Chapter Eight

Thomas sat outside on the porch swing listening to the toads and watching the fireflies light up the fields.

Sitting there had always brought him peace, but that night, all he could think about was Angel. It had been five days since she’d been living with him, and she was still extremely nervous around him.

He knew part of it was how much her life had changed in the last week, but he’d also caught the heated look in her eyes when she studied him. That pleased him tremendously because his fingers were itching to touch her in all the ways he wanted to.

The attraction that hit him the moment he’d first seen her had grown into a deeper emotion, and his affection toward her rose every day.

But he had his concerns when he noticed the bruises under her eyes were growing darker instead of lighter, a sign she wasn’t sleeping well, and he didn’t know what to do about it.

His thoughts scattered when the front door slowly slid open. He cocked his head and watched as Angel started to slip outside, and if he wasn’t mistaken, she was carrying the blanket she’d had when she came to live with him.

“What are you doing, Sweetheart?” he murmured.

She gasped and twirled to face him. He saw her eyes narrow as she tried to find him in the shadows.

“Thomas?”

“Yes, baby. It’s me.” He waited for her to say something, but she stood frozen in place. “Where do you think you’re going?”

Angel looked down at the ground and stayed silent.

He held out a hand. “Come here.”

She bit her lip and then started toward him. He reached for her when she stopped a foot from him.

“Come and sit beside me.”

She reluctantly sat, then stiffened when he pulled her closer and wrapped an arm around her shoulders.

“Angel, look at me, please.”

She lifted her face.

“First off, I need to know if you trust me?”

She nodded. “Yes. I trust you more than anyone in my life.”

That pleased him. “Good, because you know I’d never hurt you, right?”

She nodded again.

“I know we haven’t known each other long, and your life has changed so much in a short amount of time, but I need you to know you can tell me anything.”

Her eyes widened. “Okay.”

“Where were you going, baby?”

“I ... I want to go out to see Ranger.”

“It’s eleven o’clock at night. I don’t like you out by yourself. Why did you need to see him so late?”

“Because I can’t sleep, and I thought I might try sleeping with him as I did before.”

“Are you still not sleeping in the bed?”

“I’ve tried, but for some reason, it makes me feel lonely, and I’m not used to sleeping on something so soft and comfortable.”

He studied her expression for a moment. “Would you like to sleep with me and see how that goes?”

Her mouth dropped open. “Really?”

Thomas smiled. “Yes, really.”

She thought about it for a moment before looking back at him. “I’d like to try it. I feel safe with you.”

Thomas stood and held out a hand. “Let’s go to bed, baby. I’m tuckered out.”

She giggled and then reached for his hand. He guided her into the house, locking the door behind them, and then led her up the stairs and into his room.

He walked over to the bed and pulled the blanket aside. “Hop in. I’m going to shower, and then I’ll come to bed.”

She dropped the blanket and started to crawl up onto the mattress when he stopped her. “Baby, wouldn’t you be more comfortable with your jeans off?”

Angel paused, then nodded, and slipped her jeans off, leaving her in one of his t-shirts. She folded them neatly and set them on the end of the mattress before crawling up.

Sweat broke out on his forehead when he caught sight of her little white panties and the shadow of her ass crack. Fuck, if he didn’t get into her tight little body soon, he’d go mad.

He covered her up. “I’ll be right back.”

When he stood under the water in the shower, his thoughts turned to the things he was doing to make her life better.

He’d been able to buy a few pairs of jeans, shirts, panties, socks, and a few pairs of shoes for her.

At first, she had tried to argue, but he’d put his foot down.

He didn’t want to see her in ripped, stained clothes anymore.

She deserved better. She had finally calmed down and then thanked him.

Thomas had ordered several other things that would be delivered in the next few days.

He knew he’d probably have another fight on his hands, but he didn’t care.

He wanted her to be his little, and he wanted to be her daddy.

She was one of the girls who desperately needed one, and she was perfect for him.

He debated turning the warm water cold, but didn’t think that or even masturbating was going to calm him enough. His cock would stay hard until he’d be able to lose himself in her, so he might as well suck it up.

After brushing his teeth, he pulled on a pair of silky night pants and grimaced. He usually slept naked, but he thought it was too soon, and he didn’t want to make her uncomfortable. This was his chance to deepen the bond between them, the best way he could under the circumstances.

His already aching cock grew more uncomfortable when he caught sight of her lying on her side, facing the bathroom, waiting for him.

Thomas acted as nonchalantly as he could as he turned off the lights and slipped into bed. He turned to face her and rested his head on his hand. There was enough moonlight coming through the windows so he could see her clearly.

“How are you doing, baby?”

“I ... good.”

He smiled. “I’m glad. Do you want me to put a pillow between us, or do you want to sleep in my arms?”

He could tell he had surprised her, and a blush covered her face.

“I’d like to sleep next to you.”

“Then that’s where you’ll be.” He got himself comfortable and then reached for her. He pulled her against his chest, turning her on her side with her back against him. He made sure she was covered up before pressing his lips against the back of her head.

“Good night.”

“Good night, Thomas.”

He wanted to demand that she call him Daddy, but he would wait until he knew it was the right time. In the meantime, he’d do everything he could to deepen the bond they had.

He stayed still as she relaxed into his arms and her breathing evened out.

Thomas felt his body calm and drifted slowly to sleep. His last thought was that she was finally where she was supposed to be—in his arms.
