27. Lucy
Cas cuppedthe back of my neck, pulling me up so he could kiss me again. It was slow and gentle, soft and sensual. He took his time making love to my mouth now that he had me all knotted up. There was no way I could go anywhere like this and we both knew it.
“How am I supposed to look at anyone else?” he asked me. “For fuck’s sake, what did I do to get an omega like you, huh? I must have been a fucking saint in my past life or something because look at you, you’re fucking gorgeous.”
I forced my eyes open and stared into the depths of all that blue, wondering how he could possibly think he was the lucky one.
“You think when I look at you, I don’t see the rest of my life in your eyes?” Cas smirked, clearly picking up on my doubt and smashing it into a million pieces before I could wonder for too long. “Lucy, I need you to use that big brain of yours and figure it out already. This is it for me. I’m fucking yours. So, just be mine already.”
“Okay.” I rested my forehead against his and tried to catch my breath. “I’ll be yours.”
His eyes searched mine, flicking back and forth like he desperately wanted to believe me but wasn’t sure if he should. “Yeah? You’ll be mine?”
“Mhm.” I kissed him again, tasting the faintest hint of roses. “I’ll even let you bond me.”
I gasped at the sensation of all my weight sinking down onto his knot when he picked me up. His pants clung to his hips, absolutely fucking soaked from all my slick. I wrapped my legs around his waist, groaning as each step sent a wave of pleasure through me.
The next thing I knew, we were in the bathroom and the water was running. “What the heck are you doing now?”
“Getting you cleaned up.” He reached out to test the temperature of the water, irritated when it was still cold.
“Why are you acting like you can’t get away from me fast enough?”
Cas snarled at me and I flinched, shocked that he could look so feral even after all that. “You have no idea, Lucy. No idea.”
I studied his face, trying to understand what had changed and why. “Then please explain it to me. I’m not a mind reader.”
“You’re killing me, sweetheart.” Cas sighed and held me tight, one hand gripping the back of my neck. It felt insanely possessive and protective and all the tension left my body like he’d just given me another orgasm. “I fucking love you Lucy, but sometimes I swear you pretend like you’re not the smartest person I know.”
I wanted to feel insulted, but he wasn’t wrong. “Look, there’s a difference between knowing how to solve complicated math problems in my head and being able to figure out what someone’s intentions are without enough context.”
“I know, I’m sorry.” Cas kissed my cheek roughly and leaned back against the wall as he waited for the water to warm up. “I’ve been waiting to hear you say that ever since I lost my mind when you got sick.”
“Say what?”
“That you want my bond.” His arms tightened around me even more and his fingers dug into my neck like he was physically holding himself back from doing something insane. “I just can’t give it to you yet.”
I pulled back to get a better look at him and he reluctantly loosened his hold so I could. “Why not?”
“Because you promised your first bond to Liam.” Cas gave me a sad little half-smile and for some reason it made him look adorable.
He growled when my pussy clenched around him, eyes narrowing. “Why the fuck did that turn you on?”
“I find loyalty extremely attractive,” I told him, rubbing my nose against his just because I could. “You’re an alpha. It wouldn’t have surprised me if you tried to bond me first, since I know that’s what your instincts are screaming at you to do, but you’re not.”
“You’re crazy, you know that?”
“So are you.”
That little half-smile widened into a smirk and he pushed me down to grind me against his knot, sending another shockwave through me. “I’m crazy for you, Lucy. No one else.”
“As you should be.” I couldn’t believe he was still hard. His knot hadn’t deflated even a little bit either. “Now tell me why your very sexy loyalty to Liam means I have to take a shower while you still have me knotted.”
The smile on his face completely disappeared and he looked so serious I actually felt nervous. “I need you two to figure out your shit already, okay? Stop putting it off. Find whatever it is he took from you and deal with it.”
“I’m not disagreeing with you, but I want to understand why you think I need to.”
Steam filled the bathroom, but Cas didn’t move even though the water was hot now. He just looked into my eyes like he wished he could tell me whatever it was I needed to know.
“For a few reasons, sweetheart. But the biggest one?” He sighed and leaned his forehead against mine. “Someone did manage to kill Gideon, but Liam will be a completely different story. When the world finds out you’re our omega…let’s just say I want to make sure they’ll think twice before trying to take you out of the picture.”
A chill ran down my spine when I realized he was right.
If I started poking my nose into places I shouldn’t, they would try to get rid of me before I became a problem. I wasn’t a cop. There were no repercussions to killing me if they could make sure there wasn’t any evidence.
The only thing that might make them reconsider would be all the power at Liam’s disposal.
“You need to end this game today, Lucy.”
His knot deflated and I clung to him, trying not to freak out about this when I’d known it would happen the moment I let Cas inside the apartment.
“I also want to watch him bond you,” he murmured, holding me tight so I wouldn’t go anywhere when he reached down and unlaced his boots. “I can’t fucking wait to see what color your eyes are going to turn when he claims you.”
Cas stepped out of his boots and then his pants, holding my gaze the entire time.
“Do you think they’ll turn red?” He pressed his face to my neck and breathed me in before yanking me back up. “What about when I bond you?”
I had no idea what would happen but I was mesmerized by the way he looked when he talked about it – like he’s been thinking about this for a long time.
“Are you going to bond him too?”
Cas grinned as he carried me into the shower. “Do you want me to?”
I did, but there was more to it than that. “I don’t know exactly how it works between alphas, but I think it would be nice if you could sense each other too.”
“Yeah?”
He stepped under the spray before I could answer, nearly drowning me in all the hot water.
“Do you want to watch, Lucy?”
I shuddered at the sound of the deep growl in his words, knowing I’d been caught.
“Do you want to watch me fuck him?” Cas asked, scraping his teeth against the ridge of my ear.
I clenched down on him, fingers sinking into his hair so I could tug his head back. I stared into those brilliant blue eyes and knew I had to have him one more time before I let him clean me up.
“I want to see you two fuck,” I whispered into his ear. “Almost as badly as I want to see his teeth in your throat.”
“Jesus Christ, you make me crazy.” Cas moved me up and down, still rock hard. “I don’t think I’ll ever get enough.”
“Good. That’s exactly what I want.” Shit, I was already panting, but I needed to hear it. “Say it again, Cas. Tell me you love me.”
“I love you—god, I fucking love you. I don’t give a fuck if you get tired of hearing it. I’ll tell you over and over and over.”
He slammed me down on the last word, hitting so deep I came instantly. It was like he’d found a secret button inside of me and I screamed when it hit so hard I almost blacked out.
Cas pulled me off of him before I could recover and turned me around, telling me to put my hands on the wall and brace myself. My legs were trembling and I could barely function, but I got my hands on the wall right as he pushed back inside of me, gripping my hips until my back arched and my feet came up off the floor.
With every thrust, he told me he loved me – over and over until the words turned devolved into a deep growl as he came, panting from the force of his orgasm.
The only reason I wasn’t a pile of goo on the floor was because he was holding me up “I got you,” he told me, pressing a hand to my stomach. I could feel his hand pushing on his cock and my head dropped back against his shoulder, so far gone I couldn’t say a word. “Don’t worry. I’ll take care of everything.”
And he kept his word.
