaning forward on the railing watching us. Being the mature person I am, I wink at Callum, then put my arms around the man.
Break like a twig.
