Epilogue
Love lit every dark crevice of Cyrus’s heart as Vinnie walked across the yard toward him, their son proudly by her side.
The white sundress she wore flowed around her ankles, her bare feet peeking out from beneath the hem with every step she took.
Clad in jeans and a new green shirt that matched her eyes, he waited for her to join him.
They’d been mated for over a week, but today was their wedding day.
His brothers and Adam were all dressed in jeans and white shirts, which were open at the neck. Kinley’s dress was also a shade of green. Adam stopped beside Cyrus. “Take good care of my mom.”
“I will.” His relationship with his son had grown stronger every day, mostly because of their mutual love for Vinnie.
Her radiant beauty took his breath away.
Thin straps held up the top of her dress, leaving her shoulders exposed and the mating mark visible.
The bodice was fitted with small pearl buttons, and he couldn’t wait to undo them later.
It was more a sundress than wedding dress, but it suited her to a tee and had been her choice.
A bouquet of wildflowers, ones he’d trekked up to the meadow to gather this morning, were held tight in her hand.
She’d blushed when he’d brought them to her, remembering their mating.
Her black hair gleamed in the sunshine. Her eyes sparkled with pure joy. Her smile was soft and mischievous. Life with this woman would never be boring. Leaning down, he brushed his lips over hers.
A male throat cleared. “That comes after the ceremony, Sin, not before.” Morgan Eastridge wasn’t only the sheriff but was legally ordained to perform marriages.
He’d gotten certified at Cyrus’s request. They hadn’t wanted a stranger on the mountain, and he’d wanted his brothers beside him, not one of them performing the ceremony.
Eastridge had been supportive during the Wilkes investigation, which was now officially closed.
When the sheriff had noticed the mark on Vinnie’s neck, he’d looked at Kinley and noted the similar mark, but he’d said nothing, proving he was a smart lawman they could trust.
“Then get on with it,” Cyrus told him. Everyone laughed and Vinnie beamed at him.
A short time later, they were man and wife in the eyes of the state.
This time, he dipped her over his arm and kissed her the way he’d wanted since she’d stepped out of the house.
The whoops and hollers of the others faded to background noise as he kissed his mate, his wife.
When he finally let her up for air, she pressed her hand to his face. “I love you, Cyrus Sin. Now and forever.”
It was the first time she’d said those words to him. His wolf howled inside him, and his heart swelled to bursting. “I love you, Lavinia Grant Sin. Now and forever.”
“Let’s eat,” Adam yelled.
“Pictures first,” Vinnie said, making them all groan.
But his brothers were all smiling. Maybe that was a stretch for Josiah, but he wasn’t frowning, which was something.
His family, his pack, was growing. First Kinley with Eli.
Now Vinnie and Adam. He wanted this kind of happiness for his other five brothers.
“You okay?” Vinnie stroked her fingers over his beard.
“Perfect. It doesn’t get any better than this.” He scooped her off her feet and carried a laughing Vinnie over to where their family was waiting.
